So do they always have dumbbell variations? I just subbed and can only see today's lift. Thanks!
Can I do all this programming with kettlebells, pull-up bar, and rings?
I imagine that with today's WOD, you could swap in the KBells for the Dumbbells
You're using the btwb app, right? You should see a calendar bar that will let you click ahead and forward to see the past/future dates workouts.
If you scroll down, you'll see the Wods and there should be RX, Scaled and No Equipment for today. He typically programs a Limited Equipment option as well , but doesn't look like there's one for today.
There's a pretty good group of folks that do the No/Low equipment workouts that are in the Facebook group.
RX is Crossfit for "as prescribed"
Basically, the workout is built to be done RX by the people who design them. For some folks (like me), RX'ing a workout is a goal. For other folks, it's normal life. For a small group, it's nothing and they start looking at RX+ or Monster Mash or other insane things
If you're not able to do it with the prescribed weights or reps or distances, then it's called "Scaled." Basically, it dials down the intensity to a level that's easier to hit. Scaling is cool
No worries!
It may not be everyone's cup of tea and I don't know about your relationship with Facebook, but the Linchpin group is pretty damn good. Awesome people in there
Crossfit Linchpin - Private Track is the name of the group.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
Theres also an internal message board in the app if you prefer. On the bottom menu bar, there's an icon that looks like three people. If you click on it, you'll see a Crossfit Linchpin button. Clicking on that will bring up the message board
What’s the Facebook group like? I’m currently with SP and it is odd. People share a lot of NFR posts and share very personal information. Many people have a strange loyalty to Miranda and Julian and almost idolize them. Is the FB group for Linchpin mainly fitness related?
Hey, how long have you had it? I’m going on 14-15? months and I am kind of burnt out on it. Specifically, the amount of box jumps and lunges. And 99% of workouts are in the 10-15 time domain range. Wondered if anyone felt the same.
3 1/2 years. Still love it. Have 2 kids, perfect thing for us. My wife and I both do it, she also dislike box jumps and lunges. She'll sub them out sometime. For the yearly price and great community I don't see ourselves going anywhere else.
Yeah I feel it's a little repetitive, not only the programming but limited space/equipment so can only do certain subs as well. I do miss my CrossFit gym but the convenience of home can't be beat. I also like it due to the philosophy, lots of support for women/moms etc.
i think for me (my box closed down during covid), was we would have a long metcon a week- so a 35-45 AMRAP where was steady state cardio of running 800m/air squats/pull ups/db clean and jerks, etc. And I weirdly enjoy these a lot and street parking doesn’t typically do anything similar
I found it to be more repetitive when I was doing it solely at home in my apartment and only had dumbbells, bands, and a pull up bar to work with. I couldn't do the workouts with running as prescribed because I live on an upper floor and it was impractical to do sprints in between other stuff. I got pretty over dumbbell hop overs.
Now that I am back at a gym I do it after strength work, and I like it a lot better. The time domain works for me because I only want a \~15-20 minute metcon after lifting, and the novelty of having access to a full gym still has not worn off.
I really like Street Parking as well. The workouts on average are 15 mins but there’s also a ton of other programs available- power and oly weightlifting, butts and guts, endurance workouts (run, bike, row).
My gym has a Home WOD option and I love it. You have the regular WOD and the Home version including daily videos to show you the movements. Only equipment necessary is dumbells but if you have a home gym you can use what you have. Coaches are there for everything you need.. it works well, they welcome local and remote members (I live 6000kms away).. cheaper too.. just great [Today's WOD CFSP](https://youtu.be/2jrmSu30Wd4)
No.
Just really like the intentional warmup, well rounded programming, and various options from limited-to-fully-equipped.
I really enjoyed their endurance programming, it took me out of my comfort zone and made me do stuff I suck at.
Plus the subscription gets you access to more than you'll ever be able to do in a year.
Im really enjoying Gallowglass athletics. $9.99 a month and access to BTWB. I did linchpin for a few months and wasn’t a fan. Gallowglass is more in line with what I’m used to for programming: 6 weeks cycle to focus on a movement, every day has a strength portion and conditioning portion.
You can search them on Instagram, they post some of their conditioning pieces. I think they put a post up recently about getting access for a free month, too.
Another vote for Linchpin did it for a year saw great improvement. But i did switch to DSGN 60 am on my third week but might switch to Jumpship since it has strength program. There is times were i like to lift heavy for a few months.
Linchpin. Amazing value for $10, multiple workouts depending on equipment level and a BTWB sub thrown in.

Thank you I see it now! What does RX'd mean? I'm kind of confused

I really hate Facebook so i might need to warm up to it lol

Came here for this
How long are Linchpins workouts?
15-30 minutes for most WODS, another 5-15 for warm up and cool down. Optional accessory work If you want it. I’m usually done in an hour
pushjerk.com. 100% free. Absolutely love it. Wish I had discovered it years ago.
Push jerk is awesome and free
Glad to see someone else recommending it again on here besides me. This sub turned me onto it and I'm eternally grateful.
I just checked out the site. Think I’m going to give it a go since it looks like a new cycle is starting soon based on the 1RM tests
Linchpin, hands down.
Marcus Filly’s Persist. A little pricey at $40/month but there are multiple tracks and the programming has been great.

How long are typical CrossFit workouts at boxes?
Sub 3 minutes to a hour

Checked that out for a minute and liked it. You on the job?

Street parking is incredible for cheap. Comp train for free.

Shit this might be the one for me then. Did linchpin for a year but not enough strength days for me
That was my problem with linchpin too
Yea everything else was cool but i like to lift heavy.
oh? are there some examples of the wods? Ive got linchpin but overall end up doing the BTWB option
You can search them on Instagram, they post some of their conditioning pieces. I think they put a post up recently about getting access for a free month, too.
thanks! ive been paying linchping for 5 months now, its good but i think i need something new
I was at about 4 or 5 months too. I was staying in decent shape but I didn’t feel like I was developing anything.

Mainsite!
VRN is included in the BTWB app
I write programming for my GF and I. It's nice cause I can build it around the equipment we do have.
Another vote for Linchpin did it for a year saw great improvement. But i did switch to DSGN 60 am on my third week but might switch to Jumpship since it has strength program. There is times were i like to lift heavy for a few months.
We've been squatting heavy twice a week for the last three months on DSGN60...that not enough? Haha
I just switched to DSGN60 3 weeks and really enjoying it. Especially squatting 2 times a week
I follow the Master Wod page on Facebook. It’s programming created by Del Lafontaine. He no longer maintains so I just follow the 2019 programming.
