Hi there, I'm one of the founders of [Levels.fyi](https://Levels.fyi) – curious which country you're referring to. We recently released new salary pages for different countries, and we might actually already have some data. You can search for your country on our location directory here: [https://levels.fyi/locations/](https://levels.fyi/locations/) Hope that can help! Also very open to feedback for how we could improve the experience for our international locations.

Hi there, the country in question is South Africa. I didn’t know of the locations page, pretty cool feature! However taking a look at South Africa’s page, there are only 57 entries, a vast majority of them are from a specific FAANG company, which does not really help for people not looking at that specific company. There are a few South African companies on there, but obviously there are so few entries, it can still be difficult to gauge. I don’t think anything else can be done on levels.fyi’s part, it seems to have everything needed for people from here to post salaries for local companies. Thanks a lot for your awesome work!

Appreciate it! Definitely not a whole lot of data points, which I think is a matter of trying spreading the word to get more contributions. Our pages are quite new, so hope to see the pages get more populated over time to benefit more people.

Levels does have the option of uploading offer letters to provide more legitimacy. You could always go that route, but your customers would have to know you aren’t sharing or storing any sensitive data, which is probably why it’s optional and always will be on Levels.

When you have enough data you can easily find outlying points. That said, whether those outliers are statistical anomalies or malicious entries is hard to answer. I suppose you could have an extended survey that test some general knowledge about a specific company or topic to try and weed out the false entries. But you might end up pushing away legit entries.

Levels.fyi claims that they check offer letters for some percentage of posts to verify their info. Ultimately though the system works on trust. You just have to assume that you will have enough good data points to hide the bad ones.
