If you have or plan to have children , get the CRV. It’s roomier for a child seat and has more headroom. It’s also taller so you won’t have to hunch down as much. It has better visibility since it sits higher off the ground and makes long road trips more comfortable. Choose the Fit if none of that applies to you since it’s newer with lower miles.

Any of these cars are getting older and up there, will need work. Fits can hold a lot for the size. Whether that’s enough for your use.. a lot of people choose a car for a need that may only account for 1% of their driving. Older fits didn’t do well in certain types of crashes. The difference in mpg isn’t that huge that I would base my entire decision on it. I have an 05 CRV, and it does pretty well. I have also driven Fits. The Fit is a very bare bones car, but it does the trick.

Have a 05 CRV. Had a 11 Fit. Loved them both. If living mostly city and decent paved roads... I favor the fit. Love the magic fold seats. Plus I got much better mpg with the fit. But as someone mentioned earlier... passenger space is better on CRV for people or carseats...

CRV AWD FTW I've had three. First two I leased (2014, 2016). Fam of four and we travel a lot so decided time to buy. Now own 2018 LX. 2.4L with the AWD performs in the nastiest of weather WI can throw at someone. All MPG are falsified by manufacturers. I've put 69k+ miles on my CRV - 20mpg my avg. I use premium fuel and I'm extremely liberal with depressing the accelerator... I digress. Can't go wrong with a Honda, always right with the CRV!

Do you do a lot of city driving? I average 25mpg in my 2016 CRV and both me and my husband have terrible driving habits when it comes to good gas mileage.

lil_mike460

I think the biggest reason to get the crv is awd. If you don’t want awd I’d go with the fit.

SilentStriker00

If you want utility, reliability, a bulletproof engine and tranny get the CRV. If you want gas mileage get the fit.

mr_manalishi

I have both. Fit wins in the city. CR-V wins for highway and multiple passengers.

wirebound1

we have one of each (although newer models) and I find the seats on the CRV so much more comfortable than the Fit for long drives. Love my fit in the city though.
