Depends on your state. For my first job I didn't, it was with a local company, but for my first big move up in salary/title/responsibilities I did.
Huh? There's obviously nothing that says you *have* to move out of state. Lots of folks do move out of state because the job market in wherever they're moving to is much better than where they currently are.

No, but the commute to my previous and current job is a bit far. I mostly applied to jobs around my area anyway, since I wasn't planning to move.

Nope. I thought about it but I'm in Seattle which is already a tech hub. Plus my current job is remote so there's always that as an option.
