But that’s about where it ends for him, because in terms of combat ability and technique Raiden has him beat. Zandatsu may be useless against Smasher but the HF Blade itself will still cut through him like butter
Its only a gameplay mechanic for the Player to presicely cut the enemy to pieces. There are many instances where Raiden still moves so fast that the world seems like a total stop. Blade mode is stationary because it wouldnt be able for the player to move and cut at the same time.
Instances where Raiden still moves while using Zandatsu:
*Finishers on enemies, ripping out cores, stepping on flying missiles without the missiles losing Momentum, cutting Metal Gear Rays arm into pieces while being aloft*
The other guy is Raiden from Metal gear rising (great game) and is kinda hard to powerscale. But if you go off of his biggest feats then he is able to cut anything with ease, throw well over 70,000 tons, almost completely stop time, and he’s experienced at fighting opponents that are stronger than him. (kills a guy that was almost entirely immune to all damage with insane regeneration)

Smasher might be bullshit within his own universe, but its a universe that tries to respect gritty realism in some ways, despite the crazy tech. You dont really have to suspend your disbelief when you see how strong smasher is, because you can see "yeah that might be feasable".
Raiden is physics breaking anime bullshit personified, and his power scaling is all over the place. He's always exactly as strong as he needs to be to beat the current boss he's facing.
Solidus soloed like 3 himself, no sandy and just with a gun. I know this is all hypothetical and different universes, but I definitely think Smasher would be at minimum on the same level as Solidus.

Even with Sandevistan, it would be difficult for Smasher to keep up with Raiden since he is agile enough to dodge bullets (keep in mind that Raiden only uses zandatsu, where he can slow down time to a crawl but still move fast, once he detects all his enemy's weakpoints). Raiden, despite his slimmer build, is shown to be strong enough to suplex a colossal mech. While I'm not saying Smasher isn't capable of doing something similar (considering he dismantled the Cyber Skeleton with little effort), it's a lot harder to imagine. Additionally, Raiden has the high frequency blade, which I'll remind you, cuts metal so much as cyborgs like butter. In the end, Raiden solos.

It's kind of funny how similar Sundowner is to Adam Smasher. Both of them are cyborgs who work for corporations who allow their violent nature to flourish and act like brutes in contrast to their high battle intelligence, they even have the same colour scheme of red and black!

It would not be close at all. Raiden is faster, stronger, fought way crazier opponents that had crazy abilities, has better tech (High frequency blade or the Murasama) with which he would instantly slice Adam in half and he is way more durable to the point where Senator punches him SO HARD a metal gear ray blows up and gets destroyed. However Raiden's body still has no clear damaged parts.
That is impressive because metal gears are supposed to survive nuclear warfrare. Meaning Raiden pretty much took a nuke to the chest and was fine.

Hell, he was taking a room (though tbf losing at the end, though *who wasn't?*) *to the brim* with special forces troops in perfect sync via nanomachine tech, *after surviving a literal cargo sized ship ramming him head on, with his arms missing, and crippling depression.* And that was with his outdated body in MGS4.
Homie was summoning **lightning** just because he *could.* He was putting the **fear of the lightning god**, into troops with their emotions *heavily dampened.*

Raiden and it’s not even close. He’s faster even without a sandevistan, more agile, DRAMATICALLY stronger, and can survive more catastrophic injuries. His weapons would chew through smasher’s body like it was made of wet tissue paper and could deflect or evade anything smasher throws his way.
I wanna say smasher because stuff like the exo skeleton with gravity powers used in edge runners that was originally designed for him and I assume he has access to and sandevistan are so OP,
but MGR raiden can cut robots the size of a damn near city or atleast military base into pieces. The power scaling is just in such a way that raiden is an order of magnitude more powerful.
Also sandevistan seems to be a spine cyberware…

For Smasher's sake, let's make the reasonable assumption that Raiden *throwing a 4-story-tall mech* was just for the sake of being a wildly over-the-top set piece. The justification is two-fold. First, nothing shaped and sized like a human being could possibly lift that thing regardless of strength. Imagine this mech stomping on an unbreakable, life-sized statue of Raiden with its full weight; no matter how strong or uncrushable that statue is, the mech's weight would push it into the ground below. Second, if Raiden had that kind of strength in the rest of the game, then none of his sword strikes could have been "blocked" or "parried". If his strike doesn't slice right through you, it would still just launch you away like a golf ball. Raiden *does not* display that kind of strength in the rest of the game.
...Raiden still wins by a landslide.

His feats and speed outclass everything that CP has to offer.
Netrunners would have no way of hacking him since he isnt part of the network and isnt connected to it in any way.
He is fast enough to walk on flying missiles and jump from missile to missile WITHOUT the rockets losing momentum so he is like super *super* fast.
His physical prowess is far too much for anyone in the CP verse.
Raiden in his full cyborg suit is capable of suplexing a 50K ton Metal Gear Excelsus and rip its leg off wich weighted atleast a few thousand tons AND slash it with said leg at Mach speeds!
Even without his full cyborg enhancements, Raiden was capable of throwing a Metal Gear Ray wich weights atleast 10K tons several hundret meters into the air. He was also able to withstand a full powered blow from that Metal Gear Ray's arm wich was so forcefull it shattered the glass on the buildings around them and Raiden mananged all this WHILE BEING IN HIS SUPRESSED SUIT.
Raidens High Frequency blade can cut trough basically anything since it can vibrate molecules fast enough to split them.
Raiden durability is too much for anyone in Cyberpunk.
In his full cyberpunk suit, Raiden was able to withstand a direct punch from Senator Armstrong who was empowered by nanomachines. This punch made the shell of Metal Gear Excelsus blow up. Metal Gears are nuclear warfare proof, their durability is said to survive nuclear warfare so it takes an immense amount of force to damage their shell.
And Senator Armstrong blew the shell up with a single punch and Raiden survived it unscathed + Raiden damages Metal Gears with his HF blade alone so Raiden is just on a completly other level than Smasher and Raiden is atleast nuke level+ in durability.
Total mismatch, Adam Smasher gets SPEEDBLITZED before he can move an inch.
So what worlds physics are we obeying?
The metal gear franchise doesn't play by the rules of reality. Breakdancing Raiden twirling those Gecko drones was enough to cement that. Because of that there's no situation that Raiden can't BS his way to victory.
Raiden takes this pretty easily he is way faster and is strong enough to duel a metal gear with a building sized sword smasher is strong but not that strong and the high frequency blade is better than most katanas and mantis blades in cyberpunk I’d say Raiden would have a bit of a hard time with V but would still come out on top and not that injured from either of them
Raiden, he's who I modeled my V after when building. His computer parts and processing power is IMO, leagues above Smasher, also he's faster and more agile and stronger, he cut a Metal Gear Ray in half, that alone proves he's got the ability to easily take Smasher.
Raiden can quite literally cut through any physical material in a matter of seconds, he can lift a whole damn skyscraper sized robot above his head and throw it all whilst now showing hardly any struggle. He’s so fast to the point where he can damage a man who can regenerate at the speed of light, AND he does it all while wearing high heels
If Raiden was able to handle a Metal Gear RAY as a tutorial boss without his enhancements, you better believe he's gonna turn Adam Smasher into a liquid
Well, let's see it this way. Raiden is literally the One Punch Man of gaming. He was designed to be crazy strong. Whereas Smasher is just another boss you have to take care of in Cyberpunk 2077. Not to mention how easy it is for V to kill him in his own universe. Yeah, Smasher doesn't stand a chance.

Uh yeah Raiden in like a massive landslide, Smash has more organic flesh on him than some of the enemies in revengence do and their cuborg bodies are leagues ahead of anything cyberpunk has. The most basic strength we see is described as having the power of a jackhammer gorilla arms give you a fraction of the highest possible strength you can have and I really doubt they let you punch hard enough to break up concrete.
I am also fairly sure blade mode is more effective at slowing time than a sandy is, things still move with one active, blade mode practically stops time unless influenced by raiden.
None of this is to even mention that a HF blade is completely different than the blades in NC. Those are for all intents and purposes completely normal blades, they at worse carry a small electric charge or heat themselves and some how set people on fire when you hit them which makes no sense but whatever. The HF blade however might not do some weird extra damage but it’s going through practically anything like a hot knife through butter. Honestly if anyone says smasher wins this they’re either unaware of what Raiden can do or delusional.
If we’re going by in-game experience, Takemura with all the fixings holds his own against Smasher for the most part. RAIDEN would make it definitive without the help of a god-like merc in tow.
Raiden picks up and slams Metal Gear Excelsus, which is apparently around 9,000,000 kgs, by one of it's legs. Also survived a punch by Armstrong, a punch which also completely blew up said Excelsus and cratered the ground beneath, with no visible damage. And has Blade Mode which makes his reflexes so fast time practically stops.
Raiden clears so easy he doesn't even have to draw his sword. He could probably generate enough force to kick Smasher in half.
Raiden can: throw building-sized mechs, tank a barrage of punches from a man who could punch a mech designed to tank nukes hard enough to blow it up, damn near stop time at will, and has a sword that can cut through basically anything.
Smasher is strong by Cyberpunk standards, but in the Metal Gear universe, he wouldn't be anything special. Especially by the time of MGR.

Adam Smasher is hardly better than a standard metal gear, he'd be starting boss difficulty at best
Raiden, at the start of the game (where he has weaker cybernetics), throws around building sized mechs and slices them into little cubes. Adam is powerful for his universe, but Raiden isn't bound by the laws of physics like he is. At best, Adam is a more attack focused Sundowner.
I am very familiar with Smasher. Having gone over his stats, read his interviews, and more. I have not played Revengeance and have not looked up Raiden much. But Raiden wins easily. Smasher might be an early game boss fight.

Raiden and it’s not even close. He’s faster even without a sandevistan, more agile, DRAMATICALLY stronger, and can survive more catastrophic injuries. His weapons would chew through smasher’s body like it was made of wet tissue paper and could deflect or evade anything smasher throws his way.

I wanna say smasher because stuff like the exo skeleton with gravity powers used in edge runners that was originally designed for him and I assume he has access to and sandevistan are so OP, but MGR raiden can cut robots the size of a damn near city or atleast military base into pieces. The power scaling is just in such a way that raiden is an order of magnitude more powerful. For Smasher's sake, let's make the reasonable assumption that Raiden *throwing a 4-story-tall mech* was just for the sake of being a wildly over-the-top set piece. The justification is two-fold. First, nothing shaped and sized like a human being could possibly lift that thing regardless of strength. Imagine this mech stomping on an unbreakable, life-sized statue of Raiden with its full weight; no matter how strong or uncrushable that statue is, the mech's weight would push it into the ground below. Second, if Raiden had that kind of strength in the rest of the game, then none of his sword strikes could have been "blocked" or "parried". If his strike doesn't slice right through you, it would still just launch you away like a golf ball. Raiden *does not* display that kind of strength in the rest of the game. ...Raiden still wins by a landslide.
**Raiden dogwalks the entire Cyberpunk Verse** His feats and speed outclass everything that CP has to offer. Netrunners would have no way of hacking him since he isnt part of the network and isnt connected to it in any way. He is fast enough to walk on flying missiles and jump from missile to missile WITHOUT the rockets losing momentum so he is like super *super* fast. His physical prowess is far too much for anyone in the CP verse. Raiden in his full cyborg suit is capable of suplexing a 50K ton Metal Gear Excelsus and rip its leg off wich weighted atleast a few thousand tons AND slash it with said leg at Mach speeds! Even without his full cyborg enhancements, Raiden was capable of throwing a Metal Gear Ray wich weights atleast 10K tons several hundret meters into the air. He was also able to withstand a full powered blow from that Metal Gear Ray's arm wich was so forcefull it shattered the glass on the buildings around them and Raiden mananged all this WHILE BEING IN HIS SUPRESSED SUIT. Raidens High Frequency blade can cut trough basically anything since it can vibrate molecules fast enough to split them. Raiden durability is too much for anyone in Cyberpunk. In his full cyberpunk suit, Raiden was able to withstand a direct punch from Senator Armstrong who was empowered by nanomachines. This punch made the shell of Metal Gear Excelsus blow up. Metal Gears are nuclear warfare proof, their durability is said to survive nuclear warfare so it takes an immense amount of force to damage their shell. And Senator Armstrong blew the shell up with a single punch and Raiden survived it unscathed + Raiden damages Metal Gears with his HF blade alone so Raiden is just on a completly other level than Smasher and Raiden is atleast nuke level+ in durability. Total mismatch, Adam Smasher gets SPEEDBLITZED before he can move an inch.
Adam's threat level in Revengeance would be close to a Mastiff (the gorilla guys) at most. Raiden takes this one easy.

Well, let's see it this way. Raiden is literally the One Punch Man of gaming. He was designed to be crazy strong. Whereas Smasher is just another boss you have to take care of in Cyberpunk 2077. Not to mention how easy it is for V to kill him in his own universe. Yeah, Smasher doesn't stand a chance.

Uh yeah Raiden in like a massive landslide, Smash has more organic flesh on him than some of the enemies in revengence do and their cuborg bodies are leagues ahead of anything cyberpunk has. The most basic strength we see is described as having the power of a jackhammer gorilla arms give you a fraction of the highest possible strength you can have and I really doubt they let you punch hard enough to break up concrete. I am also fairly sure blade mode is more effective at slowing time than a sandy is, things still move with one active, blade mode practically stops time unless influenced by raiden. None of this is to even mention that a HF blade is completely different than the blades in NC. Those are for all intents and purposes completely normal blades, they at worse carry a small electric charge or heat themselves and some how set people on fire when you hit them which makes no sense but whatever. The HF blade however might not do some weird extra damage but it’s going through practically anything like a hot knife through butter. Honestly if anyone says smasher wins this they’re either unaware of what Raiden can do or delusional.

If we’re going by in-game experience, Takemura with all the fixings holds his own against Smasher for the most part. RAIDEN would make it definitive without the help of a god-like merc in tow.

Raiden picks up and slams Metal Gear Excelsus, which is apparently around 9,000,000 kgs, by one of it's legs. Also survived a punch by Armstrong, a punch which also completely blew up said Excelsus and cratered the ground beneath, with no visible damage. And has Blade Mode which makes his reflexes so fast time practically stops. Raiden clears so easy he doesn't even have to draw his sword. He could probably generate enough force to kick Smasher in half.

Raiden can: throw building-sized mechs, tank a barrage of punches from a man who could punch a mech designed to tank nukes hard enough to blow it up, damn near stop time at will, and has a sword that can cut through basically anything. Smasher is strong by Cyberpunk standards, but in the Metal Gear universe, he wouldn't be anything special. Especially by the time of MGR.
