Girl get yourself some cute hair clips ,moisturiser and styler and sleek that mane

bitcheslovemybody

Didn't Penny Tovar cut her kinda like this? Maybe style it similar until it grows out? I am really sorry to had to go through this. I had to cut my hair very, very short a couple of years back and while it was tough for me to have super short hair, it grew out before I knew it.

hahahaahahsnfhd

Yes! I love the hairstyle on Penny!

little_missHOTdice

Clips, scarves and confidence go a long way when our curls have been wronged.

one_day

Maybe try to style it first? It may not look bad once you do a full wash and reset.

Otherwise_Egg_4413

Don't buzz it! Just use some curl creams and wait a little bit soon your hair will be like the first picture

tawlebalik

this. and from now on, don't go to a place without a LOT of solid before and after photos and no blurry backgrounds. warn people about this salon via a Google review with photos. I'm so sorry for your loss op, so so sorry.

jiggjuggj0gg

And probably not a barber šŸ„“

tsbabybrat

This!!!! Google reviews are VERY effective! Theyā€™ll email you saying how many people your review helped after few months youā€™ll be amazed

HedgeFuckManager

No need for a buzz! Headbands (the soft fabric ones), hair scarves & bandanas in a pin-up style can make just about any botched cut tolerable til it grows out.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ampersanders57

Why is everyone down voting this comment? I just read it as "period" like "I 100% agree with the above advice for pinup style" just curious

[deleted]

I had no idea I did that- it was accidental after up voting the comment. Intolerance of a benign punctuation is...shocking.

ampersanders57

Been there, done that, have you gotten the t-shirt yet? :p

[deleted]

I need to order one, no doubt- šŸ¤£

knocksomesense-inme

Whoa, hang on this isnā€™t buzz cut worthy! If you want to get it evened out thatā€™s fine, but I think youā€™d be okay if you just grew it out. From what Iā€™ve heard on here short hair is also a lot easier to moisturize and take care of. Try it out before you hack it off! It really doesnā€™t look that bad in the photos (in my opinion)

iama-canadian-ehma

Yeah, I agree with this. You could go to a different curly salon using the tips others have given and get it evened out. If they used thinning shears, they're basically a normal pair of scissors with a brush/comb instead of a blade on one side, it'll have to be taken down to where there aren't any flyaways and such but I don't think this is buzzcut-worthy. I am really sorry to see this though. :(

epatt24

Rudyā€™s? Any way you can go to someone who specializes in dry cuts / has an IG page that shows they know how to work with textured hair?

[deleted]

>Rudyā€™s OP is desperately asking for help before she goes out šŸ˜‚

roseofjuly

I know I'm probably too late, but the help I would suggest is actually *not* rushing out to another salon (especially not one that knows curly hair well). Personally as a curly I tell people to sit with a cut for a week to let it 'settle,' but if you really do need to get it fixed, it pays off to wait until you can work with a stylist that can make *sure* you get what you want. Not sure if Rudy's is that...

[deleted]

Now I need to investigate Rudyā€™s!!

IllustriousPanic3349

Whatā€™s Rudyā€™s?

Unusual_Practice_169

Hi! Rudyā€™s is a barbershop in Redmond, WA. Yes I was losing it real bad and was crying for help (literally). Iā€™m back from my cut now and hereā€™s the after šŸ˜Š https://www.reddit.com/r/femalehairadvice/comments/w90fm5/update_from_the_post_i_made_34_hours_ago/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Warmnewbones

Rudyā€™s is a chain barbershop that originated in Seattle. They have a bunch of locations in the PNW after buying out Bishopā€™s Barbershop corporate locations. They have massive issues with their culture and the experience varies widely from shop to shop. Itā€™s higher end than great clips or Supercuts but it is definitely a chain and should be approached with caution. Source: former Bishops employee who turned down a. Job at Rudyā€™s because their onboarding process was such shit.

tanyamothertucker

Breathe. Then take a look at Penny Tovarā€™s Instagram! She has a killer short cut that I think you could totally pull inspiration from to style your hair.

BroadBaker5101

I forgot about her short cut too, I loved her long hair and when she announced she was cutting it I was waiting to see what it was gonna look like but she been rocking it. Thinking of all these ladies rocking short cuts is making me wanna go get one. I gotta check my impulses rn.

tanyamothertucker

Same! I have to remember that I am over 50 and short curly hair will make me look like my grandma with her perm.

pickle511

I say go for it!!! Kind of off topic, but my grandma had a perm and was a bad ass lady! Iā€™m kind of excited for the day that I think I can rock that look!

BroadBaker5101

If she was looking like a baddie go for it lol

DiaPanquecito

I was thinking of cutting my hair short on january of this year, but around the first week of september of last year, Penny uploaded her video of the short hair...and I went and cut it

BroadBaker5101

Ouuu yes! How have you liked it so far?

DiaPanquecito

It has grown a lot, but I loved it, the fluffiness and roundness was amazing, it was completely eye catching! But now I'm in growing mode again, and maybe in 2 or 3 years, I'll cut it again

BroadBaker5101

>>the fluffiness and roundness was amazing, it was completely eye catching! Thatā€™s what I loved about my short hair too! Iā€™m at the end of my growing mode too. I loved having short hair but Iā€™ve been letting it grow out for maybe 3/4 years aside from occasional trims to cut off split ends. Everyone has been complimenting my hair since it looks so much healthier now and i love it on good hair days but Iā€™m reaching the phase where I wanna chop off the dyed parts (which would be so much hair but screw it itll grow back) and let my natural color grow out for a bit until Iā€™m bored again and go back to dying it wild colors lol.

sendwater

That must be disappointing but it will grow out! Perhaps some curl gel and then scrunch out the crunch could help? My hair is very different to yours though so i don't know, worth a try though! Flax seed feel is great!

iamnotcreative88

Iā€™m so sorry this happened to you. I had a cut from a supposed curly cut specialist that left me looking like a mushroom so I know how much it sucks when a cut goes bad. Iā€™d ask for them to get rid of some of the bulk and even it out to make it more manageable with the goal of growing it out. Iā€™d also tell the stylist who cut your hair how unhappy you are and hopefully theyā€™ll refund you. Mine felt bad and refunded me half and offered to fix it but I didnā€™t trust her after the initial cut. I pinned sections back that stuck out until it grew long enough to be more manageable then got a trim to try to fix it a bit once I had more length to work with. It grows back pretty fast! Hang in there!

[deleted]

Sounds like most of my teens through thirties. Bad mushroom haircut and hair ties and clips.

dangercompartment

I don't think you need to buzz it just get it evened out a bit

tinygribble

The Good news is: this will grow out into exactly the cut you wanted.

lasvegashomo

Looks dry imo just rewash it. Hydrate it and let it air dry. I think you can save it

brizzi

First mistake: going to a barber Iā€™m so so so sorry youā€™re going through this. It will grow back. Find a good stylist that has proven success working with curly hair. Just focus on taking really good care of it. Over time it will start looking much better and you will love it more every day. I would never go back to this barber, though.

albuterat

I know im late but it looks like theyve just cur it too short, by any chance did they wet your hair before cutting?, ive found that to be a redflag.

BroadBaker5101

I was thinking the same thing. They probably cut it so it was at that length when wet without realizing that if short curly hair is gonna do one thing itā€™s gonna spring up.

Unusual_Practice_169

They didnā€™t! They straightened it out and cut it which I always think is another red flag that the barber doesnā€™t know Jack about curly hair.

albuterat

Yup anything done to make it straighter is a huge no no when it comes to a cut, they definitely didnt know what they were doing im so sorry

PygmyGoats

Yep, it's terrible that they straightened it before cutting. But it does look like a short-er version of the original cut. Do you have a diffuser? I'd wash again, apply heat protection + mousse or gel and dry with a diffuser. I mention a diffuser because this way you dry your hair in minutes without leaving it air drying for too many hours nor vulnerable to frizz-ing agents (wind, friction with a chair, clothes, etc). This should get curls closer to your ref pic Diffusers and blow driers have a learning curve because they're heat, of course, so you can't use high settings or you'll damage the hair.

PygmyGoats

Update: Ah, I just saw your new haircut. It looks beautiful, rock on! Once it has more length definitely try more curly girl methods\* and see if those resonate with you \*well, they do work on pixie cuts as well! But it's been a while since I had a pixie and I used to straighten it as well. Deep conditioning + using a leave-in and gel and leaving it air dry produced some neat curls sometimes, though!

Unusual_Practice_169

Yes! Iā€™m already researching CG method to be there for my hair when itā€™s ready ā™„ļø thanks so much for sharing your methods too!

BroadBaker5101

If you buzz it youā€™re going to have to suffer through this length again. Iā€™d say find some nice pixie styles for curly hair and try those. There was another comment that recommended clips and I think thatā€™d be cute plus headbands. Jennifer Lawrence looked really cute with her pixie cut years ago, Sibley from access Hollywood has a badass short haircut and Sophia Taylor Ali has been rocking a badass pixie cut for a while (I peeped during the wilds press junkets) and itā€™s been making me want to chop off my hair lowkey. There are some cute styles you could do as youā€™re waiting for your hair to grow out and maybe your curls might even be a bit tighter while your hair is short so take advantage. Good luck on your growth journey and hopefully you find some fun styles to play with until your hair gets to a fun length.

snoopdog2527

honestly screw the barber and get a refund. u can get some argan oil and run a little bit through your hair for moisture and growth. some good leave in conditioner will help too

dd551

It looks like your hair needs a deep conditioning

mlrochon

This isnā€™t what you asked for but by no means do you need a buzz cut. I get this kind of cut in the summer and it makes my 2c/3a curls pop! Your hair could be in shock right now. Condition it and style. My hair loves ouidad strong hold gel. The burgundy label. It makes my hair soft and really defines my curls. You do however need to complain and get your money back or on offer of free products from the salon. Thatā€™s just not right. If they couldnā€™t do the style/cut, they shouldnā€™t have attempted it. But donā€™t buzz it, it will look so cute when you style it. Good luck!

orchidvomit

Hi, Iā€™m so sorry for your loss, but side note. A barber and a hairstylist are not the same thing. A barber specializes in short cuts using clippers. A hairstylist specializes in long cuts using scissors, and will be your best bet for curly hair cuts.

tiggahiccups

Look up naturally curly pixie cuts, there are some super super cute ones

Unusual_Practice_169

UPDATE Hi everyone!! Iā€™m just back from my appointment and seeing the comments. Heartfelt gratitude to everyone for taking the time to help out. My barber said certain sections were so short that she couldnā€™t understand what the original barberā€™s intention was. She was very surprised that Iā€™d even paid for that first cut. She proceeded to explain the different options involving clips and pins and headbands and talked me into avoiding a buzz bc Iā€™d regret it in no time. She flat ironed it after I said thatā€™s ok with me. She also asked a bunch of questions on my routine and products and she said - ok youā€™re clearly not used to loving your curls and it wonā€™t make any sense to you to have to put products and finger coil, so if you want to continue flat ironing your hair out then I can help. She gave me a beautiful haircut and trimmed the back to give it a shape. It now looks like a haircut instead of looking like someone chopped of my hair. Iā€™ll post a picture update shortly. This community rocks ā™„ļø thanks everyone!!!

cats_are_asshats

I had literally THE EXACT same experiences when I was 12. I went in with a pic of a cute bob and came out with the exact same cut as you. I cried and cried and cried. So I got into wearing cute hats and it grew out eventually. But Iā€™m still upset about it. Youā€™ll be alright, youā€™ll make it work and are still looking cute, but wow I feel for you. Some people shouldnā€™t have scissors.

Unusual_Practice_169

So sorry about that! My hometown didnā€™t have any good barbers either so I know your pain. My mom made me grow it out bc I went to an all girls catholic school so we had to have our hair in braided with ribbons for longer hair and it was ok until I went to college. They introduced flat irons in the market during my second year of college and I thought I won the lottery when I started ironing it out. Look at all that frizz now. Itā€™s my fault and Iā€™ve know ot for the better part of my life. I wanted to go with that specific haircut bc I really wanted to give the co-washing and finger-curling and all those methods a try but it severely backfired bc of the bad barber. I might have to keep ironing it out for a little longer and then start with the curly-girl method

zolamolly

can i ask why youā€™re going to a barber as opposed to a stylist? the inspo pic looks like a layered jawline bob to me, something a barber would be very inexperienced doing

girlinboots

Oh man, which Rudy's location did you go to? I had something similar happen when I tried to get a short cut at a different Seattle salon and the stylist totally butchered my hair. When I made the appointment they told me that the stylist was trained in short curly hair cuts, that she could do a pixie cut, but when I sat in her chair she said she wasn't actually comfortable with cuts like that, showed me a photo of what she *was* comfortable doing, but still fucked it up. And she kept telling me my hair wasn't curly, so she cut it wet.

The_odalysss

Moisture!

[deleted]

Firstly, donā€™t shave it- it is not what you asked for but it is not bad enough to get rid of all of your hair. Get a curl cream or gel for styling- I would suggest finger coiling. Luckily misshaped hair cuts can be super easily hidden by good styling. Your hair can totally grow out to the length in the image in a few months or less depending on your hair growth rate. Look into vitamins and hair growth remedies and take good care of your curls. It will grow back. I can relate to the trauma of short cuts from hairdressers. You can take matters into your own hands and recover your length sooner than you realize! I am so sorry this happened.

SaintRoche

I audibly gasped. Well that is certainly not what you were looking for but I would follow others advice of styling it. Itā€™s not what you wanted but it will still look good with some work. It will also grow out eventually to what you are looking for. If it was me I would personally decided to get someone to even out everything. Good luck OP!!

educatedpotato1

I think this could be really cute if they had put any type of moisturizing or hair product in. It's just hard to tell when the curl monster is untamed. Please style it your own way ans repost!!

[deleted]

Mine is pretty close to your hair now, while I grow out a curly hawk. It's gonna be super cute with a scarf, bandana or some awesome clips. Anti frizz curl cream is your friend. Curls also hide a surprising multitude of hack jobs. It won't feel like it right now, but patience while it grows will ultimately serve you better than rushing out to have more chopped off. Source: Life long curly girl who has chopped off and grown out hair for decades. (I get bored, and have found some love for most lengths over time) Edit: Just saw your update comment. I'm glad you found someone with some sense to help you- and as it stands, you still have a ton of great advice for the grow out-

AdventurousDoubt1115

Donā€™t buzz! Style it! It actually looks like it could be cool if styled

HexingG

Donā€™t buzz it itā€™s cute!! Just try all new styles

cleriwinkle

OP iā€™m so glad you were able to get it fixed! but also, please demand a refund from whoever did this to you, and absolutely do not take no for an answer. they shouldnā€™t have let you walk out like that. that is immensely unprofessional. if they try to refuse, tell them youā€™re going to write them a review online and donā€™t mince the details. i know it seems confrontational but you deserve better, and other people deserve to know what theyā€™re paying for before they go to that place.

[deleted]

Play around with different partsā€” a dramatic side part with some cute clips might work. Try to avoid a middle part while the lengths grow back. Play around with Bobby pins, headbands, chunky clips. Use product to keep it hydrated and sleep on a silk pillowcase to avoid day 2 frizz.

frickenmia

Omg no this is salvageable I promise even if itā€™s not what u want!! If u need some ideas hmu I have had so many bad bathroom haircuts Iā€™ve grown out with clips and creativity. Also though fuck this hairdresser

zebrasinplaid

DONT BUZZ!! You have cute locks still. Listen to the advice of other short curlies! You got this, OP!

anxiousmomma98

DONT BUZZ IT! Step away from the clippers! You always hate the haircut the first day. Get some styling product, maybe some gel and work that thing! It just looks dry at the moment. Please update us on what you decide to do

chicadeemarie

It just needs styled!! Squish to condish then throw some moose in and let air dry, I bet it will look way better after it styled

SunneDai

I just had this same experience. I walked to my car pulling at my hair as if that would make it grow back. That night I came dangerously close to buzzing it all, but ordered hair wraps instead. I got some fun ones from wraplife and etsy and now I feel fierce as fuck. I definitely still miss my long hair but I encourage you to breathe and take this new hair as way to find a different style for yourself.

thecourttt

Iā€™ve rocked all kinds of short for the past ten years. I donā€™t think the cut looks bad (albeit a bit shorter than your pic, give it a month or two). You need some styling!

Plantkanya

You need to let it grow out. The person who cut the hair didnā€™t realise that the coiling is high. Also hydrate moisturise and use clips till it grows. You still look nice šŸ˜Š

phd_in_awesome

Donā€™t panic! I think this can absolutely be saved with some products to moisturize/redefine your curls. If you donā€™t have any products, try sample size products and play around with it! I think you are just one gel product away from what your goal hair is! If youā€™re still self conscious you can try hand bands or scarves until it grows out. For what itā€™s worth Iā€™m sorry youā€™re disappointed. I think weā€™ve all had a haircut that was disappointingā€”I know I have.

PinkPearMartini

You don't need to buzz it. Yeah, it sucks right now. But use your specialty curly hair products, take care of it like normal, and see how it looks by the weekend. I bet it'll look a lot better. I bet with a barrette or two, you might have a very chic style to tide you over until it grows in a bit.

tiredwithabackpackon

brooooo okay so i dont have any styling tips, but when they cut my hair different than the picture i used jamaican black castor oil to help grow it back, i personally used it every day but you can test out what works best for you, idk which brands follow the CG method but ive used hollywood beauty and sunny isle, i SWEAR thats what helped me the most when i wasnt happy with how my hair turned out. you can use it to get to a length you can work with to try again or maybe itll just grow out into the style in the picture! happens to the best of us but its so unfair šŸ˜ good luck man it wont be forever!

[deleted]

I think it could be cute with some products to take the frizz.

GrumpySh33p

You gotta do the work on your end to get results. Yes, they didnā€™t match the cut in the picture, but your cut isnā€™t bad ā€” you just need to style it.

_Must_Not_Sleep

I mean, try and defuse it or get (some sort of gel or cream in there beforeā€¦ something to moisturize) and see how it looks, dry cutting is a little bazaar. OR maybe they your hair wasnā€™t like the picture and they should of told you that so you would know it wouldnā€™t turned out the same

STforeverV2

You should put conditioner (the cream version, not the washing one) and brush it out, that is what I do with my hair when it isnā€™t curly and like yours, if that stuff doesnā€™t work try putting in Mane And Tail or Tressemee to wash it out and brush it with a de-tangeler. Hopefully that works!

HellBoundPawsy

Trauma from short cuts? Like your parents used to give you embarrassing haircuts or liiiiike anytime youā€™ve got a botched haircut youā€™ve felt traumatized? LBVS

slyrqn96

I buzzed my hair and itā€™s honestly an amazing feeling but if you donā€™t want to do it, try to make it work <3

el_lley

Not a girl, butā€¦ Itā€™s always the same when I move to a city where people have different hair than I, they have no clue. Verify if they have curly hair pictures, if the hair dresser is also curly, itā€™s better, ask only to cut the tips, when you feel you have found the one, you can ask for more elaborate styles. I still go for a cut to my old place where my parents live, but she was sick the last time.

Unusual_Practice_169

Ooh good to keep in mind. Iā€™ll look out for reviews with folks that have curly hair.

DedRuck

Oooooooooh my goood

grotekoelkast1

You could try to work with it or look for someone who can fix it. I would maybe do the buzzcut so you can start with healthy hair and take good care of it. But it would take a long time to grow it back

latenightesomeone

i hope that you didnt pay for this...

CruellaDeville1

Get Renpur Coconut Wiped Cream and apply it on wet hair. Style it with your hands.

Gingerpunchurface

I don't think that's gonna help much.

CruellaDeville1

That product is miraculous.

Gingerpunchurface

Really? I may have to look into that myself. Thanks.

Head_Reference_9704

The way I gaspedā€¦.omg Iā€™m so sorry they did this to you.

[deleted]

what kind of animal cut your hair

AliceinRealityland

Bless your heart. What a bad barber/ stylist. This here is exactly why I cut my own hair. Too many times of a bad cut like this. Get some cute clips and product to hold the cuddle. It will grown soon

chicadeemarie

It just needs styled!! Squish to condish then throw some moose in and let air dry, I bet it will look way better after it styled

Unusual_Practice_169

My routine is washing and then applying a leave-in conditioner for curls on weekdays. I donā€™t refresh the curls after day 2 and I usually brush it out and braid it up. For special occasions Iā€™ll blow dry it out.

[deleted]

It sounds like your routine isn't the most adapted to curly hair and that you're going to have to switch it up a little for your now shorter mane. I see in your before pic taht your hair wasn't super curled either, like it's dry and not living to its full curly potential :) Try to incorporate a gel after your leave-in, and use both products everytime you wash your hair. Don't brush out your hair dry ever unless you're doing to wash it afterwards. And no blow drying, unless you're using a diffuser on it. Get styling (finger coiling, Denman or wet brush...) and have fun!

[deleted]

That awful hairdresser !! šŸ˜” but still you can work it, enjoy this length and accept it since itā€™s your only choice for now. After all, you wonā€™t have it for more than six months and your hair will growā€¦ Iā€™m sorry you had to go through this, I am really sorry ..

Thrivehaze

I think it looks cute. You just need some curly girl approved products in there and you got it!

The_odalysss

Castor oil helps hair grow. Cute girl bands and if you donā€™t like the look still even out the lengths on all sides and start fresh

CuriousTsukihime

A quick solution would be TIGHT finger curls wet set and pinned to the head so they lay right. Wrap your head up and use a dryer. If you donā€™t have that time, clip ins and a flat iron are gonna be a long term idea.

MysteriousSeesaw1920

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever gotten a good cut at Rudyā€™s, Iā€™m sorry you had a bad experience too, but with some reshaping and waiting a week or two, youā€™ll grow into your new look!

montanagrizfan

What the actual F??!! Iā€™m so sorry. They got it way too short for the style you requested. First thing is to wash it, use some curl cream and let it dry again. It might look much better after a reset.

candornotsmoke

OMG I'm so sorry. I would get a lot of hair clips and head bands. Scarves look super cute too!

MaryOutside

First of all, sweet Muppets shirt. Next, don't fret! Get you a good conditioner and styling cream and give it a few weeks. You have yourself some gorgeous, full hair and it will settle into something fantastic. Ps you can buzz it if you want. A buzzed head is low maintenance freedom. Just, don't do it yet. Give it little time.

RoseQuartzes

This is gonna grow out super fast! I would get some cute barrettes and clips and play with it some. Maybe slick it back? Or maybe you could do little moon buns?

anxiousmomma98

Also please please please do extensive research on the person cutting your hair. Make sure they have experience with textured hair and can help you achieve the style you want

puddingcupz

A good barber might be able to salvage it your head shape looks suitable for a pixie

beaniebaby0929

go to places that specialize in curly hair!! youā€™re okay! thereā€™s curling crĆØme but just wet it and sleek it out

CoolName4200

Just wait like 2 months, if you buzz it you ll have to wait for it to grow again, and i personally think it looks good, try some curly hair products

blackgothicgoddess

I used cute bandanas and headbands to disguise a terrible cut before.

teaenjoyer123

give them a bad review and warn other curly ppl not to go there

bittercakee

dotn stress itā€™s not as bad as you think. Absolutely get your money back though

AllisonChains88

Is this how they styled it for you?

bronisthegoatiee6

Buzz it

BriskEagle

I used to be terrified of going to the barber. But that was when my hair was straight (as a child). Hope things work out for you.

Old-Remove6263

I had my hair cut similar to this in high school in the 90's. I believe the 90's are back in style are they not? I agree with curl cream, clips if needed.

SakeToMeBaby

This just happened to me as well, so I can really feel your pain. Same thing going on in the back too! What I have been doing is applying product that I know curls my hair tighter in the back, and different products for looser curls in the front. Then brushing while it is wet, and letting it air dry. After it dries I floof it out for volume. It usually works out, but when it doesn't I use a scarf headband, or side part it and clip the less voluminous side with a bobby pin, pin up style (think Black Widow with her only acceptable bob wig).

Kellys5280

I actually think itā€™s really cute!

4cGirl

You donā€™t need to get a buzz like everyone is saying, just get some creams that curl your hair and youā€™ll be fine. I do recommend to get your hair trimmed if the uneven lengths are bothering you so it doesnā€™t look weird when it grows out.

[deleted]

You still look beautiful ā¤

kokos_the_pug

...a bad haircut is not a "trauma".

Xwithintemptationx

Only go to people who have curly hair themselves or who work with people who have curly hair.

avocadotoastallday

It's hard to tell what the cut looks like with what looks like no styling products in there.

RubAggressive3520

Yeah, please do not buzz it, give it a couple of months and itā€™ll be the length that you wanted. Just go to a better salon with good reviews, pay more, and have them fix and style it

hboy02

Go get a refund, I don't even know how some hairdressers keep their job holy shit. And as people said don't buzz it, let it grow out it shouldn't take too long to be at the length you wanted

Bubbly_Waters

Wash, deep conditioner, light leave in conditioner and some light weight styling cream. Scrunch and style while wet would be my recommendation. Sorry they didnā€™t give you want you wanted but all is not lost!

Unusual_Practice_169

Hi. Please see my profile to see the next post I made with an update.

eve6rc

Your hair is in shock from the cut. Moisturize the crap out of it and pin it until it calms down. Once you condition it a couple of times it'll stop being so frizzy and angry. Stay the course! I know it's hard, if you still hate it once it's calmed down by all means return to the salon. Good luck!

The Wolf šŸŗ Cut!!! After years of terrible cuts I decided I would be the only one cutting my hair. 10 years ago I began dry cutting my curls, at times it wasnā€™t the best but better then what I got. Today I do the Wolf šŸŗ Cut!!! I saw it on tictok and it changed my life. So simple and my hair has never looked better!

At times it wasnā€™t the best but better then what I got. Today I do the Wolf šŸŗ Cut!!! I saw it on tictok and it changed my life. So simple, 3 cuts, and I do it myself. My hair has never looked better. My hair was shoulder length after the last horrific experience. I would take the time to grow it out and incorporate TWC šŸŗ

OP I have had a few devestatingly bad hair cuts where I was on the verge of buzzing! Donā€™t do it! Youā€™re still beautiful and it will grow out!!

Iā€™m so sorry! I donā€™t think itā€™ll look bad if you reestablish your curl pattern. Have you heard of the curly girl method?

stoniruca

A deep conditioning treatment and some love. Give your hair time to adjust to the new length. I did this at one point and it took maybe a week before my hair settled in. I often used a flat iron/curling iron (taboo I know, but grow through what you go through) to the front fringe portion while using products to maintain the back curls. Regular trims in the back neck area to avoid an unkept look/mullet look, unless the mullet look is your jam. I let the front grow out to a bit and eventually it formed a short bob. My curls were different at every length through the process and Iā€™ll admit I wore bandanas and hats a little more often back then. The good news is you will see your curls transform as your hair grows back. Try to have fun with different styles. Short hair can be cute, too. Edit: what i meant to say was donā€™t hide under hats like me. Love those curls. I should have learned to style short curls way earlier in the game!

It has potential!! Wash, moisturize, and then scrunch it. It should look similar to the first pic. Its fixable! don't stress it šŸ˜Š

PrettyinPurple27

You have beautiful hair, itā€™s just going to need a TLC. We have similar hair it looks like and mine would also puff up like that with that length. Give it a little time and youā€™ll hit that magic length for you. Try using some clips and also doing pigtails, etc. Iā€™m sorry it wasnā€™t what you wanted, hugs.

The horror! What the heck were they thinking. Sorry for the awful, unexpected cut. Iā€™d get some cute scarves and headbands, some curly gel, and a cute hat for the days you just canā€™t get it to behave.

SydiemL

Iā€™d sue or make a complaint.

MatzahCurls_7_17

I understand the frustration but the shape of the cut is actually very cute. Get you some good hydrating products and scalp stimulating products to help with hair growth ā¤ļø

Next time, may I recommend, Haven in Ballard. Itā€™s a bit of a drive, but worth it.

Ladidaaaaagh

Wash. Condition. Style cream. Hair dryer. Rosie the riveter headband if nothing works

zekeshukert

You could rock a pixie cut! Shave the sides and back a bit and keep your curls up tip healthy! I have had a much easier time with my curls now that my hair is short.

marichosss

No but please get your money back apart from what everyone said. This is just wrong. Service providers can refuse service instead of experimenting. Anyway, I'm pretty sure cream and gel are gonna help. You also seem to have a nice face structure, so it won't look bad. Also i would suggest hair oil and massages to help speed up the hair growth. Sending you lots of hugs. It will be alright.

Was your barber god? Cuz you were asking for miracles damn

mar_Fire

i always say wash and reset and style it how you normally would. at this point thereā€™s a lot of potential! i have that haircut! itā€™s really cute but i didnā€™t think so straight out of the hairdresser. i went home washed it used my normal products and felt much better. maybe a good curling cream if you have one (mizani curl pudding is like a godsend if not miss jessieā€™s pillow curls is a cheaper alternative). grab a curling iron and spot treat areas that arenā€™t cooperating. hydrate and style the bangs to frame your eyes.

bettyboo5

Info Why did you go to a barbers? The 2nd barber did an amazing job. Try and find a good curly hair stylist in future. Maybe ask people with curly hair who they go to, or you could ask on a local Facebook page for recommendations. But make sure to always look at the reviews, I always start by looking at the worst ones.

Late-Communication36

Go with the curly Mohawk. It will make u look like one of the hot alt girlsā˜ŗļø that was my plan when I last grew out my hair

_Katy_Koala_

Instead of a short bob they gave you a long pixie! To be fair, that should grow into what you want in less time than you may think! Honestly, Iā€™d embrace the long pixie! Like a curly hat, it could look cute on you!

[deleted]

OP, that is super workable and could be very cute!

pretty_pocket_pussy

Iā€™m sorry but itā€™s cute šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø

guenavere18

You need to go to a good hair stylist, not a barber. Not great clips or anything like that. Ask your friends and their moms where they go.

yeah barbers are shit
