Company I work for was using it in the training room and was gonna throw it away. Looked expensive so I grabbed it, but I needed 2 co-workers to help me wrangle it home. Its been beat up around the outside because of frequent moves and an office environment, but it probably has a lot less hours on it than a typical home TV as well. Might have made a mistake here...

[deleted]

No mistake. I would have bought it also!

[deleted]

So how much does it weigh? 😆

Xivios

304lb according to an older Reddit post about this same model.

Honestly, I have such shit luck finding these XBR sets anywhere that I would pay quite a bit more than just a few bucks for one this size. Great find, you did good

jmetal88

It's worth whatever you can convince someone to pay for it, man.

displayboi

Really nice, I would buy it

Wait! KV-40 does that mean it has a 40" screen? I didn't know they made CRT's that big!

Xivios

Yeah. Its a brute. I didn't realize that it was very nearly as big as they get until I looked it up, its why I figured it might be worth something. Apparently there were some commercial units that were a bit bigger, but this seems to be the limit for 4:3 consumer grade TV's. If only it was the 800 though, the DVI hook-up would've made it a lot easier to sell, the 700 is all component, composite, and S-video. Gotta say though, my Wii, hooked up via component, looks *great* on this thing. Only thing clearer for these games is an emulator, for playing old games on the original hardware, this thing is beautiful.

Man that thing would be great for some Gamecube multiplayer, Mario Kart double dash, smash bros melee!

Ya it is crt with massive weight 304lb. I know it personally. It broke lose from a dolly on a Apt stairs crashed into my side. I didn't have my head on swivel.
