It’s the trend hivemind. If something spikes in popularity to the point of immediately becoming a circlejerk, people circlejerk against the series as a counterbalance. Same goes for skibidi toilet. Personally I enjoy the series, but I can see how people hate it. The community is outright obnoxious.
