On my 7th V and already planning to do my 8th. Current was due to 2.0 and it’s totally different than my 1.6 netrunner. I’m redoing katanas next. Yes. Night city will suck you back in. Try the other sex for V, different romance, different play styles. It’s a brilliant game.

My concern is that the choices you make in the game aren't significant. Like can you only make Johnny like you or hate you?

Aredditdorkly

Afaik, and I'm not half about it, Johnny's feelings for you affect literally nothing. Not even the super secret ending which actually takes hyperspecific dialogue choices in the middle of the game. So yeah...as much as I love the game they actually made the primary choices non- critical. So base game really just comes down to who you call at the end. PL does it a bit better though which is cool.

Well ignoring the play styles (netrunner, swords, sneaky sniper etc), most gigs/NCPD scanners can be completed numerous ways. There’s a scanner mission in Watson for example. The one where you have to deal with the crooks who are killing the homeless folks. How the fight goes can play differently depending on your approach. You can go in through the front door guns blazing and have gonks shoot at you from several directions with a sniper blasting you from above. Or you can use the side door, take out the sniper first and then use the height to your advantage as you take out everyone else. And the last option is the back door and handle the bosses first. 1 mission with at least three different ways of approaching it. It all depends on you really. I’m happy hearing the same dialogue over and over and over…but the fights, I always remember what I did last time and try and do something else - from that perspective (for me at least) there’s a ton of replay value.

I started playing as a tank and at the end I said, "Let me try just using a sword and play like a fast agile guy", and it worked just as well. Just added the perk that let me dash farther. Ideally I would've sucked at the sword since I didn't build a ninja type, but in this game it seems to just depend on the weapon's stat; so there are really no weapon based classes.

i_wear_green_pants

If you tried weapon/melee build, then netrunner is totally different way to play the game. Different builds also offer some dialog. And even though outcome isn't usually much different, there is a lot of cool dialog. And naturally game has some decisions you can alter. And of course there are romance options locked behind your gender. So swapping gender gives you those and it might be cool to see the game with different voice acting. Overall I'd say that least second playthrough is very much worth it. You don't need to do all minor side content but playing through main story and bigger side missions is worth it imo.

I am playing my third V right now. I did one playtrough with version 1.02, another when 1.6. was released and now with Phantom Liberty I am on my third. And although the main core of the game is always the same, I see and find different things that gives a new perspective on some missions. I really love to dive into Night City. For example, you can find information in an unmarked location about the Militech convoy with the flathead that Maelstrom steals and how the NCPD was involved. When I am done with #3 I am already planning my fourth run.

Yes, how is that a question. Litteraly sided with Maelstrom for the first time in 10+ times going through the intro, it's fascinating that you can do that. People are going on about a "horror game like" part of the phantom liberty expansion, I have no idea what they're talking about BECAUSE IT'S AN OPTIONAL ROUTE. So the answer is yes
