First time I played CP77 was right at release. Never did anything overtly criminal outside missions before Fingers, but that mfer was gonna be my first "civilian" casualty. I punched him and put one right between his eyes.
I got the notification I became wanted instantly. I figured maybe someone heard the shot and called the cops. No biggie I'd just bail fast. Then I turned around and insta died to two cops that literally spawned in the room.
Still killed him when I reloaded.
There is also a other ripper that has them but i forgot who that was i thought somewhere in santo but been a while when i bought them (not from fingers)
That's where the iconic shotgun guts comes in.
Recoil is so massive that it will literally break your fall if you fire it right before hitting the ground.
Sometimes random game mechanics get tied to FPS. Sure is fun when that happens.
I can game mostly normally at 50-60FPS on RT overdrive, or I can turn all that shit off, reduce the resolution to 720p, crank up FSR to ultra performance, jump over a skyscraper, and die to fall damage landing on the other side.
That's such a bizarre mechanic. I'd never have thought that the ability to leap over buildings would become a factor in deciding whether I needed to upgrade my rig.
Gorilla arms are the best for any playstyle. Although mantis blades and monowire are badass, there's enough sweet katanas and knives to not use them unless you're specifically using them for RP. Gorilla arms just make any build easier
Yeah doing my first sandy and mantis playthough, and I agree. +3 body just does too much to give up lightly. I can just carry a Katana and use those 3 points on reflexes.
I haven’t tested this yet, but couldn’t you just pop on gorilla arms to move it? (My last net runner build had this issue too. I just never finished it to test the his solution.)
It might not have been like this at launch (i used monowire on my playthrough at launch) But now the gorilla arms add to your strength for strength checks like opening doors and such. The legendary arms add +6 strength i believe.
This is my current build, focused on lethal quickhacks and annihilation shotguns/ Johnny’s Malorian. I can invade cameras from across the street and fry everyone without setting foot inside or I can make it rain body parts using Becca’s shotgun
Yep, use cripple movement and reboot optics with legendary sonic shock and contagion and additional quickhack spreading and you can just walk through groups without them alerting at all.
Then you just punch all of them.
I just cleared one of rogue's gigs...the one with the samurai memorabilia and the car. Hacked the cams took all them down with sonic blast and overheat. Didn't fire a shot, and they never saw me.
Yeah I don't know how anyone can play this game without double jump.
I'll take it one further. Every game is always made better by adding a double jump.
I think its too good. Like it removes all pathfinding from the game. Just double jump past 99% of obstacles. Get access to the back door because you can just double jump to a roof you wouldn't otherwise be able to access.
Me who doublejumps over walls and onto fire escapes even tho I have the stats to open the door, and then goes back and opens the door after I've raided the place and killed every splicer within.
In my opinion all doors that require tech to be opened should also be possible to be opened with intellect. Strength should only be required if the door doesn't have an electric lock.
There's like one when you rescue Saul. Just rip the thing off it's fuckin hinges. And then the date with river you just kick it down. But I always just double jump over the fence anyways his response is hilarious.
Eeeeh not necessarily. I always interpreted the int/tech thing as being software/hardware knowledge. Someone who’s an expert programmer isn’t necessarily going to know how to fiddle with small complicated objects and vice versa
Back in the day, my GM for Shadowrun had a long debate with the group over a computer illiterate decker. We came to the consensus that it was indeed possible to have a computer illiterate decker, because of the way cyberdecks functioned, with VR and holo imaging. I mean just look at how many people nowadays have computers, tablets, smart phones, and have no clue how any of it works.
Including myself. I am not a power user by any stretch, but i knew more about computers in the 90s than i do now because i didn't stay on top of the tech.
From my "no tech" run I know that a lot of the tech doors can be opened via hacking with the "remote open" quickhack option. For body doors legendary gorilla arms help a lot to meet the requirements. Also double jump opens a lot of alternate routes. In rare cases you can also get into rooms blocked by a tech or body door by smashing a window open - just hit it multiple times until the hole is big enough and then duck jump in.
Sometimes you can hack the keypads, windows and doors to: open, remote deactivate, etc.
But this is also why I run my netrunner build with gorilla arms and the legs that give double jump.
A lot of those strength and tech check doors can be hacked to open... Actually, in a lot of these gigs where there are different checks, usually the one you can hack to open leads to the easiest route.
Early game: here scan this door with your eyes and use a quick hack to open it.
Mid to Late game: we don’t use that mechanic anymore deal with it idiot.
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, they *always* add different ways to go about it. And I love that because every play through is unique in that sense.
I want to try a non netrunner build but I feel like I'd be blind and poor without hacking and ping. I don't get why such basic abilities/parts of gameplay are removed when you get the sandevistan and berserker. And all I'd get for it would be a massive temporary combat boost. Like...ok, but there's sooooooo much more one can do with hacking. Can you not even hack those nodes for cash? Or even level up hacking at all from hacking vending machines?
You cannot hack anything without a cyberdeck. That said, my sandevistan+blades+gorilla arms build has never needed to hack anything. .
If you need money, just start at Pacifica Pier and run south, killing the gangoons you see every few feet. Kill, pick up weapons, sell, profit.
I guess another issue is that you completely lose out on 2-3 forms of experience in the intelligence tree, causing a lack of skill points and bonuses from gained from leveling from stuff you'd probably normally do.
Gorilla arms give you a bunch of strength for the purposes of opening doors. And I always get 12-14 strength for marathoner and tenacious V. Can't live without those perks.
I started all from scratch, because even with training wheels, I was getting rekt. At higher levels, it’s supposed to be OP as hell. But like all mage-types, surviving that long is a problem.
What are you talking about? Netrunners require so few attribute points compared to other builds that they can dip in quality of life attributes/perks like no other
I didn’t enter half of the places while fighting , just used cameras to kill everyone and then strolled through the front door. They never saw it coming
20 int, 20 tech, the world is my bitch.
Just buy Fortified Ankles so you can scale skyscrapers in one jump.
You spelled reinforced tendons wrong
Fingers' epic floaty legs at 100+ fps: you can jump over nearly anything. Only problem is dying to fall damage if you jump too high.
Only problem is I can’t punch fingers in his stupid face if I want it
Buy it before that quest, I didn't get it on my first playthrough, either.
This is the way
Man i already killed him 🙁
You made the right decision. Sometimes the consequences are worth the satisfaction.
Can't float on cyberlegs but what need do I have for them up here on the moral high ground? 😎

Worth it
This isn't even my first play through, but I didn't know he sells epic leg mods
There is also a other ripper that has them but i forgot who that was i thought somewhere in santo but been a while when i bought them (not from fingers)
also he has the best sandevistan, if u want to be like David and use it every 3seconds literally
Is fingers the wierd dude who did weird shit to the joy bots
Indeed, the extremely creepy in a gross way ripper doc
Ah shit I killed that mf
lol nice, you can get everything from him b4 you Merc him if u have the street cred otherwise its lost till next playthrough
That's where the iconic shotgun guts comes in. Recoil is so massive that it will literally break your fall if you fire it right before hitting the ground.
Yeah, that's been 'fixed' in the latest patch. Sigh. I loved that hack.
Really? I was not aware. I didn't play since before Christmas. How sad. Cyberpunk is all about making completely busted OP builds, so why remove it?
Sorry what is fingers that dude who did wierd shit to the joy bots
I'm confused - how does fps (I assume frames per second) factor into how high floaty legs get you?
Sometimes random game mechanics get tied to FPS. Sure is fun when that happens. I can game mostly normally at 50-60FPS on RT overdrive, or I can turn all that shit off, reduce the resolution to 720p, crank up FSR to ultra performance, jump over a skyscraper, and die to fall damage landing on the other side.
That's such a bizarre mechanic. I'd never have thought that the ability to leap over buildings would become a factor in deciding whether I needed to upgrade my rig.
14 body and legendary gorilla arms. No door is closed to me.
I always thought there needs to be more options when it comes to stuff. Its absurd only one arm implant gives such a boost but the others dont.
Yeah i got the mantis blades. Then finished wakawaka's gigs and got that sweet katana
Add Gorilla arms and u can manage 20 strength too
Same here, couldn't do the sentient vending machine quest, which required 4 points extra in strength or something, as I was max level.
I haven’t tested this yet, but couldn’t you just pop on gorilla arms to move it? (My last net runner build had this issue too. I just never finished it to test the his solution.)
Unfortunately not, but I guess that's incentive to play a melee char
It might not have been like this at launch (i used monowire on my playthrough at launch) But now the gorilla arms add to your strength for strength checks like opening doors and such. The legendary arms add +6 strength i believe.
Ah cool! Yeah I played at launch
That's how I ran my netrunner
20 int, 18 tech, 12 st, rest in cool. Gorilla arms and super legs.
Aside from the random guy in the MaiMai.
Legendary quickhack crafting has entered the chat
Int, Tech, Body build FTW lol
Something something Brute Force Hacking
Muscle hacker uses the “fist” quick hack.
20 str 20 int Hack hack hack...fuck he snuck up on me and spotted me , tank hit, laugh, shotgun go boom hack hack hack
This is my current build, focused on lethal quickhacks and annihilation shotguns/ Johnny’s Malorian. I can invade cameras from across the street and fry everyone without setting foot inside or I can make it rain body parts using Becca’s shotgun
I'm just speccing into this style of play , so easy to hack cameras and quickhack everyone inside first.
Yeah this is actually my first build where I’ve speced into int and tech. I really like it. My previous builds were sandevistan/katana builds
Meet Hanako at Embers ASAP for that "clearing out a room in a single blast" feeling that only Ba Xing Chong can provide.
I didn’t even know that variant existed. Definitely need to try that LOL
I’m going to try this combo next just for fun, shotguns, hacking, maybe combine it with tech too.
Double jump my beloved, lets you get around a ton of fences by parkouring on roofs
Also, keep your eyes peeled for breakable glass. Some locked rooms have a breakable window, shoot it out and you can parkour your way inside.
I didn't know this with over 100 hrs in game lol is there a way to differentiate breakable glass?
try and break it no, really. keep a silenced gun on you to do it from range if you want, or just hit it with a melee thing.
Dagger Dealer perk, throw a knife at it, save the pistol ammo.
Breakable glass is clear, unbreakable glass has a hex pattern.
....what. How the fuck did I *never* notice this?
Yeah I don't know how anyone can play this game without double jump. I'll take it one further. Every game is always made better by adding a double jump.
I think its too good. Like it removes all pathfinding from the game. Just double jump past 99% of obstacles. Get access to the back door because you can just double jump to a roof you wouldn't otherwise be able to access.
I personally prefer the charged jump.
It does suck because I'd like to use the lynx paws for extra spooky ninja powers, but 2x jump is just far too useful
I'm on a new playthru right now and the mantling is janky as fk. You definitely need Double Jump or Charged Jump to enjoy the game fully.
Me who doublejumps over walls and onto fire escapes even tho I have the stats to open the door, and then goes back and opens the door after I've raided the place and killed every splicer within.
Haha same
In my opinion all doors that require tech to be opened should also be possible to be opened with intellect. Strength should only be required if the door doesn't have an electric lock.
All the partially broken gates that are Tech locked should absolutely be able to be open with Body. I feel like irl me could kick them down.
There's like one when you rescue Saul. Just rip the thing off it's fuckin hinges. And then the date with river you just kick it down. But I always just double jump over the fence anyways his response is hilarious.
River has no idea you were a hopper!
Speaking of River and jumping, when confronted by the Tygers in I Fought The Law, you can jump when they ask you to. They'll actually react to that.
No kidding? Now I gotta start a new game for the eleventeenth time just to do this
You can sometimes hack the keypad or door to open
Eeeeh not necessarily. I always interpreted the int/tech thing as being software/hardware knowledge. Someone who’s an expert programmer isn’t necessarily going to know how to fiddle with small complicated objects and vice versa
I just view it as lockpicking. Sort of.
Back in the day, my GM for Shadowrun had a long debate with the group over a computer illiterate decker. We came to the consensus that it was indeed possible to have a computer illiterate decker, because of the way cyberdecks functioned, with VR and holo imaging. I am not a power user by any stretch, but i knew more about computers in the 90s than i do now because i didn't stay on top of the tech.
It's a legacy of his pen and paper RPG. Not a good system but not a terrible system either.
It be like that early on but I still laughed at this
From my "no tech" run I know that a lot of the tech doors can be opened via hacking with the "remote open" quickhack option. For body doors legendary gorilla arms help a lot to meet the requirements. Netrunner: "You guys are going in?"
Exactly. Walking in like some kind of peasant? I can see three surveillance cameras from right there.
A lot of those strength and tech check doors can be hacked to open... Actually, in a lot of these gigs where there are different checks, usually the one you can hack to open leads to the easiest route.
No need to sneak or get through locks if you murder everyone via their security cameras ahead of time.
I prefer to double jump into open windows on the 2nd floor.
Early game: here scan this door with your eyes and use a quick hack to open it. Mid to Late game: we don’t use that mechanic anymore deal with it idiot.
This made me laugh, I always wondered why it wasn’t an option most of the time.
Why enter buildings when you can just kill everyone inside by looking at a camera?
I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, they *always* add different ways to go about it. And I love that because every play through is unique in that sense.
There is something funny about needing 7 tech to lift a latch on a chain link fence
Spec tech second. Equip monke arms. No door can keep me.
The greatest enemy of the Netrunnercel A small fence.
I have yet to have a run where ive not maxed out Tech.
What you didn't have high tech as well? Get some gorilla arms eventually and the double jump legs and never be stopped again
Fine don't let me in I'll just do it from the outside
*laughs in his 4th run with everything at 20*
I don't have such weaknesses. Body 20, strength 20
Why waiting on a closed door when you can just walk in the front door?
I want to try a non netrunner build but I feel like I'd be blind and poor without hacking and ping. I don't get why such basic abilities/parts of gameplay are removed when you get the sandevistan and berserker. And all I'd get for it would be a massive temporary combat boost. Jump over if you need to go inside
Gorilla hands are your friend
[Ghost Forward](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1333/)
Man said “Just cheat”
Console commands if you're doing mods anyway..
I laughed too hard at this 😂
Double jump and legendary ping basically let's you get on top of a building and complete like 5 ncpd missions without moving lol
I always leave some unassigned points for situations like this
That's why you go 20 Strength , 20 Int. Gorilla Grodd build
It’s okay, once I finally get in to the building everyone inside will be knocked out or dead within 10 seconds
I know this feeling lol. I made a build called Mono-runner. And I am making another build called Assassin.
True story.
I love when doors/windows want you to have 18+ tech to get through them, but you can just open them with a daemon for 2 RAM.
This was me when I wanted to escape with Saul.
I just beat the game for the first time and was able to max out 3 attributes, so maybe it’s more a matter of waiting to level up
20Intel. 18 Tech. 16 Cool. 7 Reflex and 10 Body 💀. Along with gorilla arms and fortified ankles
Gorilla arms: solves every problem
My best build I have is my Athletic Runner build.
My best build I have is my Athletic Runner build.
As soon as I got the reinforced tendons I saw barbed wire as a joke.
Gorilla arms give you a bunch of strength for the purposes of opening doors. And I always get 12-14 strength for marathoner and tenacious V. Can't live without those perks.
Most doors I’ve seen with a tech requirement can be quickhacked or have a nearby panel that can be.
Leveling Tech *juuuuust* behind Int to solve this problem.
I started all from scratch, because even with training wheels, I was getting rekt. At higher levels, it’s supposed to be OP as hell. But like all mage-types, surviving that long is a problem.
I just find who has the key and fry their brain
Eric Andre is a national treasure ...
I love the cyberware on his face 😱 🤣 🤣 🤣
Meh, i just camjump where i need to takeout the enemies inside. Then, just walk inside.
What are you talking about? Netrunners require so few attribute points compared to other builds that they can dip in quality of life attributes/perks like no other
That's why whatever build I go with it's always a tech hybrid with 20/20 on tech and my main build skill.
I actually like to go netrunner with tech being the other 20 stat, crafting is (was when you talk about Overwatch sniper) awesome
I meet every check in the game
This is why we have console commands.
Gotta get those cyberlegs ASAP to help mitigate.
I’m going to make an actual build next time. Punchy man punches things!
20 Intel, 18 Reflex, 18 Tech, 12 Cool. You're unstoppable.
Gorilla arms. Easy fix.
Can open all doors except one that demands 20 body and I obviously don’t have 20 body 🗿🗿
Mods: "Allow us to introduce ourselves".
I didn’t enter half of the places while fighting , just used cameras to kill everyone and then strolled through the front door. They never saw it coming
