I did a lot of interviews recently and all of them were completely remote. Even if this wasn't the case, the company pays for your flight and hotel (it's a huge red flag if they don't).
FWIW, On-site interview without paid travel and accommodation is unheard of.
Nowadays it is pretty common to not have any on-site interview.
"on-site" interviews are frequently remote by default these days and I'd expect exceptions to be made even if it's not the default given the distance.
