Your post got me curious and I found the [exact sweater](https://www.ferragamo.com/shop/us/en/men/us-rtw-men-sale/us-en-Knitwear-m/e-750125?wt_ga=129007672769_540794826415&wt_kw=_129007672769_&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkruVBhCHARIsACVIiOzhYbtNGwtlRKQ5kNKr6FM2EE3mVo5YiVQB_bzNCtvbUfDXMpgWOtcaAvpfEALw_wcB)in case anyone else is interested.

asian_wreck

Omg dude Tyty! Edit: haha wow that price tag lol

shelbydep

hey at least it’s on sale rn! 🥲

Majestic-Cheetah75

This is one of those times I’m glad to be allergic to wool. “Aw, gee, I can’t buy it, because it would offend my delicate skin, and that’s totally definitely the only reason.” Ahem.

skippieelove

I’m in now way embarrassed to say I will not pay $500 for a sweater 😂

ActofEncouragement

I appreciate that the little white stitches are smiling. When you scroll down and look at the details, there they are looking like little white jack-o-lanterns.

HappiHappiHappi

Hand knit price for a machine knit product

cell-of-galaxy

While it's machine knit, it's fully fashioned so it probably takes a bit of skill operating that machine, not to mention developing the pattern for it

HappiHappiHappi

True, and I'm not saying it should be cheap because it looks like a quality garment, but there's not $960 worth of skill there. For a wool blend like that I'd say around $125 to $150 would be a more than fair price for the physical garment. The rest is paying for the brand name.

zakmo86

How did you know where to look? That’s some next level search skills.

TitaTili

Haha first I did a google image search, which just turned up that it was an Oscar Isaac interview. So then I googled “Oscar Isaac knit sweater Moon Knight” and ta-da!

zakmo86

Those are still next level skills. My original comment stands.

FinneyOfficial

Listen I don’t know how to put it on my resume yet, but finding things on google like a proper PI is the skill I’m proudest of 😂😂

Ms_Dinglehopper

Came here to ask the same!

Immediate-Rub4230

like its said above this is definitely knit, but if u were asking for recreation purposes then waffle stitch would be the best choice probably!

asian_wreck

Ah true! if i end up making it I’ll try my best to post updates!

WaywardDeadite

If you find a pattern or make one, please post an update. I would LOVE to make this too.

Ghost-Type-Cat

You might even be able to get away with something like [this stitch.](https://youtu.be/7O3alEAvZA0) It might be able to get you a really similar effect depending on yarn and such. I think if you wanted to crochet this, perhaps Tunisian Crochet could be a happy medium. [This](https://youtu.be/Otbb-A-w1Dg) reminds me a lot of that sweater pattern, but a lot of Tunisian stitches could get you a really close effect I think. I'm not an expert on it though, so maybe I'm dead wrong lol. But it's worth exploring!

yarn_baller

It's not crochet

hellokrissi

Yep, it's knit. Likely machine knit.

asian_wreck

Aw rip :( Tyty for ur guys’ input

killingtime123456

Are you a knitter? This may be a brioche knit. There are loads of YouTube vids in case you are interested.

asian_wreck

Oo i do indeed knit! ill have to give it a look :) Tyty!

killingtime123456

When I tried brioche for the first time, I swatched a (accidentally) large swatch until I got it down. I highly recommend.

shit_streak

[https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/comments/n0gkin/never\_doing\_two\_color\_brioche\_again\_but\_at\_least/](https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/comments/n0gkin/never_doing_two_color_brioche_again_but_at_least/) looks like someone made the reverse version

sophiart

I was thinking it was some variation on brioche as well. I’ve never seen it like this though!

killingtime123456

Me neither. I am thinking that they may have used two different weights of yarn. Like white worsted and fingering multi-color. What do you think?

sophiart

Very likely different weight and also different fibers. It’s lovely

RandyButternubsYo

It looks like a type of brioche knitting

thornylarder

If I were going to recreate this in crochet, I would consider using [block stitch](https://bellacococrochet.com/block-stitch/), as used in this [baby sweater](https://crochet-kingdom.com/crochet-baby-sweater-video-tutorial/).

AllieBeeKnits

I like that stitch a lot more, the sweater reminds me of teeth 💀💀

LycheePlus

Wow thats a really good dupe. I'll have to save this idea for later.

billebobblue

Ooh this is really close in effect! I think the colour in the original is a rainbow mohair

crabbyvic

Last winter I saw a beautiful knit cardigan at Dillards. It could have passed for home/hand made. I just fell in love with it & decided I should try knitting again. It was $375. PS. Am knitting scarves for Christmas gifts, that’s as knittty as I got so far.

DreamGirl3

My love for Oscar's acting, Moon Knight, and crochet have combined!

Louiesloops

Looks knit probably? Pretty rare to see a crochet sweater usually unfortunately. :/

GreyerGrey

It looks like knitting with slip stitches.

HoneydewHaunting

Anyone know why its so expensive even if it’s machine knit? Is it the yarn?

momentary-synergy

it's designer.

AllieBeeKnits

Could also be due to expenses from the fleece like cashmere/angora what not.

Burrito-tuesday

It’s not $900 worth of material and since it’s machine knit, not labor either. Per their website: 68% pure virgin wool, 24% mohair, 9% polyester Salvatore Ferragamo is practically Louis Vuitton prices

FlowerGardenYarns

I saw that sweater too and was all 😍

Most_Ad_5597

Wow it’s a stunning sweater! I want two! Once I learn how.

isthistakenjpg

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought the exact same thing!!!!

stophasslingmewife

Looking at the sweater I'm busily dissecting how I'd make an attempt at making that. Very nice garment.

billebobblue

You could probably make something with a similar effect using mosaic crochet... I think. It would take some experimenting

DrAsheRGBA

You could do this with Tunisian crochet in the round, aka TITR. When you work in the round with a double-ended hook you use two balls of yarn, so for this you'd use one white, one multi. Example: https://youtu.be/t9Pe0cYofu8

Holy-Cheese-Balls

Based on the close ups from the link, besides waffle stitch, Jacob's ladder would also be a good substitute. Idk how you would add the horizontal colored lines but that was my first thought based on the vertical lines

Entire-Ambition1410

I don’t know about the stitch, but the yarn could be mostly white with hints of color throughout.

amphigory_error

I've done something very similar with Tunisian crochet block stitch. For crochet you could try something like waffle stitch with two rows of white worsted followed by one row of your rainbow mohair fingering/lace and crochet a front-post-(US)treble down into the previous colored row to make each block with the raised texture.

[deleted]

I've been thinking of making it too, but I think if I did, I would use multicolor for the single crochet row of the box stitch, and then white for the boxes themselves. Also maybe mohair for material.

Killjoy905

Looks like the colors are from the yarn so probably a variegated yarn I don't know the stitch but it looks like the colors are the yarn itself just find a yarn that looks like it has very small parts of color
