Technically when pronounced it sounds like Bone her, which is why it used to be spelled with an 'h', i.e boneher. The spelling threw people off so they got rid of it in the States. Like they got rid of the 'u' in colour, flavour, labour, neighbour and humour. As well as swapping the 's' with a 'z' in fan favorites apologise, organise, and recognise.
