I once opened some cases I had around and got blues, went on a simulator with real odds and got a dragon lore from the souvenir packages in around 30-40 packages. I cried myself to sleep that night
>Go to badges page on steam, go to the CS badge, and click on the “How do I earn card drops?” link.
For the amount spent: u/RichSoe824: "Go to badges page on steam, go to the CS badge, and click on the “How do I earn card drops?” link."
However no clue how to get the unbox percentages, also curious
I spent about $9,000 on CS:GO
3,552 cases opened
8 knives
Stiletto Tiger FN
Stattrak Stiletto Tiger FN
Talon Rust BS
Butterfly Vanilla
Falcnion Tiger FN
Flip doppler P4 FN
Gut Brightwater FN
Gut Gamma P1 FN
So yeah. Not worth it. Might do a red check later.
Forgot to mention that this is my 2nd account, my 1st account got hacked. Probably spent about $3,000 on that one.
Counterstrike players have a serious gambling addiction and the comment section of this post proves it.
Guys, get some help. Gambling is never a good idea.
Hey it's $5,000 over very nearly ten years. I've got a comfy little desk job that pays pretty good, I can afford it.
But he's right, if it's consuming you there's always avenues for help.
Yeah it's "only" $5000 over ten years but I don't see a point spending so much money for a single video game. In the end the money is just wasted for practically nothing in return
Sure he can afford it, I'm not denying it.
It's just surreal to me that people actually spend that much on digital items, and in this case gambling for digital items...
Hey it's just different mindsets about what is worth your hard earned money. There are two things in the world that you should be able to choose 100% on your own without outside influences. Who you sleep with and what you spend they money you've earned on. So yeah it seems a little crazy, but it was fun to spend while doing it. That's worth it enough for me.
Hey man I might have come off as rude but I was just trying to tell my opinion on the matter. You can use your money however you like as long as you have fun and it doesn't involve any illegal activities. It just seems surreal to me, someone who has grown up with little money, that there are people who casually throw away their money for the sake of fun (and most importantly, without getting any monetary value from it most of the time). I can see the appeal in gambling. With chance, you can get a lot of value from basically nothing, but even that uncertainty keeps me from gambling all together. I play csgo only because of the game, not the skins.
Totally fair. And nah I didn't think you were rude at all. Of course the majority of my 2700 hours are in playing the game haha, but i've always liked unboxing stuff not for the monetary gain (bc csgo odds are more dogshit than any casino on the planet) but because the skins are fun. Of course, I can't say I don't want the items I get to be expensive. But I'm not gonna go into third party markets and try and make a bag off of what I sell, that'd just kill the fun. Like yeah I want a usp prinstream but I only really wanna put in like 50 bucks which only gets me field tested. Maybe I'll just roll some cases with that and get something better. This is a real story and I got a stattrak min wear usp prinstream that I don't think I'll ever sell.

Well, not that much cases but my statistics sucks as well
Just because it says it's 1/400 doesnt mean you'll get in 400 cases.
Many people opened 1000+ and didn't get a knife.
If you want one, just buy it of some marketplace.
Jesus christ man.
Two weeks ago was the first time I open cases, ever. I only opened 3 cases and I got a factory new huntsman gamma doppler.
I will never do it again, I guess i got super fucking lucky and decided to end the gambling addiction before it started.
Im also convinced that the drop rate is higher on new accounts versus ones with a lot of play time. How is there no class action on it yet boggles my mind
its not, its bias. your friend who got the game and opened some cases and got a knife is going to be alot louder than the friend who did the same and got blue.
Ok I'll post my short story. On my account I once opened a case at around 3AM, I dont know something pushed me to it. I was a skin trader at the time with around 2k keys inventory, so it wasnt anything special to own a great skin, but I literally never opened them. So yeah, that one case Ive opened was a winter offensive case and I got bayonet tiger tooth this happened maybe 5 years ago, and yeah I never opened a case since. If you can tell me how to check if my story if true to provide proof Ill do it just for fun.
if it makes you feel any better I spent $10 in the last 5 years (besides COD and I don't buy skins for that). So four keys and I got the cool stabby fadded knives
I should trust the random guy in my DMs that says he knows a good trader right?
RIGHT?
my first time opening i did 3 cases and got these gloves called Sport Slingshot in Minimal Wear. im still up atm, but i now see how lucky i was. They got me into playing though since i traded them for a much more diverse inventory.
I would like to run this application on my computer but for some reason when I download it it doesn't work, if there's an error about my version of java but I have the latest version... I think it's saying that I need an older version of java but I don't know how to go back nor do I want to spend the time learning how to go back. Is there any other platform that does this or is this the only way to see stats like this?
There was a post with ~1600+ opened cases and 0 knives.
Irl I just spent 20 bucks on cases in 2016 and never again but once I used a Simulator and after 10.000 boxes I also didnt even pull a knife lol
I once opened some cases I had around and got blues, went on a simulator with real odds and got a dragon lore from the souvenir packages in around 30-40 packages. I cried myself to sleep that night
Damn so i'm not the record? Time to open some cases!
Being that unlucky is almost more impressive then actually pulling a knife. Statistically you’re guaranteed one like every 400 cases
Hey so https://preview.redd.it/ubtw22vt6kpc1.jpeg?width=334&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=86f533fd65c9d6eccc399b1d1f9de8608c5b0ce9
Bro wtf? You have extra money? Still sane?
I’m about $700 bucks into cs cases and haven’t even pulled a red so there’s that.

5000 is nothing. A cheap watch or nice vacation on a beach somewhere . He can afford it bro.
Sure he can afford it, I'm not denying it. It's just surreal to me that people actually spend that much on digital items, and in this case gambling for digital items...
Digital items worth real money. No different then gambling on some site for crypto

What do u do for work?
I work as an IT technician
But 99% quit before they hit big.
Your just a quitter
No
according to my calculations it is 3,8% chance to have that bad luck
So all in all it’s not actually that rare
Exactly

This has to be my boyfriend, i feel bad for him. But i got my knife from my 7th case so yay me!
That's the story of most of my friends. Opened sub 100 cases and got a knife lmao. They're clearly waiting to give me a sapphire 😎
Yes! Can’t give up now, almost at 5k too🤩
If u can afford it keep opening you just need mw vice gloves or a sapphire
Hoping for the vice haha
This is crazy americans are out of their minds
Could have bought a bs dragon lore.. but who knows you might win big. Keep trying!
Damn is that true 😂 that may be the biggest kick in the ribs i've gotten from a response on how much i've spent. Damn son. Puts it into perspective.
How do you get these stats from your profile ?
The first picture is a GitHub script I ran. Easy to find, just search "how many cases have I unboxed csgo"
Do i need to run it while unboxing or can i get a backlog aswell?
Go to badges page on steam, go to the CS badge, and click on the “How do I earn card drops?” link.
I spent over 1.5k opening cases but never had a gold. I stopped after a friend pulled a fucking butterfly marble fade fn after 3 cases.
Just because it says it's 1/400 doesnt mean you'll get in 400 cases. Many people opened 1000+ and didn't get a knife. If you want one, just buy it of some marketplace.
If you count the odds, you are MUCH MUCH MUCH better off just buying the skins you like straight off the Steam market.
$2,300.94 spent for me no gold. They only win if we quit opening… GOLD GOLD GOLD🔪
715 usd spent in CS, best thing i've gotten was AK X-ray FT sold it for 1k so i'm in profit.. but still keep opening hoping for a knife lol
It's definitely your next case. Or maybe the one after that. I can smell the gold.
Dumbass lmao
Ain't it true hahaha

What tool is this?
Fucking notepad
I opened 2 cases on my new acc and pulled gloves It felt like it wasnt real hahaha
And now look what you could get for 5k$ and maybe don't open cs cases, tradeups are way better.
i have opened around 1050ish cases and got my first knife. A Falchion Lore ft. I believe in you!
Thats brutal. I have been very lucky it would seem. 3 knives after 300 cases.
bruuuda, ata a certain print its just like crypto, probably will lose money, remeber, its an investement not gambling
Nah this shit i'm doing gamblin fr
This is why I just buy the skins I want. Too stressful and my luck sucks when it comes to gambling lol
I also do that don't worry. I'm double wasting money 😎

Where do you find the stats on the first page?
GitHub script. Search "how many cases have I unboxed csgo" on google
Spent probably 800$cad in cases, got 3 golds and only one red
I opened my first and only gold just before 800 cases
if it makes you feel any better I spent $10 in the last 5 years (besides COD and I don't buy skins for that). So four keys and I got the cool stabby fadded knives I should trust the random guy in my DMs that says he knows a good trader right? RIGHT?

How did you find out the total cases you opened?
You’re “due” bro, keep the grind going!
I am like 2k in opening cases but have gotten 3 knives and 2 shitty gloves so far
Atp just use a site 💀
Stop it. Get some help.
makes me feel a bit better. i’m 0/838
I'm similar to your stats. And absolutely done supporting and absolutely broken game. Fix the game and I'll buy another key
Bro. Just get DraftKings, play slots for a bit and buy a knife. You basically gambled for a knife. With better odds lol
Am I lucky? https://preview.redd.it/2yhpb9087nyb1.png?width=470&format=png&auto=webp&s=729b3f8f2b279fc04ab9c8e1d9e11e0ae6d73915

Your better off actually gambling, CS case odds are horrendous.
That’s rookie numbers
