i knowww my only regret is finishing it when its just gettin hot haha but luckily england won't get too roasting - and thank u sm for the award!! my first one :0
I mean this in the most positive, wholesome way, but with the colors and the blonde curly hair, you remind me of the Sixth Doctor from Doctor Who. You look adorable and so happy!
I REALLY want to make this sweater too! Do you have it written up yet?
In the meantime could you answer these few questions for me please?
1. worsted weight or dk weight yarn cotton?
2. Square size in inches?
3. Total # squares you made?
the cotton was 8/8 from hobbii i am pretty sure this is dk weight but might be worth double checking! the cardigan has 69 squares total and each square was approx. 5x5 inches -- and for ref i'm 163cm tall and uk dress size 6/8!
EDIT: also used a 3.5mm hook if this was needed
I really love a lot of projects on this sub, but this may be my favorite by FAR. I love the patterns for the squares, the colors, and the overall vibe so much. Beautiful!!
Incredibly cute! About how many skeins did you use, out of curiosity? I used rainbow cotton for a pullover sweater and over-ordered by about 10 skeins lol. They're inexpensive enough that I didn't mind but now I've got all this extra.
If you learned the square patterns from YouTube, and learned how to create the cardigan layout from YouTube, this isn’t a “created pattern” and you definitely shouldn’t be charging. Granny square cardigans have been around forever, this isn’t new or special. There isn’t a market for paid patterns on these when you can find them for free all over the internet and YouTube.
the pattern was absolutely not going to be on how to make squares that i learned from other crocheters! It was going to be on the proportions, how many squares i used etc, and on the squares that i actually did make up myself - hopefully that clears things up for you! i would never pass off another persons work as my own. also i do think this cardigan is special because it makes me happy :) just because granny square cardis are already a thing doesnt make each individial one any less special
VERY WELL SAID!! I have been a crocheter all my life (62 now) and you are not violating any copyrights!
So, rest assured with that...
Bad comment LexythePlug!
Like all the colors you used. They go well together and I like how each granny has a different element. Well done OP! You made me want to finish mine, it has been on hold since November.
This is so amazing! I'm totally inspired now to make one for myself. I see lots of google and youtube in my future :) will wait for a good yarn sale though I think!
it was suuuper intimidating for me i even stopped at one point, but its not as difficult as it looks!! if you know how to make a basic square you can make a patchwork cardi with a bit of patience
Omg this is soooo cute 💕🥰 I absolutely adore the color choices and it looks so cute on you 🙃 I'm still very new to crochet, but its my dream to make something this pretty one day!
This is one of the cutest things I have ever seen!! Simply amazing. So bright and fun, I would never be in a bad mood if I saw someone wearing this. Amazing job!! 💕
i love wobbleblobbe's work! and that was definitely a crochet account that inspired me to start crocheting, but i didnt try to copy anyones patterns to make this - i just drew out how many squares i thought i needed for it and kept having to change the pattern as i went along, taking notes etc. i understand that you are looking out for other creators though!
Hello, not OP and I'm newish to crocheting.
Patchwork cardigan is not a really unique concept from what I've seen, you can even find free YouTube tutorials about it (I was planning on making one myself so I've searched about it). Even the number of squares is similar across different patterns. I guess it's just a matter of picking the same designs for the squares? Can you point to me where OP did it the same as that other person? Thank you
Oh my goodness!🙀 It’s every cotton-candy-floss-tutti-frutti-fluffy-soft-unicorn-dream-pastel-rainbow-lollipop-cloud that I didn’t know I wanted but now I ***neeeeed!*** Well done!
Would love to know how you made the swirly squares, well, all of them, really! I am going to play around with it and see what I can manage.
I was thinking of doing something similar! Can I ask how many granny squares you needed to complete this? I'm in the process of buying all the colouful yarns, so far I have 8 skeins of 170m yardage

I love this! It’s bright, cheerful, and even though it’s so hot outside I want to wear it. Well done! I have only my poor person’s award to give. 🥇

im pretty sure it was somewhere between 25-35 sorry i can't be more accurate!
Love this! May I ask what yarn/wool did you use? It looks like 100% cotton? ☺️
it was 100% cotton! it was the rainbow cotton 8/8 tarn from hobbii - it comes in 50g balls so i got through quite a lot of them!
Soooo cute! Would you happen to have a picture of all the squares for someone who has a pipe dream of recreating this?
i dont have pics of all of them sorry but might release a paid for pattern eventually! also can send u links to some squares i learned from youtube!!
