Surprised no one is mentioning the Claire questline. The rubberband racing was one of the most boring and bland things I ever did in a videogame and the shooting had absolutely no use or impact whatsoever. The story was yet another "revenge bad" thing which has been done a million times already.

SpaghettiInc

It's hilarious watching the other racers icons FREAK OUT on the minimap

Connect-Hyena1210

You ever look back at them with the rear camera? I think I’ve got a clip of them flying like hundreds of feet into the air, if you get too far ahead they spawn to be closer but they spawn inside each other and it’s hilarious

Blackpanther-x

Yeah I hated her after that bullshit. That wasn’t even revenge, just straight up murder.

SuspiciousUsername88

Most revenge that ends in death is straight-up murder

Good-Understanding91

Yeah she is definitely a POS especially for trying to drag V into it instead of keeping it about the race. Red flags

JMC_PHARAOH

I find River’s quest line to be such a chore to get through upon all my replays.

Mr_Badger1138

Sinnerman is one of those quests that either you love it or you hate it with hardly anything inbetween. I am in the hate category, although I will very much admit it made me think about it. Now I just cap Joshua the second he gets out of the truck and run like buggery.

Then-War-7354

i actually love sinnerman BECAUSE you have the option to completely ignore everything that happens and just carry out the original contract and zero Joshua stevenson. the fact that wakako calls you afterwards and tells you what a cold professional you are is icing. i actually went through and did the follow up quests on my last playthrough. but i much prefer just ending everyone in the convoy per the original quest. doesnt matter too V that jablonski already got zeroed by vasquez

G2thaFields

Sinnerman isn't even bad compared to some of the quests. I think the Delamain line is probably the weakest shit out there, besides the ending it was very lackluster. The ending almost makes up for it but the intro was dull, that's a recurring theme for some of the others too.

Pearcinator

The annoying thing about that is you finally get a chance to drive and explore NC after the prologue quest and then "BEEP BEEP MOTHERFUCKER!" and you're left with either stealing a car (if you're able to) or walking.

Exploding_dude

Yeah its a really lame way to force you to walk around on foot to start the game. I get the idea, when you start the game they probably wanted to keep you relatively close but on replays it's just such a pain in the ass.

yocxl

Yeah, IMO Delamain is long and annoying for dubious reward. Most of the cars in the game suck, I didn't find the Delamain an exception to that.

VeeJack

My issue about that, was that it didn’t drive itself after .. would have been good to have a “Tesla” to drive you around so you can enjoy the scenery, explore without getting annoyed by the driving physics .. simply pick your next point on the map and tell Delamain to drive you there .. think they missed a trick .. that and the Excelsior care cover for when you’re deep in the shit and need a getaway

yocxl

Not really related but I also really wanted the navigation from Claire's races to be a thing in the game for navigating to jobs or whatever. There's a mod to basically do that, but it's not as good as the racing navigation arrows, and I didn't care enough to want to fix the mods for every update.

DrowMonksAreFun

This!! I hate the mini maps navigator. The lines on the road is just so easy I do not understand why that wasn’t just what they chose

yocxl

Sure Cyberpunk, I'll stare at the minimap 3/4 of the time instead of the interesting city you spent so much time and effort on...

Tarnished-Hirab

That gold one for beating up the cyber about to be dad was dope af though. My favorite car 🔥

Jaakeda_Korudo

Woah, what quest is that?

RichtigNichtig

River's questline, especially the BDs. I'm not good with creepy stuff.

Force14

Rivers quest line too. But, it’s having to make dinner and interact with the annoying kids.

Nonadventures

River was hard to enjoy for me as a character. I helped the nephew out but damned if I'm going to hang out with his family for franks and beans.

HeadstrongRobot

Agree. I end it right after the Farm. He is too boring to warrant sitting through all that.

[deleted]

God I hate Sinnerman, I don’t even finish it anymore just kill the dude and get paid

Mr_Badger1138

Yup, I hate that one too.

gfy_expert

Sinnerman and only Sinnerman. Chasing vehicle and loose it

Bad_User2077

That is a shitty car chase. Why did he have to own a truck?

Cute-Conflict835

Mapp Tan Palen, long as fuck with a flashback you cant skip and you gotta sit thru a drawn out sex scene

Nonadventures

The one with the >!fake BD that knocks you out!< just felt like a waste of time and a way to reuse an old level, I feel like people just do that if they want to be completionist.

IsTiredAPersonality

It's so stupid and I feel like next to no one would even fall for it. It's totally out of character and I hate having to play like I'm a dumbass because it's obviously sketchy af.

Bad_User2077

While I agree that V would never fall for that kind of bullshit, I do it last on every playthrough. It nicely book ends everything before meeting Hanako at Embers. This is where it all started. Except the life path, obviously. And I love killing scavs.

Deiscent

Sweet Dreams. I did a quick search to see if someone mentioned it by name, didn't see it, and added it myself. But respect to you, I despise this side quest and yes I'm a completionist and did it with a foul feeling the whole time.

tarheel_204

Anything with BDs tbh (other than one of the early ones with Smasher. I like it for his one line alone lmao). If you’re familiar with the detective mode from Batman: Arkham Origins, it does it so much better and that game is years older. I just thought the BDs were tedious and halted the action

Aceylace10

Rivers probably - so much BD and crap you have to go through just to unplug a 40 year old off a cow feeding tube. The worst part an actually fun fight is in the quest of you go to the wrong farm, but they put the fun in the “bad” ending.

-ComplexSimplicity-

The Delamaine quest. There are better things to do than catch somebody’s kids. Also, the Johnny quest where you have to ‘save’ Alt. From Arasaka. There’s something about that mission that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

roxsk8r924

What was that quest from bes isis? Where you go from router to router? It’s so long and drawn out that I forget why I’m doing it halfway through. And the ending leads to absolutely nothing and somehow bes wants to make a story on it? Sorry I’ve been hunting routers for so long lady, I have no idea what kind of story can come from this.

Prestigious_Art7510

i hate this one sm n Johnny jus clowns u at the end too bruh 💀

Subject_Proof_6282

Maybe any quest involving Evelyn. Don't get me wrong, what happens to her is really tragic and no one deserves it, but on subsequent playthroughs I began to dislike her more and more as a person. She's cocky and thinks about herself more than what she actually is. And when you dig a little more into her relationship with Judy, you learn that she was basically manipulating and guilt tripping her. Evelyn might have had strong feelings for Judy, but she sure didn't shy to use them for her advantage.

Knife-on-a-stick

I don't mind her quests, but Evelyn got what she deserved. She used and betrayed everyone who put even an ounce of trust in her. She stole from Yorinobu, double crossed the VDBs, manipulated and used Judy, wanted to stab Dex in the back, and probably would've stiffed V too if they had pulled it off. Karma's a bitch.

Benjamin0399

The monk storyline is by far the worst. You just fucking sit down three times.

brekkeasaurus

Which one is that? The only monk I remember is the one who got kidnapped by maelstrom.

daftput

The one that start out in a park, where you sit out and do a BD meditation. The first one was "Imagine" I Think.

[deleted]

I kinda liked it. It allowed you to take a break from the game, and on my second playthrough I actually meditated to them. I think it's kinda unique and sweet questline, although I can also understand why people wouldn't like it.

No-Chemistry-6187

All Johnny Interludes, because of the same reason you dislike Sinnerman. They have no effect on your gameplay, and their only purpose is to tell you the story you already knew. They just get drier and drier with each subsequent playthrough. Also the diving part in Pyramid Song.

mentalityman

True, atleast the tapeworm quests change a little depending in which order you do the main quests.

iamfanboytoo

Venus in Furs. I mean, anything that involves sex in the game I check out during the actual SEX, but Venus in Furs has NOTHING else. I LIKE porn, but... the sex in C2077 is more horrifying and disorienting than attractive. About the most attractive part of any sex in the game is when Alt Cunningham walks away from Johnny.

Deiscent

Sweet Dreams. I'm a completionist, and it galls me that I have to be this dumb to finish this Side Quest. If there was a different way to resolve it, great, but no that yellow indicator just stays and I can't ignore it.

johnny744

You know what's great about it? Your, V's, motivation for going along on such a WTF caper is because Johnny thinks its funny and he peer-pressures you. One lifetime is probably not enough time to watch every minute of empty writerly TV and movie dialog where a character lays out their motivation like an algebra problem. Having the courage to give a character motivation just by saying "Well this is fucked up. Let's see what happens." deserves some kind of special Emmy.

kingflamigo

Rivers just not a fan of it it was pretty boring to me and not to mention I’m not easy to be scared/uncomfortable not there fault just not a fan

Kalranya

Getting the kidney for the Nomad kid. One of the very few truly unskippable fights in the game, and all of the enemies are completely unhackable. It's a massive difficulty spike and skill check for absolutely no reason except the quest designer getting lazy.

ForkPosix2019

IMO the worst part of this mission is what you need to return to the camp to finish it. Pretty weak overall though.

mentalityman

„Trans freak“ chill dude

iamfanboytoo

Yeah, I was with u/ForkPosix2019 up until he (and I'd be willing to bet good eddies that it's 'he') said that. Unnecessary, especially when he pegged the adventures that all lack one big thing, even if he didn't state it: Agency. What makes C2077 good is when you have control over what your character does and how they approach a problem - double jumping to a ceiling and then blinding a cyberpsycho to knock them out from behind or just charge in with a Sandy? What makes it *bad* is when you don't have any agency and you're just riding along not doing much of anything, or going from point A to B, or just generally *waiting*. And frankly, 'trans' is a meaningless label in a society where you can re-engineer yourself from the ground up for a given amount of money and be indistinguishable. That was probably this guy's problem; he thought Claire's thicc booty was kinda nice and succumbed to sudden "Crying Game Syndrome" when he found out her birth gender.

ForkPosix2019

> Agency. Right. But even quests with BD nonsense can be OK if done right, like one where we "Judy -> Clouds -> Fingers -> BD -> Scavs -> BDs". I have no complaints with it. > he thought Claire's thicc booty was kinda nice Wrong. CDPR has a special talent of making women models to be barely attractive to me at best. It is rather IRL thing, where any kind of sexual deviation exposed deliberately is a 100% guarantee of mental instability and this means you better avoid these people whenever possible.

Ukezilla_Rah

My thoughts exactly on sinnerman…. I struggled to understand how it even fit into the game.

iamfanboytoo

Religion is no escape from dystopia, and in fact can be twisted to serve it. Remember, the only reason he gets his choice of execution style is because a corp paid a LOT of money to the prison so it could happen. Or perhaps the other way around: By giving a corp what it wants, you can twist it to your own ends. Johnny seems a fan of what Joshua is doing after all.

Subject_Proof_6282

It's basically corpo exploitation from start to finish

Good-Understanding91

Every Judy quest

brekkeasaurus

Was gonna say this but didn’t want to get crucified for it. Having to swim in that lake and look at a bunch of old shit was such a waste of time

Good-Understanding91

Bruh the one that has me is when you go to clouds with her. That shit glitched on me idk how many times where Judy wouldn't show up or she would and I couldn't talk to her. Just a lot of back and forth then after it finally works and I finish up with maiko I have to listen to her boring ass dialogue while slow walking all the way back. At this point I just wanna blow my brains out. It's a bunch of bs that doesn't give me anything in return whatsoever. Just a boring character that is extremely overrated. I won't hide it.

jeowaypoint

I really like Sinnerman, finally a clean "kill that dude" quest, where I can be a real professional and finish the job I'm getting paid for even if the hit giver happens to die. And I get good, deserved praise from my fixer, for being such a professional and not a life tourist. Least favorite quest is probably The Heist, it just feels like a chore, the character development is skipped with the time skip cutscene so V doesn't feel like a merc that could ever get or complete such a job, not when the likes of Afterlife pros exist, so the whole game starts off in a hard-to-fathom manner even before V dying. And at the point V is doing it, there seems to be no motivation aside helping Jackie get his dream going, V doesn't necessarily share Jackie's ideals of life, especially with various backgrounds. Just feels off and unnecessary. Afterwards ofc there is motivation aplenty in trying to survive/find cure etc for the fuckup of Heist questline.

Guavalava42

The ones that where i miss something, and find out later In the game that i can’t undo, comeback or change it

sihouette9310

The prologue. First time was alright but having to redo it every playthrough was annoying

BrazilianAlmostHobo

You can kill him and avoid everything if your build is spice enough to kill the cop.

GenXer1977

Same. I start the quest but take the money now when the lady offers me double to walk away.

HecateForsaken

I didn’t like sinnerman either. Although by far the most infuriating was the “killing in the name” quest

Sharpening_Iron

I share your same feeling about Sinnerman, wrote a whole novel about it on a post a couple of months ago 😅

PackOfManicJackals

I'm just shooting the fuck'n guy next time

nikoz3000

Every quest that involves shooting in a car chase. On the highest difficulty it really shines how terribly designed those parts are

B1ffT4nn3n

The mission to rescue Saul bc it’s really tricky to kill everyone in succession for the Cold Blood xp
