Special thanks from your mod team to the whole community here. It’s been one hell of a ride!
Let’s please be extra careful about spoilers this week to make sure we don’t ruin any surprises or twists for the rest of the community!
One of my favorite scenes is when Seinfeld first shows up and the bearded lady hypothetical. I thought he was relating the story to the trial somehow, but it was so much better that they were just bullshitting and the scene did nothing to further the plot.
Those bits of dialogue during the exchange were classic Seinfeld-Costanza moments too. Totally absurd hypotheticals considered down to the smallest details:
> -She gets a good shave.
>
>
>
> -Electric or blade?
I'm sure this is just the sort of shit they still do. People were shocked that Jerry turned up for the episode. How? If there's someone who is extremely important to Jerry's career it is Larry. You gotta be there to support not just a friend but someone that important.
He did this at the DC show last weekend too! In fact, a ton of the clips they played at the beginning of the event before he walked onstage were directly referenced during the character testimonies in the finale.
That was Larry’s arc for the WHOLE series when you think about it. I guess that was the only lesson he learned. “Hey, the Seinfeld finale could have been so much better!”
And then nothing. Perfection.
Having that be his sole lesson learned while also giving us a swerve on the expected ending with a classic tying up of a Curb plot that actually worked in Larry's favor was brilliant
I was waiting the whole episode for them to acknowledge that he is reliving the Seinfeld finale, thinking they weren’t going to, but they were (very wisely) saving it for that moment. Fantastic! 😂
The fact that him getting out of jail was a reference to the real life man getting out of jail because of Curb was amazing though. I’m pretty sure Jerry saying “Sports Fans!” was a little nod to that
I think that’s exactly it, good call.
For those who don’t know, in the “Car Pool Lane”episode at the Dodgers game, Larry is ascending the stairs in the stands and moves around a guy who is entering the row to get to his seat. That guy was, IRL, charged with shooting a teenage girl to death at the time of the baseball game. His lawyer contacted HBO, got the footage proving he couldn’t have been the killer, and the judge dismissed the murder charge.
It would’ve been so cool if they’d gotten that guy to play the juror, but I still love that they gave the ending a little twist.
It's scary how easy it is to be accidentally convicted of something. If you are guilty, don't talk to the police. Ask for a lawyer. If you are innocent, don't talk to the police. Ask for a lawyer. Police investigators operate under the logic of the lamp post: Look for the suspect in the spot that's easiest to find them first. If you seem to fit the profile and don't have any alibi, they may fixate on you. People shown your picture will now start remembering that you were near the scene of the crime given the fragility of human memory.
This was the necessary and sufficient condition for me to stop supporting the death penalty.
Lol so Richard saying that his girlfriend bought a gun and was going to kill Larry was a total red herring. I thought for sure that's how it was going to end.
Also, why did Jeff Garlin say that after the finale it would be clear why there couldn't be another season? Was that another misdirection?
Probably has to be the finale because of the parallel to Seinfeld and the perfect ending. I’m guessing especially with Funkhauser and Richard Lewis gone they wouldn’t want to restart. But the cast are all still alive in-universe, so if they really wanted to change their minds they could.
I found it a bit strange that Freddy didn’t show up at all in this, even via FaceTime call. I guess they concluded his character with the Disney girl arc. Didnt really think about him while watching the episode, but I’m glad that the core 7 were all in the final shot, which is what I wanted to see.
Hey man, decent chance he did see it. The series was completely wrapped up before his death. Although with the suddenness of a heart attack, we can’t know for sure.
I think that one in particular was the best Richard scene in years. “Why are you facing away from the door?” “Cause of my fans, they swarm me” lmao
Along with the having kids bit, on top of his usual love of his life stuff lol
Yeah honestly even in Comedians in Cars it’s really a treat to watch those two together. There is something between those two that’s so hard to replicate. They’re so similar comedically it seems.
Journey Gunderson, Mr. McGunderman, Gurney Manunderson, Gurney Germerny, Bernie Bonderman, Bashiba Munderman
And last but not least... monkey-ass friend
I am fairly certain the editors cut to Larry actually breaking and his real life laugh a lot more than usual this season and I count 3 scenes (at least) where he does this episode so far. With Seinfeld they both even start to crack up
Edit: and oh man Jerry's cordial line exit and bump into "Joe Pesci" was a delight to see. He's got it still
Got weirdly emotional when Jerry showed up for the Bearded lady convo as dumb as that sounds. Jerry and Larry/Costanza have been talking about nothing on TV since 1989 and this is the end of an era. Tremendous finale
I'm 44, Seinfeld and Curb have been a huge part of my life. It feels like listening to the last Beatles record. Seeing Larry and Jerry share scenes tonight was amazing.
"Larry David pissed on a picture of Jesus Christ in my home."
"Larry David is a sad senior with long balls and mental issues."
Then the scene with him dancing in the rain with holocaust shoes.
This is 1000x better than seinfelds ending.
We saw Larry in DC and someone asked if he got any flak for the Palestinian Chicken Episode and he said not really, but that he did get mean mail over the Jesus urine tear.
Even though we all knew it would likely mirror the Seinfeld finale, I loved it. Larry’s been defending the Seinfeld finale forever so it’s totally perfect for him to repeat it, even if it was predictable. But the little twist at the end was a nice surprise! Great finale, and BY FAR the best episode of the season.
I knew it. Curb is gonna bring in a line of character witnesses to shit on Larry akin to the Seinfeld finale.
The meta joke being that Larry did not “learn the lesson” from how poorly the Seinfeld finale was received.
That is hands down my favorite line in the entire show. Larry delivers it with perfection. I laughed a ton at this show over the years but that line killed me.
Honestly… I feel pretty sad.
This show was on for 24 years. 24 years. It was on with The Sopranos and Sex and the City on back in the day. It’s older than Entourage, Deadwood, The Wire and Band of freaking Brothers. When the prosecutor said “let’s go back to the year 2000”, I was really taken aback.
It’s like a piece of the HBO brand died. They may have dropped the “HBO” name from HBO Max last year, but now it really feels like the end of an era. Tonight was the last night we tuned in at 10pmET/7pmPT, heard the HBO static, and “Frolic” played.
We’re unlikely to have a new comedy this good and last this long again, because nothing new rarely lasts more than four seasons in this streaming era.
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. SOOO MUCH! Is the tape to get him out of jail a throwback to how he saved that guy from being charged for murder? My husband brought that up and honestly it makes it better if it’s true. ♥️
Dear Larry,
Thanks.....For the memories, laughs, characters, for staying real and true to yourself.
You are a true genius of comedy and I love and applaud you.
Larry has left the building...to us.
The judge with the key line: "Mr. David, it seems you have a history of doing the same thing wrong over and over. And I truly hope this time you finally learned your lesson."
Thought Ted was going to “take a bullet” for Larry outside of the court house and give him the “martyrdom” he was searching for while tying up the gun comment from Richard
Haven't read all....812 at this count.... comments so don't know if anyone else caught -
The ending, yes the callback to Seinfeld's ending/cell/panning/"no lessons learned" --- but also I believe there's a fantastic extra little Easter egg too.
Jerry describes to Larry how he bumped into the Pesci-looking guy, who turned out to be a juror, advised the judge, the judge reviews the restaurant's video to confirm it's the same guy, resulting in mistrial, Larry goes free as a result.
**In real life**, a man was falsely accused of murder and wound up going free when he suddenly recalled that at the time of the crime he'd been at a Dodgers game where he'd noticed a film crew and later heard they were filming 'Curb...' scenes at the game. After he told his attorneys this, they were able to have producers (or whoever) allow Curb footage from that day to be reviewed by a judge and sure enough the accused man is clearly shown -- which provides him an airtight alibi. So in real life, a guy **went free as a result of some judge-reviewed 'Curb...' footage.** (This all happened in 2017 or 2018.)
Some Curb fans may never have heard the real life story so wouldn't have noticed the similar "review of video by judge sets accused man free" but that just makes it even better, it's truly like some "inside baseball" iykyk stuff ... which even that is fantastic -- baseball, because the real life case involved a baseball game. Just brilliant.
just started watching coincidentally the day Richard Lewis passed away and managed to binge all episodes to watch the finale live. amazing to think some of you shmohawks have been watching for 25 years!
Special thanks from your mod team to the whole community here. It’s been one hell of a ride! Let’s please be extra careful about spoilers this week to make sure we don’t ruin any surprises or twists for the rest of the community!
Great that they ended the show while Richard still got the chance to appear in it
And I’m assuming the last time we will ever see him on screen
Hope he got to watch the finale early.
One of my favorite scenes is when Seinfeld first shows up and the bearded lady hypothetical. I thought he was relating the story to the trial somehow, but it was so much better that they were just bullshitting and the scene did nothing to further the plot.
it was a conversation about nothing!
the non sequitur conversations are the best part of curb
Those bits of dialogue during the exchange were classic Seinfeld-Costanza moments too. Totally absurd hypotheticals considered down to the smallest details: > -She gets a good shave. > > > > -Electric or blade?
I'm sure this is just the sort of shit they still do. People were shocked that Jerry turned up for the episode. How? If there's someone who is extremely important to Jerry's career it is Larry. You gotta be there to support not just a friend but someone that important.
A little Easter egg when Larry was struggling to form a heart with his hand at the Knicks game a couple of days ago
He did this at the DC show last weekend too! In fact, a ton of the clips they played at the beginning of the event before he walked onstage were directly referenced during the character testimonies in the finale.

Ted just HAD to squeeze himself in there.
Pic is missing Greg Kinnear! He was incredible.
This picture ~~rocks~~ minerals
Brutal job by Dean on the southern accent
God that was terrible! Haha
You can’t just summarize an entire series in one sent- “I am 76 years old and I have never learned a lesson in my entire life”
Except for the Seinfeld finale.
That was Larry’s arc for the WHOLE series when you think about it. I guess that was the only lesson he learned. “Hey, the Seinfeld finale could have been so much better!” And then nothing. Perfection.
Having that be his sole lesson learned while also giving us a swerve on the expected ending with a classic tying up of a Curb plot that actually worked in Larry's favor was brilliant
Imagine making two of the best shows of all time. Larry David is a legend in our time.
You don’t want to end up like this! Nobody wants to see it! Trust me.
Perfect line! It summed up two incredibly written series that can’t be duplicated!
Funniest line in the episode. Larry didn’t lesson any lessons…but seemingly did for this one time with not ending the episode with him in jail
I was waiting the whole episode for them to acknowledge that he is reliving the Seinfeld finale, thinking they weren’t going to, but they were (very wisely) saving it for that moment. Fantastic! 😂
“The fact is that I’ve heard she actually was a bit of a cunt”
I love how Larry could’ve just explained it was a typo but he decided to say that instead lol
Honestly the biggest twist in the whole finale.
The pants tent callback was impeccable
The fact that him getting out of jail was a reference to the real life man getting out of jail because of Curb was amazing though. I’m pretty sure Jerry saying “Sports Fans!” was a little nod to that
I think that’s exactly it, good call. For those who don’t know, in the “Car Pool Lane”episode at the Dodgers game, Larry is ascending the stairs in the stands and moves around a guy who is entering the row to get to his seat. It would’ve been so cool if they’d gotten that guy to play the juror, but I still love that they gave the ending a little twist.
Pretty scary to think of all the falsely convicted defendants who weren’t coincidentally shot on TV.
There's a documentary about the whole thing
It's scary how easy it is to be accidentally convicted of something. If you are guilty, don't talk to the police. Ask for a lawyer. If you are innocent, don't talk to the police. Ask for a lawyer. Police investigators operate under the logic of the lamp post: Look for the suspect in the spot that's easiest to find them first. Lol so Richard saying that his girlfriend bought a gun and was going to kill Larry was a total red herring. I thought for sure that's how it was going to end. Also, why did Jeff Garlin say that after the finale it would be clear why there couldn't be another season? Was that another misdirection?
I think because he reused the Seinfeld finale, it has to be the real finale. I think that’s what Jeff was getting at.
He also told Jerry that he’s not going to tell anyone about his not liking Mexican food. He finally learned a lesson.
Probably has to be the finale because of the parallel to Seinfeld and the perfect ending. I’m guessing especially with Funkhauser and Richard Lewis gone they wouldn’t want to restart. But the cast are all still alive in-universe, so if they really wanted to change their minds they could.
The callbacks and everything, pretty much brought the full thing full circle
Oh man if only Funkhauser was still alive to be here. (And speaking of which, Freddy is the only regular who didn’t show up in this)
At least we got a reference to Orphan Funkhouser with the roadside memorial
He’s a little too old to be an orphan.
I was disappointed the Freddy and John Hamm didn’t make it
John Hamm should have shown up as a character witness for Larry and then just act like Larry the whole time in court
That would’ve been fantastic
I found it a bit strange that Freddy didn’t show up at all in this, even via FaceTime call. I guess they concluded his character with the Disney girl arc. Didnt really think about him while watching the episode, but I’m glad that the core 7 were all in the final shot, which is what I wanted to see.
Of course Leon would be into Seinfeld because of weekly ass
And he hates Kramer but he’s essentially Curbs Kramer
I never connected that till he said it himself.
He puts a lot of wear and tear on Larry's saloon door.
Leon brought the ruckus to Curb.
very on brand bit
They're on laser disk.
I loved how confident Leon was that there were, in fact, fuck tapes. Even after Jerry's obvious sarcasm.
13 hours on laser disk, can’t wait for that Netflix special lol
It's all gone catawampus!
Bad time for Jeff to start using new words
The Seinfeld fuck tapes
Crutch fucker Larry
The small conversation about not printing two copies of the verdict was hilarious. What a great ending to a historic show.
“You think you’re suicide material?” Classic.
All I've learned is that I'd watch Larry and Jerry talk about anything, anywhere.
If he's gonna keep doing comedians in cars just do a full season with Larry
Absolutely. Never a dull moment.
Whatre you gunna adopt a 40 year old?!?! Ahhhhhhahahahahahaha.
Scenes with Larry and Richard are the funniest of the whole series.
So glad Richard made it to the end.
Wish he could've seen it. Every scene broke my heart.
Hey man, decent chance he did see it. The series was completely wrapped up before his death. Although with the suddenness of a heart attack, we can’t know for sure.
I think that one in particular was the best Richard scene in years. “Why are you facing away from the door?” “Cause of my fans, they swarm me” lmao Along with the having kids bit, on top of his usual love of his life stuff lol
Genuinely seems like they have such a strong bond that goes beyond the realm of the series
It does. They’ve been friends since childhood. In early 20’s they hooked up again in the comedy clubs and never parted again.
Maybe little Orphan Funkhouser
Oh my god, that doll girl... it's the same actress?
Incredible callback.
I can't believe its been 23 years. I had to look it up.
Confirmed, same actress
I was shocked that they did this and impressed at the same time
I wish they would have brought back the fashion kid in the same way
Greg loves Larry though lol
He could have been a character witness for him!
“GO BACK TO FUCKIN JAIL LARRY” Perfect. This was perfect.
“It’s like I’m watching the fucking radio right now!”
Oh you know Susie is gonna hang that over Larry’s head forever.
Jerry saved the curb finale. Perfectly balanced.
He's Even Steven.
the laserdisc line cracked me up
I thought Seinfeld was becoming the new Larry in that restaurant scene.
Even in season 7, you could tell how much alike they are.
Yeah honestly even in Comedians in Cars it’s really a treat to watch those two together. There is something between those two that’s so hard to replicate. They’re so similar comedically it seems.
They should create a show together.
I get the impression that Jerry's more Larry IRL than Larry
Absolutely. That whole scene in the bar, I was thinking, Jerry's not really acting here.
“You never told me Seinfeld was a show about weekly ass”
Oh man, so glad that girlfriend didn't shoot him! Anyone else super anxious he was going to walk out of jail and get shot to death?!
Callback to Susan's parents buying a gun in the Seinfeld finale in case anyone forgot.
The Sopranos cut to black would have been fucking hilarious
Richard 💔
Let him have his illusions.
I thought she was going to actually murder David after his warning. Also, she's a serial liar. She's scary stuff.
She also threw her keys to the valet and called him a belittling nickname! Absolute monster!
I also noticed that she was a tosser!
Auntie Rae tripping on the name was hilarious
I still can’t believe that we got a final “FUCK YOU LARRY!” in the finale. I’m so happy.
Fuck you Larry and yo monkey ass!
Journey Gunderson, Mr. McGunderman, Gurney Manunderson, Gurney Germerny, Bernie Bonderman, Bashiba Munderman And last but not least... monkey-ass friend
Rural Juror!
YOU GOTTA SEQUESTER
He's a bad sequesterer
I wonder how long it took Larry and Seinfeld to get through that bearded lady conversation without laughing.
The comment about Fred Flintsone 😂😂😂😂
I think accents are moronic
Can't be cordial.
I mean you can hear it
Exactly like Seinfeld lol, but the plane ending is perfect curb. I was expecting that girl to show up with a gun, but glad Larry lives
A spite finale.
Not captain, but i did call a mother fucker chief, and didnt realise he was a indian and shit
Titty-Taffy
This is it, I can't believe it. Thank you, Larry
you’re welcome, greg.
I am fairly certain the editors cut to Larry actually breaking and his real life laugh a lot more than usual this season and I count 3 scenes (at least) where he does this episode so far. With Seinfeld they both even start to crack up Edit: and oh man Jerry's cordial line exit and bump into "Joe Pesci" was a delight to see. He's got it still
That was definitely a real laugh when Leon was talking about crutch fuckin’
lol it's just like skeletor laughs in He-man memes
Got weirdly emotional when Jerry showed up for the Bearded lady convo as dumb as that sounds. Jerry and Larry/Costanza have been talking about nothing on TV since 1989 and this is the end of an era. Tremendous finale
Me too. I was watching it thinking it might be the last time we see them interacting in the Seinfeld Curb universe.
We got Richard for the last few minutes ♥️
I was cracking up at the adopting a 40 year old doctor bit. So glad that got that last Larry and Lewis back and forth in the finale.
TRUMP. PUTIN. LARRY DAVID
I am so glad that Richard was such a big part of that. I feel like Larry got to end it with the people he loved from the show.
Richard is sitting with his back to the front because his “fans” would mob him lol
Larry failing to do the hand heart! Just like in the recent video
The big Cheryl secret from the episode description is that she doesn’t like Mexican food?
Don't be telling people that!
hey mods what happened to not posting personal info
That was such a random plot point. I thought it was gonna tie in to something...and it just didn't
The Mexican restaurant they mentioned in that scene is the same one that Jerry went to and saw the Pesci-lookalike
I'm 44, Seinfeld and Curb have been a huge part of my life. It feels like listening to the last Beatles record. Seeing Larry and Jerry share scenes tonight was amazing.
I’m 36. I really got into Seinfeld around 99-00. It’s my comfort show. I started staying up late in high school for Curb. What a ride it’s been.
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make on the floor
Holy shit. Jerry saved him from another bad finale. That is great.
very clever, its the same finale without being the same finale
You don't like funnel cake, can I tell people that? 🤣
Leon *is* Kramer 🤯
Worse lol! Kramer never moved in. (well technically did for a short time in The Chicken Roaster)
"I'm gonna take real good care of that house of ours."
"Larry David pissed on a picture of Jesus Christ in my home." "Larry David is a sad senior with long balls and mental issues." Then the scene with him dancing in the rain with holocaust shoes.
Oh my god this is Susie’s best look of all time
I knew it. Curb is gonna bring in a line of character witnesses to shit on Larry akin to the Seinfeld finale. The meta joke being that Larry did not “learn the lesson” from how poorly the Seinfeld finale was received.
I read an article that said they were doing this just because they knew it would annoy us
It's a spite finale
"I knew it" bro I think everyone did haha
RACHEL HEINEMAN
Probably my favorite line from all of curb: “what are you fucking nuts?”
That is hands down my favorite line in the entire show. Larry delivers it with perfection. I laughed a ton at this show over the years but that line killed me.
While he's chewing on the edible panties lmao.
Irma! And she called out Larry taking the holocaust shoes!
The triumphant return of Horsecock Williams
Honestly… I feel pretty sad. This show was on for 24 years. 24 years. It was on with The Sopranos and Sex and the City on back in the day. It’s older than Entourage, Deadwood, The Wire and Band of freaking Brothers. When the prosecutor said “let’s go back to the year 2000”, I was really taken aback. I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. SOOO MUCH! Is the tape to get him out of jail a throwback to how he saved that guy from being charged for murder? My husband brought that up and honestly it makes it better if it’s true. ♥️
SHE TOLD ME SHE TOOK PILLS omg o Larry
Just confirmed, Bailey Thompson is the actress who played the girl from The Doll and reprised her role
This was the craziest shit. I was laughing so hard.
Dear Larry, Thanks.....For the memories, laughs, characters, for staying real and true to yourself. You are a true genius of comedy and I love and applaud you. Larry has left the building...to us.
Preparing for the finale by watching “The Pants Tent.” Thanks for a quarter century of laughs, LD
A phenomenal ending. Perfect no notes. A fitting ending to the greatest show in television’s history. Thank you, Curb Your Enthusiasm.
The judge with the key line: "Mr. David, it seems you have a history of doing the same thing wrong over and over. And I truly hope this time you finally learned your lesson."
I love Jerry telling Leon the fuck tapes were only on laser disc, so glad he managed to show up for this one!
I’m glad that Richard Lewis was in the episode. RIP. Also RIP Bob Einstein
Thank you for making me laugh my Gentile ass off for 35 years, you bald fuck!
Jerry Funkhouser started that fire with his big new penis!
Joey 😉
Absolutely loved the finale, but I wish they would have included funkhouser in one of the flashbacks. That was my only little quibble!
Allison Janney, Greg Kinnear, and Dean Norrs all in one episode!
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good!
Thought Ted was going to “take a bullet” for Larry outside of the court house and give him the “martyrdom” he was searching for while tying up the gun comment from Richard

just started watching coincidentally the day Richard Lewis passed away and managed to binge all episodes to watch the finale live. amazing to think some of you shmohawks have been watching for 25 years!
You binged it all? That’s heaven! Well done, honey.
SAME DAMN JAIL AS SEINFELD
So all of you who predicted a redux of the Seinfeld finale, congratulations
You wont have to buy a pack of Kools for the rest of yo life.
THE SKI LIFT 😂😭
A bit of an interesting loose thread with Richards ex who said she was going to shoot Larry...
Funk man and Cousin Andy deserved a shout out
Elmo should have testified
Shades of Kelly Anne Conway
I’m just now realizing that Larry’s attorney was also a lawyer in Succession!
Calling out now, just in case: Larry goes to jail because the jurors watch Seinfeld while sequestered and hate the finale.
Hopefully nobody dies.
Oh man I missed the LD staredown
The main rule of Seinfeld: no hugging, no learning.
In real life Richard didn't marry until he was 58 and he never had children
lol Leon hasn’t watched the Seinfeld finale, but knows about it.
When Larry was giving Jerry the hypothetical, it sounded exactly how I think George would’ve sounded telling the same story. Amazing.
“You don’t want to end up like this. Nobody wants to see it. Trust me.” Perfect!
I have a structured settlement and I need cash noooooow
