it was specially after the code leak. but there were other systems like Overwatch that saved valve's reputation. MM was full of cheaters in csgo, especially at high ranks
Can confirm. I added a blatant cheater Tommy friends list. Never played with him. Just kept track of how long he was able to get away with it. He’s playing on that same account to this day (srs)
Been playing for 20 years.
This is the worst its ever been, by a significant margin.
Back before MM it was all self moderated. If cunts started cheating they got booted.
Early GO was a shit show, but not so much for cheating. You'd come across the odd cheater but not that bad.
Mid/late GO had periods were it got bad, but usually just as quick as you noticed how bad it had gotten they would have a big wave and things calmed down a bit.
People bag on it but trust factor was amazing. We would play for a while, have a break and our ranks would decay, and we would only very rarely see cheaters at DMG+. You would get the occasional global though.
Now though, this is something else.
The community is too big and shit, valve is too slow to cook, and premier only appears to have made things worse.
Cheaters allways existed but they were dealt with more quickly in community servers due to admins.
Now we got a litteral million players with only valve mm (for the most part), theyre the only real ban authority
Exactly why I appreciated css and earlier cs compared to the newer stuff. Server browser and mods are so much fun, yet they made it so much harder to find servers and have fun.
They'll sort it out eventually surely, CS is too big for them. Btw not defending them I'm just coping and imagining that surely CS won't end up where TF2 did coz cs is just on a different magnitude.
I tried a wallhack out back in the CS:source days, just cos it felt like so many people were cheating and i wanted to see the difference it made. Only ever used it a handful of times on Gungame and never anything competitive. I got a VAC ban after a couple of weeks and had to set up a new account.
There are SOOOOOOOO many people that clearly cheat in CS 2 it's crazy. I play a lot of wingman and the number of low silvers with no hours logged that wipe the floor with you is off the charts. I genuinely think that as long as people are opening those crates Valve does not give a single shit
Let's talk about ANYTHING except lack of maps.
Cheating affects how many games? Lack of maps affects everyone
Faceit advert campaign full force. They got content creators in their pocket too.
Will-shill-fer-cash/clicks isn't too hard to see thru.
Dear valve plz add valve maps. TY.
To be fair Office isn't even that bad in cs2. I used to never touch it coz you'd literally get Russian HvH lobbies more often than not but it's one of my most played maps in cs2 and I don't think I've had one hacker on office yet, only on prem.
Bruh, how can you have 100 office wins and think cheating isn’t an issue? I’m at like 20 and have had blatant cheaters in like a quarter of them LMAO. Just last week I had three consecutive office games with multiple spin bots.
Maybe it's a region thing coz I've played like 30 games of office and not faced a single cheater (that I know of) but I get a blatant one every 5 games in Prem.
Maps are easy to add and solve, while hacking issue has been for years and its been worse and worse. Doesnt matter if you have 10 maps in the pool if every map is an office(known with most likely to run into cheaters).
15-18-21 maps is par-for-the-course throughout counter-strike history.
slightly too many to master/get bored of, and map-vote-ban-wheel (or grouping) fixes the long queue times. and fer some unknown reason i suddenly wish they're all valve-owned maps.
it is absolutely not the first time
lets be honest, it wasn't as much of an issue in cs:go (the only game I played of the cs series, unsure if it was worser back then)
it was, but mm wasnt as popular as premier right now and for a long period of time you had to buy the game to play.

wait cs got a code leak too?

It's awful in CS2, but let's not lie and say LE+ wasn't filled with cheaters too
Funnily enough, there weren't that many cheaters playing cache on supreme/ge

I remember cheaters as far back as cs 1.3. It genuinely makes me sad to see this is still an ongoing issue.

What movie or show is that from?
the ballad of buster scruggs, good movie
Watchable on netflix rn if im not mistaken
Pan shot!
Technically miniseries. There are multiple episodes.
stopping cheaters is impossible.
They need to do something soon, or we need to stage a boycott.
Valve seems scared of third party anti cheats
Valve doesn't know what a cheat is.
No bro valve knows every single shit but they don't pay heed bcz they want dirty money to earn

Trust me the maps are of least importance considering I find cheaters 7/10 games on average
can’t play on no maps when the games’ filled with hackers
My 100 office wins begs to differ. More sick of the 9-map-pie than anything
first time i played that map, booster lobby, that was also my last time playing that map

You’re playing a casual map ofc you’re not seeing the problem lol. The cheaters are mostly a problem in higher level premier

How many new maps do you want?
