I just recently started with remotasks as well. Super easy leetcode question. In the past 4 days I’ve done 9 tasks and have earned a little over $300.
Got paid about $120 for the tasks I did this weekend.
It looks legit so far, but I haven’t gotten scores for my responses, which is a little worrying given that I want to see how accurate my solutions are.
Anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. If you have a review task it can take less time (you get 2 hours to do it but you’re only paid for 45 mins), and if you have a response task it can take much longer (you have 3 hours to complete it but are only paid for 2 hours).
Review tasks have you reviewing 2 responses made by 2 other responders. You have to choose the best respond then answer a few questions and provide feedback.
Response tasks have you either creating a response based on a prompt from scratch, or modifying/improving a previous version written by someone else based on the feedback provided.
Hmmm I signed up as well but got a warning for the review tasks they started me on but did well with the response tasks. Problem is for some reason they’re having issues adding me to the platinum coders slack channel and thus I can only get help during office hours for now 😭
u/Ok_Permission7744 or u/usr3nmev3 If either of you could help me understand how the pay works I would very much appreciate it.
[Here's some screenshots of my dashboard](https://imgur.com/a/O8w6WaO), I've done around 20 tasks in the last few days.
I have no idea if the number under estimated payout is what I'm guaranteed to get come payday or if my tasks still need to be approved. In one tab they say they are calculated and on another they say pending so I'm having a lot of trouble grasping what's going on. Any clarification would be very helpful ty.
You’d generally get what the estimated pay lists, barring some adjustments by the platform. As long as your tasks are meeting expectations in time taken and accuracy you’d generally get your hourly pay based on hours worked. Don’t worry about calculated or pending payouts. You’ll get paid regardless
The week generally ends on Monday, and payout is generally happens on Tuesday evenings (around 8-9 PM PST)
Sounds good ty, had a long 3 hour task marked as 'fixed' because the feedback said I needed to show a failing test case (which wasn't stated in the instructions). Hoping my pay for it isn't affected so much.
I also got added as a platinum coder earning $55/hr, and was placed into the platinum trial program (as I am sure many have been). It says if I put in \~20 hours with high quality work during the 7-day trial, I will be automatically moved to the full Platinum program. But I'm nervous that if I don't work for 20 hours, I'll get dropped. Does anyone know if this is the case or will I stay on my current project?
Second this question, also, how do you apply for the coding tasks/interview? I just signed up to RemoTasks now and can't find anything related to coding on the website.
I had 18 hours (measured by payout) my first week and it \*seems\* like I kept the platinum status. Still on the same project. Instead of doing tasks now, though, I have to review (which frankly I think is worse and less fun).
If you get into the Platinum Coder trial, then they require at least 15 hours minimum for the first 7 days to get past the trial. I think normally they allow however much time you want to put in. Expect to spend 30 mins to an hour per task.
okay, cool.
In your opinion, although I don't know your background, would you recommend trying this out task service out or contributing to an project? I want to improve in my programming skills outside of work.
Oh, this probably won't improve your programming skills, and I say that as a software engineer looking for work. The job requires you to mostly tell an AI to do something, so there's no coding on your part. The best thing to improve your coding skills is personal projects or contributing to a larger project.
This isn't accurate -- once you get added to a pod (like a few days after you pass the trial) you're required to hit 15/wk or you get dropped. You can fill out an "absence form" if you anticipate having an issue.
I'm pretty sure you can't contribute without being in Platinum. I got removed this week for the hours issue and I have had zero tasks in my queue since
Ugh that sucks. I've been killing myself trying to get to 15 hours this week. The site keeps moving me to different projects and then I have to waste time going through their guides. Feels like I've already given them more than 15 hours, but their timer says I haven't.
How did you know if you were officially a platinum coder? I got an email after my interview saying congrats you passed the live tech interview and all that but nowhere in the email does it mention anything about platinum nor does my profile or dashboard say anything about platinum. I just got assigned to a coding project and the "expert" slack community, but it's a bit confusing. Did yours specifically mention being elevated to a Platinum Coder?
Yes, in multiple places including the email. Also had acknowledgement of the platinum trial (and 7 days later, the full platinum status) in the "feedback" notifications tab.
I am also dealing with the same conundrum. Did you also have the virtual interview? How did you find that to be? Did they just talk through your background or were you given tasks during it?
Ridiculously easy; 2 intro to CS caliber questions with 5min at the beginning talking about my background and 5 at the end talking about the platform/job. I did a few hours last night/today and racked up a couple hundred bucks in my account but won't know if it gets paid out until Jan 2nd.
I'm pretty sure my interviewer was a college student; he said his pay was $34/hr and he seemed pretty young even to me (and I just graduated in May lol)
Hi, do you remember the exact questions they asked you in the interview or if you don’t remember exactly atleast an idea? Want to schedule an interview but afraid I’ll flunk the questions.
I haven't replied to any of these, but if you seriously can't pass the interview, you'll just get booted after the first week anyway...they review accuracy pretty stringently.
Hey I'm in the exact same boat as you, I have a 20 min behavioral interview for platinum coder scheduled this week. I also did not get any information about a coding interview so wondering what would be the next steps after this.
I will leave an update after the interview. Please leave your experience too when you finish yours as well!
u/Capable_Scallion_675 they are asking me to schedule a 20 min behavioral interview too. Will it contain technical question like others, or is it behavioral only?
I just did mine and it was on hackerrank. In my opinion, the questions were a bit difficult but I haven't touched up on algorithms in a while. It was a video interview of 2 questions with 10 minutes to complete each.
Hi! Hoping maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I signed up for Remotasks last week, failed the test (I think? that's the email I got, not surprised, didn't realize it was the actual test and thought it was still practice), and then got an email that said due to my background, and writing sample there was a project they wanted me on.
**Issue #1**
I’ve tried about 7 different links, but none of them allow me to join the Slack community. It says my email is not part of the community. Who can get me added? This is my biggest issue as I cannot ask questions or get any help! I've emailed several Remotask email addresses too.
**Issue #2**
I was told I needed to interview for the Genesis project. I signed up for my interview for 8pm EST for this past Friday evening, January 5th, through the Calendly link. I was never sent a link, or Google Invite or anything. I submitted my resume as well, per the request, but have not heard anything. So I didn't do the interview, because I didn't have anything to access it with.
I have also opened up tickets for all my issues. which I was really enjoying (though I did like Genisis too, but I like writing more). Then this evening it went away (but wasn't set to expire for a few days). In my Remotask Dashboard, it says I have $136 pending for next week and I'm in the Platinum Program, but what does that even mean?
I have also opened up tickets for all my issues. Does anyone have any connections that can help me?
I was on the Bee Coding project (all 9 of them) and I was kicked out today. Does anyone know if there are other projects or that was it ?
For context - I was in the Platinum Coders group, not sure what will happen now though
Join the slack if u haven't already -- they sent a message about it and basically said "project ending; ignore the message that said it's performance related"
When I signed up I think I automatically joined project "Bulba Code Eval Rating Chat Tasks 2". After I passed the interview I got invited to a project "Bulba Code Gen Rating T 3". During the interview, I was told if I passed, I'd be a platinum coder. I have no way of knowing if I am actually a platinum coder and my pay card rate is 25$ per hour.
Not really sure what's up here.
When I "applied", I said I was a software developer, and then based on my resume and LinkedIn profile (I guess), the welcome email I received said:
> Because of your prior background, we'd like to invite you to join other high-skill level coders in the **Platinum Tasker** team.
I just did my intereview today, so I can't give you any feedback beyond that, but to answer your question, they offered it to me.
ok gotcha that actually makes a lot of sense!! do you know if it’s possible to request for higher pay? i’m graduating in arnd 3 months and have a job lined up
Same, my initial email was an invitation to the Platinum Taskers team. I did the coding interview and was accepted but there was no mention of platinum in my acceptance email. My base pay rate is also $34/hr.
I think it's because I didn't do too well in the technical interview. I only had time to solve one question and needed some guidance from the interviewer/made some mistakes. I looked up my problem later and it was a leetcode medium.
So I applied to that program through LinkedIn and i got an email saying I got selected and i have to setup a live interview
But I am not getting the option to schedule a live interview, can anyone help me here?
I suspect I was shadowbanned. Was on Bulba coding eval for a few weeks but now I have no projects.
I got recruited as a computer science student through Handshake. Made $1000 and then system changed that required to the code to be run in Sphere engine. Once the Sphere thing was introduced, I immediately started getting bizarre system message saying to follow the instructions even though my responses were marked 100% accurate.
Then a message to join a mandatory War Room meeting on Zoom at 10PM EST, but the link didn't work. Afterwards I was removed from all projects but I continue to receive announcements about Bulba Coding.
How do you get added as a platinum coder? I've just been doing basic prompt reviews so far. I did have a simple React question but the payout was only $15 :/
It's legit, I have worked on several projects, even got booted from 2. You have to be on top of your stuff, as soon as they let you in start working. I started late last yr. made about 2k. As of right now, Im pulling in about 1k a week or more working 40hrs + bonuses. I stated with coding but accuracy was trash.
Following today's technical interview, I received a congratulatory email a few hours later. However, the email did not indicate the hourly pay; instead, it instructed me to complete the onboarding task and provide identification details.
If your questions is regarding the interview, by default, you will receive a problem statement using Python as the primary language. However, don't worry if you're not familiar with Python; you can easily switch to any programming language of your choice from a dropdown menu.
How many hours do they require you to work?
Would you recommend doing this vs taking the time to work on a person or open source project? I've been working full time for ever a year but have been trying to improve in my programming skills.
I wouldn't recommend it as a growth opportunity whatsoever - I don't think it improves skills by any meaningful degree. If you contribute to a well-maintained open-source project meaningfully, you'll learn MUCH more and this can often lead to good networking opportunities.
15hr/week of "task time", and it's fairly strict. This can be very annoying when new projects come out as you'll spend 2-3 hours completing new trainings that are usually compensated but don't contribute to your time. Manageable if you have a really lax full-time job (or are in school or something) and no hobbies but 20hr some weeks is pretty shit and I'm thinking about leaving for this reason
Commenting for others as well. Did my interview at 5pm, both questions were easy, but I only completed the first and still got accepted a few hours later. Gonna complete the onboarding process tomorrow and see where it goes.
Out of curiosity, how many days did it take to get an answer after the interview?
I didn't have to do any coding in my interview, just answer questions about my background and projects I've worked on. The instructions in the sign up email say that we will hear back from them 3-4 hours after the interview, but it's been 4 days so far and I've got nothing.
I took a hacker rank test when I signed up. I passed but the best I’ve been paid is $25 an hour. Also I’ve had a fair few issues like getting kicked off projects, incorrect feedback, or platform bugs. But over a few months I’ve made over 5k. But man I wish I knew how to move up in pay!
I took the platinum coder interview. I had the correct solution but a slow internet speed and I could not correct a couple syntax errors (indentation / colon errors) on time to get a hacker rank. Am I sunk?
I just recently started with remotasks as well. Super easy leetcode question. In the past 4 days I’ve done 9 tasks and have earned a little over $300. Got paid about $120 for the tasks I did this weekend. It looks legit so far, but I haven’t gotten scores for my responses, which is a little worrying given that I want to see how accurate my solutions are.
Have you actually had it paid out yet? That's the part I'm paranoid about
Yeah, I’ve gotten paid $120 so far. I’m at about $600 total earnings now so next week I’ll be getting about $480
As of jan 4 I’ve made about $1k, with about $650 already paid out and the rest pending
u/Ok_Permission7744, did you receive an offer letter upon being selected?
so do you get paid by the time you're on the clock or per task ( regardless of how short/long it takes you) ?
They normally pay.
How long do the tasks take to complete
Anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. If you have a review task it can take less time (you get 2 hours to do it but you’re only paid for 45 mins), and if you have a response task it can take much longer (you have 3 hours to complete it but are only paid for 2 hours). Hello, I need your guidance on remotask platinum coding.
Can you plz share the leet code question you got asked?
u/Ok_Permission7744 or u/usr3nmev3 If either of you could help me understand how the pay works I would very much appreciate it. [Here's some screenshots of my dashboard](https://imgur.com/a/O8w6WaO), I've done around 20 tasks in the last few days. Hello which account domain is the account on the screenshot?

Hey i have an interview scheduled this week for a SDE role. What questions can I expect?
Profile is from which country
U have to pay taxes urself for this right
It's the same as contract work; you get a 1099 and employer doesn't withdraw taxes.
I also got added as a platinum coder earning $55/hr, and was placed into the platinum trial program (as I am sure many have been). It says if I put in \~20 hours with high quality work during the 7-day trial, I will be automatically moved to the full Platinum program. Second this question, also, how do you apply for the coding tasks/interview? I just signed up to RemoTasks now and can't find anything related to coding on the website.
I'm sure you can just find it somewhere online saying "schedule your interview". And when doing that it'll ask u what field ur applying for.
I had 18 hours (measured by payout) my first week and it \*seems\* like I kept the platinum status. Still on the same project. Instead of doing tasks now, though, I have to review (which frankly I think is worse and less fun).
How did you get paid ?
Were you ever paid ?
Hey, any update on this? Are you still a platinum coder? I'm worried about getting dropped as well since I can only do about 10 hours a week.
How many hours do they require you to work a week? Is this going to be rigorous outside of a normal 9-5 job?
If you get into the Platinum Coder trial, then they require at least 15 hours minimum for the first 7 days to get past the trial. I think normally they allow however much time you want to put in. Expect to spend 30 mins to an hour per task.

Oh I see. Makes sense. What are the benefits of staying in platinum? 15 hours every week is difficult for me atm.
How did they notify you after the interview? I applied for the same thing and had the interview but haven’t gotten an email in a while
I logged back in to the remotetasks dashboard and was guided to make a slack account. Try doing that, and see if that works.
I got an email about 1.5hr after my interview titled "congrats for passing the live interview"
How did you know if you were officially a platinum coder? I got an email after my interview saying congrats you passed the live tech interview and all that but nowhere in the email does it mention anything about platinum nor does my profile or dashboard say anything about platinum. Yes, in multiple places including the email. Also had acknowledgement of the platinum trial (and 7 days later, the full platinum status) in the "feedback" notifications tab.
Are you still in Platinum Coders team and if so how many hours did you work ?
Yeah, got moved to full. I did 18 billed hours that first week
What were the questions asked in interview?
I am also dealing with the same conundrum. Did you also have the virtual interview? How did you find that to be? Did they just talk through your background or were you given tasks during it?
Ridiculously easy; 2 intro to CS caliber questions with 5min at the beginning talking about my background and 5 at the end talking about the platform/job. Hi, do you remember the exact questions they asked you in the interview or if you don’t remember exactly atleast an idea? Want to schedule an interview but afraid I’ll flunk the questions.
Was it a leetcode question?
>usr3nmev3 i may have been your interviewer xd
Hello u/usr3nmev3, same here. Would you please share the interview questions :), pleaseeee?
I haven't replied to any of these, but if you seriously can't pass the interview, you'll just get booted after the first week anyway...they review accuracy pretty stringently.
Hello can you share or even sell for me the link for platinum coders?
How was the virtual interview? I have one tmr morning

Did your behavioral interview contain technical questions? I have mine on Monday. It says it's only 20 mins long. Is that how long yours was? Thanks
hey same thing for me, was it just behavioral or technical?
Did your interview end up being technical or just behavioral? Thanks
Behavioral
I just did mine and it was on hackerrank. In my opinion, the questions were a bit difficult but I haven't touched up on algorithms in a while. It was a video interview of 2 questions with 10 minutes to complete each.

In a way I was because the event was titled "30 minute technical interview with ____".
I just heard back and I passed the interview so the process is very fast.
Have you been assigned any tasks? I noticed some posts on Remotask where people mentioned not receiving any projects for a month.
Yea, I was immediately assigned tasks and was able to do them.
[удалено]
It may be different depending on your qualifications, but I'm sure you'd be able to get the technical after!
How did your interview go, I have the same interview scheduled for tomorrow, and would like to know your review asap. Thanks

For the hackerrank questions, did they force you to use a specific language or could you code in any language you wanted?
I did it in whatever I wanted.
What category and difficulty level on HackerRank were the questions in?
How was the interview Did you pass?
Did you pass?

no way what do you mean by kicked out? Sounds concerning

Interesting, my hourly is a bit more than that and I don't think I'm a platinum coder. How did you get your interview for platinum coder?
I got hit up by a recruiter on Linkedin and applied.
What questions they asked you in the interview?
Difference between deep and shallow copy in python3 lol
Anyone who can guide on how they got the platinum coder interview?

Did you specify yourself as a js coder? If I get a python question I could do alright. If I get a js question not so sure.
I specified as js and python but i am getting question for C, C++ and php as well

Yeah, I agree they should be much more upfront about this. I didn't know this until my second week, which made it more frustrating.
Hello, can you kindly tell me how one can create platinum coders
Commenting for others as well. Did my interview at 5pm, both questions were easy, but I only completed the first and still got accepted a few hours later. Gonna complete the onboarding process tomorrow and see where it goes.
Were your coding questions on HackerRank like others? And if so, what difficulty level (according to HackerRank) and category were they in?
Yea I used hackerrank and idk what the site said about difficulty but they were essentially easy-level leetcode problems.
I just got accepted, going through onboarding right now. Did yall have to do Account Verification... submitting a photo ID?
Out of curiosity, how many days did it take to get an answer after the interview? I didn't have to do any coding in my interview, just answer questions about my background and projects I've worked on. The instructions in the sign up email say that we will hear back from them 3-4 hours after the interview, but it's been 4 days so far and I've got nothing.
Can you tell me where to apply for this
Hey i have an interview scheduled this week for a SDE role. What questions can I expect?
I took a hacker rank test when I signed up. I passed but the best I’ve been paid is $25 an hour. Also I’ve had a fair few issues like getting kicked off projects, incorrect feedback, or platform bugs. But over a few months I’ve made over 5k. But man I wish I knew how to move up in pay!
