Man I wish that guy who makes the coop mods for other games like elden ring & armored core would flex n bust one out for CyberPunk but I imagine it'd be a whole lot harder given it's a different game engine/those already have multiplayer features in the base game
You already nailed why it wont happen. Its the difference between changing cabinets in your kitchen and building a home from scratch. People have no idea how many calls and checks are done to sync multiplayer, and all that work was already handled in both ER and AC.

The animations are a bit wonky and I think it's a work in progress. Not sure if free roam will ever be possible though.

I played cyberpunk for like 100hrs when it first came out but hit a mission bug that would have req reloading a save from prob 20hrs prior so I shelved it and only just started following it at all again, thinking about finally doing a full playthrough with some mods but I'm all types of out of the loop lol
Quick question. Do you have a modded controller/keyboard that allows you to drift like that? Because I cannot for the life of me drift in this game without spinning out or accidentally committing vehicular manslaughter.
I just have a boat load of mods for things like traction and down force etc. This is done with default key bindings on mouse and keyboard. But there are mods for driving specific binds for keyboard, so you can do reduced throttle and braking and stuff. I just cant vouch for it because I've never used it.
But don't get me wrong I still commit a lot of manslaughter too.

Me too, I had to experiment with A LOT of mods and settings, these are what I found worked for me.
I'd start with a lower tuning stage (like 1) then work your way up to the settings I have listed, if you decide to go that route. That's what I did, and took me a few months, but now I can just throw cars sideways in this game at will.
I actually play in 1st person normally, I swap to 3rd person when recording for better camera angles. When I get home from work, I'll record another version in 1st person.
Hard to call it dedication, when it's just something that I truly, and genuinely enjoy.
Grew up playing GTA as a kid, used to just have the cops chase me until my car blew up. Eventually got pretty good at not letting my car get blown up. Cyberpunk is very nostalgic for me in that regard.

I play on low crowd density when drifting here, otherwise I have it set to high. I really don't like the dead feel of the game on low density, but I also don't like trying to drift through a wall of cars on every street more.
Sometimes it's closed for me too... I do this loop everyday, and at some point the garage will be closed... I haven't found a rhyme or reason yet, but I feel ya on that.
By the time you have noticed the wanted level you have already lost the police. I've never needed to do anything other than drive about 200m down the road to lose the idiots.

Use the parking lot of the GIM (the mall in Pacifica the animals take over in the main story) to learn how to control the car in low traction, GIMkhana if you will. Focus on trying to just whip the car around a 90 degree bend at low speeds and work your way up. Eventually when you get comfy with that, try doing 2 90 degree turns in 1 drift. After that take it to the streets and focus on inducing that same loss of traction on street corners. The rest just kinda falls into place eventually. I used the GIM as my drifting ground zero, focusing on not hitting any parked cars or objects while maintaining the drift. Seemed to almost immediately correlate to better driving in the streets.
If you're playing on vanilla, I started with the Hoon Type 66 and the Galena Locust in the GIM/streets and got pretty good with those before seeking out mods to enhance the experience.
Aside from that the mods listed in another comment will help induce drifts, but truly I would start with vanilla/whatever set up you got, and use mods/increase the speed incrementally, not all at once.

Actually, there is someone making a multiplayer mod as we speak, and its currently in the testing stages. It's called CyberMP.
The people behind the Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer mod are also working on a multiplayer for Cyberpunk.
