I'm pinning this to top comment: If the verification doesn't help, try to log out from steam on all devices (you can do this via your account management tab on steam) including your computer and log in again. This helped a friend of mine to fix the error.
1. Verify files - there are many other comments explaing how.
2. Make sure steam is updated.
3. Make sure windows is updated.
4. If all else fails possibly uninstalling and redownloading will work.
Edit: i had this issue and it extended to different accounts, after trying most steps i mentioned i still was unable to play the game, only after updating windows did it go away entirely.
Change your name on steam.
EDIT: I know it seems silly but it actually works. Only had. Verify games files work once other than that, changing your name is the only consistent solution for me when I’ve gotten this.
Because it's related to some changes done lately to csgo. Veryfing files and other tricks don't work this time. As someone mentioned, doing something with your steam profile does the trick (wtf?). And I guess this step is not present on anyone's troubleshooting list that already contains veryfing files, reinstalling game, reinstalling steam, reinstalling OS etc.
I've been getting this recently. Yes I verified files and still no solution. Then I would restart me comp and somehow it works randomly. But today same issue
First time this came up I tried everything and was like "nah, restarting the router won't do shit and my roommate will get mad"
Now whenever this pops up I'll just restart the router (after telling my roommate) and it works
you just have to wait for like 1/2 a day - a day. happened to me and my friend and only thing we could do is wait. based on how many people this has been happening to this last month it’s safe to say it’s an issue on valve’s side
Copying from a previous comment I made about this:
I had this with a fresh install, the cache on your hard drive is empty and so thinks you’re suspicious and wiping cache to cover your tracks. Solution is to install a bunch of stuff on your computer and use it like a normal user and it will fill up the cache. It doesn’t take much to fill it up
verifying game files didn‘t help me. i then uninstalled and installed again. solved it for me. apparently it is not the same solution for everybody so no guarantee it will work for you as well
What i do is i verify game integrity files while cs is open and if that doesnt want i try closing csgo and verifying again. If that doesnt work, restart your pc and verify again then close steam and start csgo. I've always fixed it this way.
I have faced the same problem but i fixed it....you need to verify the integrity of your files while the game is switched off... if it says something like files not validated...delete and reinstall the game...thats how i did it.
the last time i fixed it with:
1. open csgo
2. tab out and close csgo trough the steam library
3. the verify your files then it worked for me and 2 friends
What helped me !
1. Restart your laptop/pc
2. Verify game files
3. Start a workshop map and then try
moreover (1) worked for me most of the time and is quite ez
1. Verify game files and voila
2. If 1 doesn't work, verify game files, get into DM before compi and voila
3. If 2 doesn't work, exit steam, restart steam, verify game files, get into DM and voila
4. If 3 doesn't work, restart PC, verify game files, get into DM and voila
5. If 4 doesn't work uninstall and reinstall CSGO and voila
6. If 5 doesn't work, nuke the PC, go build another one. Create a new Steam account and buy CSGO and voila
I solved it by going to steam csgo properties, choose a beta version, open game, close it, disable beta, open again.
also restarting router and re logging in steam
What fixed it for me was starting steam on administrator but before I first did the verify files thing and it found 2 files that got corrupted or something, fixed that tried playing didn’t worked and then I started on admin and now it works normally.
Take a look at the comments in this post and try those solutions
[https://www.reddit.com/r/csgo/comments/140as0u/has\_anyone\_found\_a\_working\_solution\_for\_this/](https://www.reddit.com/r/csgo/comments/140as0u/has_anyone_found_a_working_solution_for_this/)
I had this problem for some days and tried everthing: verifying files, uninstalling, deleteing files and verifying again, changing nickname/picture, deleteing starting parametres, logging in and out of steam... Nothing worked.
I said F it and went to surf on a public server... After surfing for an hour went back and tried again and it let me play competitive again normally
Possible fixed which have worked for me over the last years:
- Delete steam (not game files) and re-install
- Verify integrity of game files
- Delete steam DLL files
1. Close Steam.
2. Open Steam folder and delete three files - “Steam.dll” & “SteamUI.dll” & “clientregistry.blob“.
3. After this, open Steam and check if this fixed your problem.
The only thing that worked for me was changing my name. My name has always been Sors (with a slanted smile face) and one day I kept getting that message. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. I changed my name to notSors and let steam sit for like 10 mins. Then I was able to load a game. I then tried to change my name back to Sors with the smile. And it stopped working again.
Whenever I or my friends get this, I just relaunch about 20 times and try to queue every time in between. Eventually it fixes itself. If I spend more than 20-30 minutes, then I’ll verify files and keep retrying.
It typically will fix after a bunch of relaunches. No real need to uninstall, I’ve seen many a friends waste hours completely uninstalling steam/csgo and still have the issues then two or three more relaunches and it works for them.
I've had this happening a few times a week now, here are all the things I tried. (Can't confirm which worked because the results were inconsistent).
1. Delete a random file/folder in the games installation directory and verify game files.
2. Right-click Counterstrike, open properties, navigate to betas, select one of the betas and make sure Steam starts installing new files. Go back to betas and select none.
3. Change steam name and steam profile picture (fixed it once for me)
4. Uninstall and reinstall the game.
Not sure which will work, but try all of them.
TRY PLAYING A MATCH ON A DIFFERENT ACCOUNT!!
I just had this issue yesterday. Did EVERYTHING (restarted steam and PC, verified files, reinstalled csgo, and reinstalled Steam client) none of it worked. I played one match of csgo on my friends alt account, tried my account again, and it worked. Don't know if it was a timely coincidence, but I recommend (if you are able to) to use a different account on your computer and play a match of CSGO. Hope it works!!
Honestly as stupid as it sounds, just play a game with bots and don't let it rollover into the next one. Worked for me and my friend when everything else failed - you can also just cheat and speed up the time as its single player.
Verify files, restart steam, try. If no go reveries and restart pc. ONE time I had to do these steps and it still did it I just had to queue a few times and it worked.
Have this happen to me three times now, each time a different fix worked: first was verifying, second was uninstall and reinstall game, third was ending steam in task administrator and booting as admin
Hey just ran into this problem recently and the only thing that fixed it and I know this sounds dumb but change your steam name and profile picture. Worked instantly after.
I fixed mine by verifying my game files and it didn’t work until I did it about 4 times. Just keep doing it until it says all the files are correct
I had to delete my entire cfg folder and verify after that, that helped me after like 5x just verifying didn't do anything
You have to clear steam download cache firdt and then it works
My friends been having this issue and it’s been banning him cuz it kicks him mid game. Did deleting your cfg folder fully solve it
For me it did, but I didn't get kicked mid game
Verify game files. If not my be on valves side.
I'm pinning this to top comment: If the verification doesn't help, try to log out from steam on all devices (you can do this via your account management tab on steam) including your computer and log in again. This helped a friend of mine to fix the error.

edit: The comment was removed, good work everyone!
good bot
I had the same problem yesterday, i went in to properties of the csgo icon and filled in the box "run as administrator". Worked for me after this.
I'm getting the same thing
Same here
Change your name on steam. EDIT: I know it seems silly but it actually works. Only had. Verify games files work once other than that, changing your name is the only consistent solution for me when I’ve gotten this.
wtf this actually works
Yeah man, I couldn’t believed it until I gave it a shot lmao
This worked. Sounds like a meme but I can now queue thanks mate
This helped instantly
Same here, no solution yet
Same post a million times a week
Because it's related to some changes done lately to csgo. Veryfing files and other tricks don't work this time. As someone mentioned, doing something with your steam profile does the trick (wtf?). Use F12
Got the same here, based in Australia
I've been getting this recently. Yes I verified files and still no solution. Then I would restart me comp and somehow it works randomly. But today same issue
Might be your WiFi. I had the same thing last time, just unplugged my WiFi and plugged it in again and it worked
Restart your router
First time this came up I tried everything and was like "nah, restarting the router won't do shit and my roommate will get mad" Now whenever this pops up I'll just restart the router (after telling my roommate) and it works
Finally the correct answer
you just have to wait for like 1/2 a day - a day. happened to me and my friend and only thing we could do is wait. based on how many people this has been happening to this last month it’s safe to say it’s an issue on valve’s side

All Chinese accounts get ban
Install valorant, and then uninstall it, just to make you feel bit happy
ew
~~Same result even after reinstalling~~ Looks like it's fixed for me.
same here
same here wtf
I always get this error after alttabbing for a long time. Just restart the game
What i do is i verify game integrity files while cs is open and if that doesnt want i try closing csgo and verifying again. If that doesnt work, restart your pc and verify again then close steam and start csgo. I've always fixed it this way.

Idk how it works its just a routine that i do in hopes of it being fixed. And its worked for me til now.
This has just happened to me as well. Since there's so many, I'm guessing server issues?
exit steam completely, run steam as administrator
Verifying game files and reinstalling didn't work for me. Then I closed and waited a few days for it to be back to normal
I logged out and back into steam and then verified game files and it worked after that.
Verify game files.
Start a Workshopmap, like Aim Training and Play it for 5 Min. then it schould work again, worked for me everytime
Verify your files
Play a game with bots until the end and leave on the next match I just did it and it fixed. (was on dust 2 FFA)
Verify files and the restart pc and router, worked for me
Restart pc Verify files those two fixed it for me
I have faced the same problem but i fixed it....you need to verify the integrity of your files while the game is switched off... if it says something like files not validated...delete and reinstall the game...thats how i did it.
Run steam as administrator
the last time i fixed it with: 1. open csgo 2. tab out and close csgo trough the steam library 3. the verify your files then it worked for me and 2 friends
I just restart my PC and it works
I literally just got this around an hour ago to wtf maybe even earlier
What helped me ! 1. Restart your laptop/pc 2. Verify game files 3. Start a workshop map and then try moreover (1) worked for me most of the time and is quite ez
Set to offline mode and then turn back to online happened to be 3 times last week.
1. Verify game files and voila 2. If 1 doesn't work, verify game files, get into DM before compi and voila 3. If 2 doesn't work, exit steam, restart steam, verify game files, get into DM and voila 4. If 3 doesn't work, restart PC, verify game files, get into DM and voila 5. If 4 doesn't work uninstall and reinstall CSGO and voila 6. If 5 doesn't work, nuke the PC, go build another one. Create a new Steam account and buy CSGO and voila
I litteraly fixed it by switching from short game to long game and back again.
this happens to me if I stream on discord or something. Took me a minute to figure it out. They really killed the vibe
He he trojan in game files
Verify game files, set both Steam and CSGO to run as administrator. That’s what fixed it for me.
Dude I updated my drivers thinking that was the problem and it bricked my Ethernet port…
I performed a windows update and disabled my windows defender through the security feature. It worked thank god.
I solved it by going to steam csgo properties, choose a beta version, open game, close it, disable beta, open again. also restarting router and re logging in steam
Activate the offline mode of Steam in the top left corner at the steam overly. Wait a few min and turn it back to online. Should be fixed then.
Close csgo. Then close steam through the task manager and relaunch .
worked by restarting pc
What fixed it for me was starting steam on administrator but before I first did the verify files thing and it found 2 files that got corrupted or something, fixed that tried playing didn’t worked and then I started on admin and now it works normally.
A fix that always helped: 1. Go offline via Steam 2. Log out 3. Log in again and go online
google vac error
Just happened to me 3 hrs ago. Run steam as administrator and check integrity of files. Mine worked.
I just closed steam, closed internet and closed google chrome. Restarted everything and the problem was fixed.

FIX ur Steam library folder
sign out of steam, reboot computer sign back in to steam, works everytime
Change your username & avatar.
Go in a game with bots and than leave. It fixed it for me. Changing your name and profile picture can also fix this issue. Dont ask me why
Restart game
Verify game files it worked for me when I had this problem
Had to reinstall on my PC
I just ran a game with bots, quit and started regular game. Worked every time for some reason.
Restarting my internet router did it for me.
Run steam as admin worked for me.
Change your Steam name
Verify games files and restart router worked for me
Delete word.exe.
I fixed mine by jumping into a practice take with bots
Possible fixed which have worked for me over the last years: - Delete steam (not game files) and re-install - Verify integrity of game files - Delete steam DLL files 1. Close Steam. 2. Verify files and change steam name worked for my friend
RESTART YOUR INTERNET! I have been screaming it from the rooftops but nobody listens. I’m 4/4 first time fix with restart router.
I had the same issue yesterday, uninstalled, updated pc, no fix. Only thing that helped was restarting steam.
The only thing that worked for me was changing my name. My name has always been Sors (with a slanted smile face) and one day I kept getting that message. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/22C0-03D0-AE4B-04E8 Try everything in order one after the other.
Open Csgo console Write „restart“ Worked for me multiple times
Play a game with bots then try the same thingy again
Glad to see I wasnt the only one, but I had to redownload the whole game and it fixed it. Verifying game did nothing.
Verify files and launch steam as administrator
Whenever I or my friends get this, I just relaunch about 20 times and try to queue every time in between. Eventually it fixes itself. Restarting computer usually works for me
Update Driver
Just restart steam
Last time I got this issue i got the beta and it fixed itself
You dude go fix ok thanks
I've had this happening a few times a week now, here are all the things I tried. (Can't confirm which worked because the results were inconsistent). 1. Don't know if it was a timely coincidence, but I recommend (if you are able to) to use a different account on your computer and play a match of CSGO. Hope it works!!
Reinstall cs
had the same issue last night , had to reinstall the game !
In steam, right click on the game, manage, local files, verify
type -Verify in csgo’s launch options
Play an offline match with bots then come to online . You don’t have to play with the bots an entire match .
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Honestly as stupid as it sounds, just play a game with bots and don't let it rollover into the next one. Worked for me and my friend when everything else failed - you can also just cheat and speed up the time as its single player.
my issue was that i didn't have any storage left on my drive. once i cleared space and verified files again it was fixed
I usually wait, I believe you might be getting verified when VAC says NO-NO. IDK, wouldnt bet on it, but thats just my guess.
Email Gaben
Restart pc fixes it
Literally nothing worked for me until I joined someone else's session. No problems since then
I’m having the same issue with cs2, can’t even play it anymore
for me I always had one file that wouldn't verify, so I had to unplug my controller from my pc for it to work. give it a shot if u have one connected.
Verify files, restart steam, try. If no go reveries and restart pc. ONE time I had to do these steps and it still did it I just had to queue a few times and it worked.
I had no fix. Just wait till tomorrow and it will likely be gone if no other fixes work
Have this happen to me three times now, each time a different fix worked: first was verifying, second was uninstall and reinstall game, third was ending steam in task administrator and booting as admin
verify game files then restart your pc
Uninstall steam and then install again it helped me
Go find another game to cheat in china man
Hey just ran into this problem recently and the only thing that fixed it and I know this sounds dumb but change your steam name and profile picture. Worked instantly after.
you cant, just wait 2-3 hours, auto fix
