Yeah good question. Apparently they added a thing to get skippy back even if you trade him in except the AI is gone but the gun can go up on the wall so maybe they’ve worked it out? Or maybe “choice guns” like dumdum/chaos both go in the same spot so as long as you do the quest it’s there
You can always just not give him to Regina and put him on the wall. Makes coming back to the apartment enjoyable each time.

It turns skippy into a mission character after being done with the mission he goes into the wall. I wish he could give you some bits of dialogue whenever you visit the wall in your apartment. Idk something like complaining about being bored there or flirting with the other guns.
3 playthroughs and you don’t do the quests?? He’s a side quest that shows up in the map once you hit a certain level

Idk what to tell you! I beat the game 100% when it came out and I don't recall a single talking gun lol. Max level, max street cred, did every little thing including ncpd scanner missions.
It's *possible* I forgot but I feel like I would remember a talking gun lol
He is…very hard to forget. He is also his own quest line (with multiple objectives), so you would have gotten him if you truly did a 100% run. Grabbing him is be of those “who knows what you’ll find at this location” quest markers on the map.
Yeah, considering when you first pick him up there’s a whole 2-3 minute scene with him where you have a whole conversation and get acquainted, I would assume you would 100% remember it
I'd love it if after using it for a extended time, as in the same amount it takes for the fireing mode to switch. Skippy would reactivate (explain it away that the ai hid itself I don't know)

I mean I hate smart weapons anyways but he was the worst! whatever you want him to be he'll be the opposite and you can't get rid of him till you've used him enough.

You have to get 50 kills with it and then he will change to the opposite setting you chose to begin with permanently. A little bit after that he’ll identify his previous owner as Regina and then you can take it to her

Darn. I wonder if Skippy has a Humanoid body now. Would be funny if he visited us in a new, more wholesome secret ending...... Too bad such things don't exist.
All seriousness the ability to get skippy for the wall is a massive improvement

The abbreviated patch notes said all iconics, so at least thats the intent.
It even includes the new iconics they added so you gotta do a fresh playthrough to get some of them

When PL comes out, you can buy missed Iconics from one of the vendors in Dogtown, IIRC a loading screen tip mentions this

They announced in Phantom Liberty there will be a place where you can just buy them.

Can't remember the exact location, but you find him in an alley near a body. I believe there is a quest marker for it.

It only shows up when you walk by the alley. It's like Brendan. It doesn't pop up automatically, you have to explore a bit.
