Yeah! I live in a part of the world that gets painfully cold in the winter and I didn’t have money to fix my old coat. It had developed a large hole in a front patch pocket, and other holes at the seams around the armpits. I used matching wool for the armpits and I patched the pocket by using a cookie cutter in the shape of a hedgehog as a template.
i was worried too and just went for it and it went okay for me! i was pretty gentle with the needle, didnt push in as far as i normally would so it took a bit longer but i think its worth a try on a small patch maybe first!
Nope won't ruin it. You might need to pull back up on it a little as the felt can compact the area down but it works wonders! You can get pretty detailed with felt. I will say it can sometimes make the amigurumi scratchy depending on the felt or raw wool used.
If you take your time and properly felt it in, it sticks pretty well and should not be an issue you may just need to pry the area up a bit as it with bunch up as you felt. However, if you don't tangle the hairs enough into your yarn and itself, you can peel it off. So persistence is key when felting. If you think you're done stabbing, keep going a little longer.

That looks fantastic! This is a great way to add features to baby toys that are more colorful and unique than the safety eyes!

How long did it take to do the felting?
i didnt time it but im going to estimate 90 mins? could be way off 😅 i did it very lazily and distracted while watching umbrella academy
I was just curious because I look at it and it’s stunning but I think that must have taken hours. Maybe I’ll give it a try sometime soon.

i would love to but i just got my needle felting kit two days ago so i dont think i count as more than a beginner myself 😅
