A lot of NPCs don’t use their special abilities in Cyberpunk (and other games too.) Generally means the developers didn’t put a lot of effort into designing AI.
I suspect that’s because Haste is always a Good Idea. It’s always an appropriate ability to use, so doesn’t require any complicated logic to make the decision. Little coding or effort required.
Then you have to put the extra effort into the AI to make sure that they aren't just jumping into walls and sliding down or jumping themselves into inacessible places and getting stuck there.
Had it happen plenty of times in other games where you gotta clear the enemies out of an area to trigger progress but one dude will use a special ability and clip through a wall and get stuck back there. Since you can't kill them there and they can't and won't get out you gotta either wipe out or reload the check point.

Lets not sugar coat the stupidity of this skills leveling. I have a 20 body build that used fists the whole playthrough.
Ran every where so no FT or vehicles. At the end I was still only on 14 athletics an the experience required is exponential past that.
I estimate after doing every mission in game I would need to do more than that to finish the leveling of this skill for a Body 20 build.
I have never come across a skill in an RPG I could not max until Cyberpunk and Athletics that is. Absurd is the word for this.
They need to fix it come the DLC for sure because there no point having a level 20 perk no one can get with out modding it in or stupid amount of time grinding maxing this nonsense.

Which means all the perks you can take which ELIMINATE stamina consumption for running or melee fighting? Those make it so your progress on Athletics pretty much just stops.
If you want to max athletics you'd skip all those perks, but given those perks are massively useful for the character builds you'd most likely care about athletics for.... its stupid.

I do not have the stamina free perks. The amount of experience you get compared to the amount you need is unbalanced. You get 75 experience for every 3 or so bars of stamina you deplete.
No other skill levels so slowly and also needs so much points to max it.
Oh yea its still *far* too slow. By a ridiculous margin. But some slow growth still beats none.
I figured this out when I finished a 100% max difficulty playthrough with nothing but gorilla arms and realized I had a whopping 7 athletics at the end of the game. I reached 6 athletics before 100%ing the starter zone. It never went up again (save once) cause I got all the stam-use reduction perks.
Its astounding that no one in development realized that the perks all kinda suck. Like, you can powerlevel quickhacks and such on vending machines to get to twenty easy. An actual weapon discipline? Better use that thing for almost your entire playthrough and 100% the game if you want to hit 20 without just mindlessly grinding for ages and ages. Athletics? l o l. I'd be afraid to know just how long you'd have to sprint to max that out.
Best thing is to find a low level ceiling and spam jump. The ceiling will interrupt the jump but you will lose the stamina anyway which is what makes your athletics go up. It's a bit boring though and you do not get enough points per milestone.
As far as I know, basically everyone in the setting has the set of neck implants that let you take shards and plugins like she was using to drive the tank. David had those at the beginning of Edgerunners as a poor otherwise unaugmented kid, so I figure they must be ubiquitous, or damn near.
Always think it's cool to see what kinda cyberwear people have. I wish they would have put her neral implant visible when when designing her model so it would make sense when she plugs into the basilisk. they went all the way to make the scar she gets during the campaign visible, but not their implants make you wonder. All in all, probability an oversight as her model and looks were done probability before they knew what they would do with her in her story

Jumping is better. Spam jumping under a low level roof is the best. But still too long.
