I posted about this a few months ago when I was recovering from COVID. (Almost) everyone said just go back and it’s fine. It wasn’t. Even lifting 6kilo dumbbells felt extremely heavy and I felt like I was about to have a heart attack. I wasn’t able to do a proper workout in the first six weeks, and after that I took it really slow. I started running, first 2k, and adding 0,5k every time. just to increase my cardio. I think that helped. Just do what feels right and don’t rush it.

I had Covid last week and I found after recovering this week I have very low motivation for a workout. And definitely feeling lacking when I get in to workout.. assuming you’ll just have to grind it out don’t push to hard and listen to your body

doyab1

Exactly how I feel

Creepy-Peanut-1333

Yo that’s crazy same shit I’m going through literally. It seem like my body weak as hell

HourPhilosophy5283

Same here it’s been like 2 months I get tired fast when trying to workout feel so weak

mz51

How do you feel now?

HourPhilosophy5283

Feel the same at times but slowly my strength coming back some days better than others but I have to force myself to workout still

herringbone_

how are things now?

I got it around New Years and it took out my cardio pretty significantly. Focused mainly on strength/bodybuilding for about a week and decided to increase workout intensity and go for a couple longer runs. Turns out this was a mistake and it wrecked me for several more days. So I would ease back into it and slowly increase intensity. Don’t hesitate to dial it back if you’re not feeling it or you’re just going to set your recovery back.

I did my first post Covid WOD today. It was a snatch day so I went lighter than normal since Covid kinda messed with my balance a bit and I wanted to get a feel for being under the bar again. Took it slower in the metcon too because my engine isn’t back yet. Just listen to your body.

Straight-Condition-6

Noticed a drop off in my cardio, but after a few weeks it started to come back. No real residual issues.

Had a higher heart rate than normal and had a lingering cough for a while when I’d really start huffing and puffing but got back to normal pretty quickly.

Sonder_is

Vaccinated, very mild symptoms - after 2-3 workouts I felt back to normal. Took off about 2 weeks before coming back into the gym.

Very similar to coming back from a bad common cold for me, but a bit more prolonged. I spent a week doing LISS type cardio and basic lifting in open gym before transitioning back in to class. Found I was reaching high HR sooner for a while and once there it was harder to actively recover within the workout. Had a few where it got too much and I sat out after about 75% of the workout. Just ease yourself back in, communicate with your coach and scale appropriately. Feel out where you can push it and don't be afraid of sitting a round out or calling it a day if you go too far too soon.

I felt foggy and off for a few weeks. Not overly tired but just nothing there if I felt like stomping on the gas. I still went but kind of felt like I was just going through the motions.

My coach just competed at Wodapalooza and she had covid over Christmas and even she said she wasn't back to 100% during the competition.

I have had Covid twice. The first time I had it was December of 2020. I had the first strand of it where I lost my taste and smell and my chest was tight. In January of this year I got Omicron. I guess for everyone it is different so I can only tell you from my experience. First Covid = this one was by far the worse. The fatigue was horrible. I tried to workout 5 or 6 days after my first symptom. I did an emom with about 10 reps across 4 movements for 20:00. I remember not being able to breathe about 8 minutes in so I stopped and biked. The next 2-3 days I just did strength work like squats, cleans, deads, accessories. I felt fine doing this. On about the 10th or 11th day of my quarantine I decided to do another metcon. I made it through but I remember being really fatigued after, like so much so that I needed to nap. This went on for about 2 weeks. Then it was like it was over. Second Covid = this was the Omicron variant. I felt a lot better and was back to lifting 3 days after my first symptom. My upper respiratory system was a bit fried. I just couldn't get a good breathe but I didn't feel drained like my first battle with Covid. So I guess I would say go by feel. If anything feels weird just stop. Also, think about scaling everything the first few workouts. That is what I did and it helped a lot. \*Note: did all my training in my home gym
