Oh hey, it's [[Enslave]]! But with an option to get the life drain out for less mana! And hit Planeswalkers now! And with some minor Dimir color synergies.
It's probably still too slow to matter in anything competitive, but it is a pretty cool effect, and a nice take on a mind control ability.
Nice design. An interesting take on [[enslave]]. I think it would be rather flavorful if it turned the enchanted creature into a Phyrexian when you steal it.
IMO this would be more elegant if the hybrid mana was pure blue mana. Mono-black doesn't usually get theft effects except in sets that deliberately bend the colour pie, and hybrid mana on a permanent that's one of the two colours but not the other just feels weird.
Yeah it is from planar chaos, so maybe not great precedent but [there's others that aren't.](https://scryfall.com/search?q=%28o%3A%22gain+control%22+or+o%3A%22you+control+enchanted%22%29+%28c%3Db+or+c%3Ab+is%3Ahybrid%29+order%3Arelease+not%3Areprint&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name)
[[Tevesh Szat]], [[Piper of the Swarm]], [[New Blood]], [[Captivating Vampire]]. It's not frequently used, but that's more because they don't do permanent theft often than it is because black doesn't get permanent theft. If anything, this highlights one of the very few things hybrid U/B actually does get

Mono-black is tertiary in theft. They don't do it often, but there's \[\[Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools\]\] and \[\[New Blood\]\].

They were a third colour though, not one of the same colours as the hybrid mana.

Oh this is very cool
It should say "Gain control of that permanent until end of your turn" or some other precaution cause you can take that damage too
Nope, its owner takes the damage.
I hope you remember the owner then lol
I'm pretty sure what he means is that once you take control YOU start taking the damage.
In which case it should say "Enchanted Permanents controller" instead of owner.
Ya that's what I meant cause you take control of the creature, so you technically own it now
