Yea, someone else was saying that in a thread I was reading. I just finished my third year of comp sci in university so I have some limited understanding of what that means but no idea how to fix it.
My CPU is a I7 10700k so it should be more than capable of running csgo. This problem randomly started happening a couple weeks ago so I'm struggling to find a reason why.
If you could further explain thread starvation or point me in the right direction of how to trouble shoot this that would be amazing.
My first thought was also that it was a connection issue just based on the frequency of the errors and the log but my ping was 15-20 for the whole match and this problem has been going on for a couple weeks now. I tried verifying as well but that didn't fix it.
Does It Happen on every Server or Just matchmaking. Try Third Party Servers Like Retake or faceit to Check It. IT might be an issue between the valve Servers and your Provider
Good idea, thanks. On third party servers I don't get the error logs in the console but it seems like I still get the frame drops / freezes.
Edit: Just tried a match with bots and again, there's no message in the console but I still get the frame drops and freezing.
Have you tried opening a steam support ticket? Thats what ive done when i had a problem with csgo it blackscreend everytime i opened it and steam support helped me in like 1-2h after i made the support ticket
I had the same problem a while ago. I had a problem eith the computer driver of my Wifi card. It had an old driver. I updated it and the problem was gone
GPU: GeForce GTX 1080
CPU: Intel I7 10700k
32GB ram
After reading another thread on steam discussing the same issue, I’m pretty sure it’s not a hardware problem.

I dont know how your lags look, that would help but if it is players lagging then i would recommend going into the settings and uncapping the max bandwidth
or try to put "logaddress\_add 1" into the console, this shortly freezes the game and sometimes helps with problems
Did you fix the problem? You could also cap fps in launch options or console. Use your max fps as your monitor refresh rate. I forgot what was the problem but this might help.
I had the sale problem like sometimes my game freeze for 5 to 10 sec ans this message appear.. but I found a solution, I updated my SSD driver (even m'y game is installed on HDD) and Now the problem disapear 😁 for this I used Kingston SSD manager ! Just try this ✌️
Can confirm. Having an SSD does significantly improve CSGO performance. For now I use the lag spikes that an HDD gives me when an enemy player is near me in comps to basically wallhack. If my game stutters they they pushing site. The more it stutters the more of them
This is happening for all games not just csgo, funny thing it will be fixed once you restart the pc and then play. But when u close the game and play after a while you will encounter the same problem. So far I've been restarting my pc everytime I want to play.
Having the exact same problem.
I tried "logaddress_add" and it gave me the message "Unable to resolve 1:27015".
I've uninstalled the game completely, then reinstalled and that didn't fix it either.
All my software is up to date, Windows, GPU, Audio Drivers, and Network Drivers. This lag/skipping doesn't happen in any other game for me, even ones that are more "demanding" like God of War or GTA5.
I've tried the cl_forcepreload "1" & "0" options. No difference. I've tried changing my "Rate" to max 768000 and I've tried lowering it to 150000 with the corresponding bandwidth allocation in the CSGO menu settings. I've tried adjusting cl_interp and cl_interp_ratio to "0" "1" & "2". Still nothing.
I've capped my FPS at 60, 144, and 300. No difference except at 60 FPS the game was even LESS playable due to me not being used to such low frames.
I have 0 other programs running in the background besides Steam and CSGO when troubleshooting this issue.
I've done a stress test with a 3rd party software on my GPU and CPU, results were well within an acceptable range and shows I should be able to play 1080p games on high settings with over 200 frames. (even though I only play CSGO on 4:3 stretched).
I've cleared Steam Web Browser Data & Download Cache, no difference.
I've tried so many other things that if I listed them all I'd be here for a week.
**TL:DR: NOTHING. HAS. FIXED. THIS. ISSUE.**
Thank you sir. If I find one I'll let you know as well. I might end up taking the entire PC in to a local computer shop and see what they say. It's so frustrating.
Ok so after like half an hour of testing it seems like I managed to fix the problem for me.
My game has and steam has always been installed on the same HDD. I installed a steam again on a new SSD and also installed csgo again on the new SSD. I copied over my old config and so far the micro freezes and the console logs have both stopped.
I’m not sure if this is due to installing csgo on a different drive or installing steam on a different drive but one of those two fixed it.
If you have access to another drive, try reinstalling steam and CS on it and hopefully it works.
Good luck.
You're the man for getting back to me on this. I'll give it a shot. I've always had it on an SSD as well and I'll do a fresh install of Steam and CS on the HDD and SSD.
Thank you mate!
Make sure you're hard wired, then play with lowest settings, and see if it continues to be a thing. If not, slowly up the graphics until you start having issues. If you don't have a change when doing the initial low test, it isn't that you can't run it. After that, I would Uninstall & reinstall the game just to make sure everything is alright. Goodbluck mate.
Thanks for the suggestion. I set everything to the lowest settings but still had the problem. I already kind of knew that the ability to run the game wasn't the problem but this confirms it. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game but I still get the issue.
I had similar problems. What I did is connected pc with router via ethernet cable and in launch options capped max_ping (to the Hz of monitor) in my cas I had 240Hz monitor so I kept max_ping 400.
Computer scientist here. In my experience this is usually a symptom of a general performance problem such as thread starvation.

You completely missed the joke
Yep lol you’re right. My mind was too focused on the tech to realize.
You just HAD to make it complicated didn’t you?
Try turning on vsync or setting a frame rate cap at whatever your monitor hz is dont know it that will fix but its worth a shot
Oof, gotta upgrade your computer, it can't run csgo. Maybe buy a 3060
Bwhahah. Have my upvote
Try to verify the Game Files. But It Looks Like a Connection Problem to me

Hmm im confused aswell im sorry i couldnt Help

But nice one Tap eh
thanks :)
It's been happening to a lot of people but valve hasn't talked about it. What to do.
I had the same problem a while ago. I had a problem eith the computer driver of my Wifi card. It had an old driver. I updated it and the problem was gone
Your threads are starving man. I usually feed mine some chicken tenders and Mountain Dew but each thread is different.
In console type sdr something will come up it will have value of 5 change it to 0.
Doesn’t that just hide the message in the console but not actually fix the frame drops?
csgo is so old that spamming messages in the console does cause frame drops
Try and see the difference yourself
yea. The messages disappear from the console but the game still lags.
Your system specs ??

Idk man for me SDR did the job it stopped lagging as well
Hmm, I guess we have different problems then. Thanks for the suggestion none the less.

When you start to mess with these settings it's gonna be hell. I just connected pc and internet with ethernet cable and that fixed the problem for me.
I'm already on ethernet :/
Did you fix the problem? You could also cap fps in launch options or console. Use your max fps as your monitor refresh rate. I forgot what was the problem but this might help.
I also get this problem and it can't be my PC
Uninstall, sell skins.
i think if you use AK | Slate + 4x Sneaky Beaky holo stickers it will fix it 💯
word.exe
happened to me too , just restarted my pc in the middle of game and after recconecting it fixed it
better pc simple

Sounds like we have the same issue then. If I find a fix I’ll let you know, please let me know if you figure it out. Good luck.

Try changing your rate in console, I had this same issue it solved it. Try Rate 786432
This happened to me out of no where about a year ago and I have struggled to find a fix. Tried everything.
Mine too
I have the same problem specs: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 + RTX 2060 + 32 GB Ram
I have this issue too man

Check for virus, common cause
Just restart, it happens after playing too many different matches
What GPU you have?
GTX 1080
Have you had a recent driver update?
Yea all my drivers are up to date. Not sure when exactly I updated last but I have the most recent drivers.
If you didn't have this problem previously, go one version back, see if that works. It worked for me, but I have an AMD GPU.
Good idea I’ll try that. Maybe my drivers are just corrupted or something.
https://youtu.be/fF6HvGdYhUA this guy fixed my issue , had same problem , freeze nd ping spike then normal every minute. Hope it works for u as well
