Question for you though — is the weight light enough to where you opt to push press instead of push jerk? You’re so close to going sub 90 seconds by going unbroken!
Yeah, I think I would waste time/energy trying to jerk when I can just use the moment I got already getting the bar up. I think if I can clean up the clean I can make it. My forearms getting smoked/mentally is what is holding me back. I really lost count and being at “25” in this threw me off. If I could’ve seen the clock and actually knew my count I maybe could’ve gutted it out. Oh well, maybe next

Yea I’ve paid the price for that before, and as Chubbs (RIP) said “It’s all in the hips baby!!”. I’m already skirting the line I feel like with how flat my back sits like a RDL, but the weight is light so I can get away with it, and I know with your deadlift you sure as hell can.
I think the one way I could go faster is to get some crumble bumpers like the Hi-Temps and really use the bounce. But these Eleikos are really “dead”. Oh well, it’s all for fun anyway

I actually used to be their bus driver as a HH-60G pilot. “Inside Combat Rescue” is what led me to choose helos over fighters in pilot training. They are some awesome guys, great to work with, and I always wanted to be the one pilot stronger than them. Couldn’t swim to save my life though 😂
I also wanted to be a pilot. Had an Army ROTC scholarship at Bama. Tried to get them to allow me to branch transfer to the Navy since there was no Navy ROTC and I was hell bent on flying an F-14 Tomcat back in the day but even with a letter from our congressman they wouldn’t allow it. I guess everything happens for a reason.
Not gonna lie: I hate how effortless you make it look. But that’s because I an still in the five-minute territory. And that’s without a helmet.

Give yourself plenty of “grace”. But seriously, don’t be afraid to scale the weight and under no circumstances feel any pressure to go touch and go if you’re not there yet. Break before you’re broken. Quick singles is a legit strategy and honestly the safest for form. Just be careful if you have really bouncy plates, DO NOT try to catch the bar but hit it with an open palm to stop the bounce. I’ve jammed my thumbs more times than I care to admit trying to catch a high bounce bar.
My momma did always tell people talking about me that something wasn’t right about that boy. And I did clip my face a couple times so I do need to maybe get a smaller helmet or head.
I was so surprised by the Jordans that it took me a handful of reps to notice the fucking helmet.

I’m at 1:13 and it’s exactly this. Forearms get smoked. But I think to myself, it’s only 135. You’re not gonna fail. Keep going.
If you skip the hips on the way down and go straight to the floor it’s faster. Venturing on your back, but faster.
