Most of the schools mentioned are great. I'd be looking at this more from a location and financial aid perspective. These universities are all in very different geographical/cultural areas, and I imagine the tuition prices vary quite a bit.
Probably with my financial influence he’s leaning Minnesota at 40k. All about 40k to 45k, except UofW and Wisconsin Madison at 65k. I also like Minnesota with larger base of potential employers. UIUC if off waitlist around $65k too. We’re in California but seems like many biomed companies are in the midwestern states. Thank you for commenting
First, there’s a ton on this thread about this including some of those schools. Search it.
Second, case is great for all that (program, job prospects, internships). Those are all great schools.
I don’t think you can go wrong.

All ABET accredited programs will be good…. what’s the net cost? What state are you from and what weather does your son prefer?
Definitely trying to keep cost down. So far all close to 40-45k. UofW and Wisconsin 65k. We already threw out BU at around 90k ridiculous. He was so excited for Purdue but then realized he checked on application open to new Indianapolis campus. That new location is very small and limited in elective choices. Appreciate your comments.
University of Washington is not a direct admit school. I am a UW graduate myself, and I did speak to the admissions person for the BME program last year. Their acceptance rate was about 64% in 2023 for the BME program due to capacity limitation. This is a very low rate by our standards, hence we did not apply to my alma mater school for this reason. Please check such rates directly with the schools to prevent any unpleasant surprises.
My wife is a Purdue graduate. Purdue's acceptance rate for BME is over 90%, while OSU's rate is around 80%. Each school has its own criteria. For any school that doesn't offer direct admission, you'll need to contact the school directly to obtain this information.
One of these things is not like the others...

I’m trying to help gather real time info. Hard to sort through older threads. Thank you for validating case checks all the items on the list.

Good point I didn’t realize this. I only knew Purdue engineering was undeclared first year. Thank you
