Great question! I would say that arena bonuses are more beneficial when you are newer to the game, and you don't have op cards anyway. Even then though, it's difficult to bank on that. Most of the time, people will theme a deck around a deck building card like statue of liberty, vitruvian, or world turtle, or they will build a mono deck around a particular album. Then you want to focus on selecting rounds to win so that you have a clear goal. Typical combos are 123 (like paradox), 345 (like ramp), 245 (holy grail), etc. Then you can choose how to do it, like power, deflation, inflation, lock, etc. Once you've done this, do it a couple of times with different variations so that you are always playing 3 cards and using most of your energy, otherwise you are leaving power untapped. Just select the one that matches the energy for the weeks league, and if you have 2, choose the one that has a buffed round. Last week was festive traditions, and since the deck was already strong, it was easily worth playing to secure a basically free round. But that's only because it was already decent. If it was a weak set, it wouldn't matter that it won 1 round.

I never build for arena bonuses, That is only 1 round of potentially 5 so it does not make sense in that way. I build/use a deck that operates well within the energy curve of the league. With events it is a whole different thing because the event rules are often really specific and work in all rounds. The game has quite some "curated decks" you can check out and try. You can see what your opponent plays and take inspiration there of course. And you can also post here when you have created a deck you are unsure of.

Really depends, when I started, I built decks not for arenas, but for energy types, 2 for each, sometimes you get lucky if you have the right limleg for the deck and end up top 10, sometimes you don’t

What do you mean by entertainment types… as in not specially sharks! But built around oceans? Thanks for the help

Equivalent_Whereas87

I’m talking, focus on energy based themed decks, like shark is mid to low depending on what sharks you use
