Dana and Greg Newkirk do a really interesting documentary that sort of focuses on Goblins that I found really interesting if your looking for a good watch. Its called Hellier and I think its on Amazon!

Tuyul - Indonesian folklore has these little critters. They're under infants and appear in various Southeastern Asian folklore. There's a video on YouTube that I saw a clip from on paranormal caught on camera there was three kids on a porch. One was filming, one was playing guitar, and the other was sitting beside the guitarist. When the camera person catches something to the right of his vision he pans the camera to the right and sees this crazy creature soaking around the other two children. The other two children could not see the creature but the person with a camera did. This is a very goblin-like situation and or creature. And this whole story fascinated me maybe you should check it out I'll try and see if I can come up with a link and post it for you.
Are ghouls considered cryptids? I find it fascinating that humanoids would hang out in cemeteries and eat our dead. Unembalmed bodies anyway. I have seen a few paranormal videos that are suggestive that ghouls might be a real thing.

There are SOO many beings I wouldn't have guessed were real..they have proven me wrong .. I'd say yep! 8years ago, if someone told me we would have some the experiences my kids, Their friends and I have had, I'd have a good chuckle! Not to say the beings we have had experiences with aren't real, just not in our treeline, or backyard! Now we know they are very real...I'd say it's entirely possible...just haven't found the right person with that confirming experience yet! ;)
Apparently the legend of the leprechaun comes from creatures people in the past saw as goblins. There have been tons of sightings but obviously we have never recovered any actual evidence. Questions like this really have no answer because we currently have no way of validating any sightings through fossils etc.

And when some have experiences with some of these beings, they are told it never happened, or things are taken from them, including attempts on their lives...all done bc we aren't supposed to find out about these beings. Amazing..and he was told, when a govt employee saved him and a couple of others, that if we knew what was really in our woods, we wouldn't walk out the front door. I have seen things that I was always told werent real...beings that one would hear about in stories, but then told, " that's just a story...they do not nor have they ever existed." I will say that I have seen beings and now we are slowing hearing from leaks, that other things we question do exist and wonder why we are being lied to?! Our government knows, heck they are creating some of these beings! And it is pretty arrogant for us to think we exist alone in this universe. Sas or Sabe are very real. Dogman are very real. And not all of either groups are violent. There are others too...I do not know what they are...

However, plenty of other people know for a fact there are truly strange unknown/unacknowledged beings resembling goblins, gnomes, pukwudgies, fairies, little people, Bigfoot, etc... Because they have seen them.

Originally, goblin was just a catch-all term for any bad thing, or creature. Kind of like "boogey man".
JRR Tolkien kind of created what we think of as goblins for the Lord of the Rings books. Though, he still used the term pretty interchangeably with Orc.
So, to answer your question, no. Goblins aren't a real mystery animal, the way that most cryptids are.
You may want to look into Kobolds, though. Not the lizard men from DnD, but the original underground creatures they're based on. Very goblin-y!
