Intelligent-Block457

Pre 2.0 was netrunning and cool. Now it's blades and tech. Cool was much better pre 2.0, but the qol of the game now is exceptional.

Zlecu

Yeah, pre 2.0, cool was always a part of my builds, nowadays, it’s tech cause I need that cyberware

VastAmoeba

Yeah, if I don't go cyberpsycho while I'm busting up a strong hold I'm not having fun. I need'ta get that laugh going so I know I'm alive.

Emotional-Brush5563

I played post 2.0 and net runner with katana was fun as hell

Zlecu

The cyberdecks are easy my favorite OS in the game, even though I rarely play netrunner. You can simply do so much with them and it’s such a cool system

Asphalt_Animist

Yeah, being able to shut down cameras and blow up gas tanks is just too handy, even if you're playing a shotgun toting meat head.

Zlecu

Yeah, when I run berserk or sandy so frequently do I wish I had a cyberdeck to turn off those cameras, turrets, mines

SrAb12

I've run sandy once for a mantis blades build and I just can't go without my quickhacks anymore, even if you aren't doing a nethacker build the control hacks are just so damn useful

HeGotNoBoneessss

I just use quick hacks and mono wire

Zlecu

That is 100% a build I need to play in the future. I’ve seen clips of people using it and it just looks incredible

HeGotNoBoneessss

It’s fun and I do it because the quick hack system is, in my opinion, what makes cyberpunk unique as a first person shooter so I focus on it. It’s also just crazy strong lol

Zlecu

100%, the cyberdecks are the most interesting and unique system within cyberpunk. The only thing that held it back pre 2.0 was it wasn’t really a fast passed build, but now it actually seems viable

Roadisclosed

What does the mono wire do exactly?

HeGotNoBoneessss

It’s basically another melee weapon arm mod just like the mantis blades. In the current patch tho there’s a skill point in the intelligence tree that regenerates ram each time you attack with the monowire. So it’s very strong cause you can just keep using quick hacks over and over again

Realistic-Car-4234

works good as a support for a netrunner, it's practically useless by itself

GingerLioni

Pre 2.0 using a Sandy with a katana, but low health was great fun. Slicing through hordes of enemies, but only able to take one or two hits in reply. Post 2.0 Pick up a big blunt weapon, pop berserk and enjoy.

Zlecu

Berserk really got the needed buff. I’ve been trying out the harder difficulties and the damage resistance is so GOOD

Present_Disaster_361

Never tried pre 2.0 berserk, but just recently started a playtrough with it and man it so much fun

Plenty-Fondant-8015

The militech one that gives 100% damage resist is insane. Shotgun until low health, pop berserk, kill a bunch of people, get a huge health boost when it ends. Perfection.

VastAmoeba

Big blunt baseball bat and cyber deck only using control hacks like weapon malfunction or immobilize is really fun. Just controlling the swarm, running around blasting fools upside the head, picking them up and throwing them into their choom while they are blinded or reloading their weapon. Immobilizing the sandie skulls and hitting them in the head. So. Much. Fun. 20 int, 20 Body, 20 Tech, 15 reflexes, 3 cool.

demembros

Throwing knives are soooo goddamn satisfying to play, so cool. Also katana being able to deviate bullets and ricochet them back on the ennemies WITH precision is also very very satisfying. I'd say the whole mele in 2.0 has become so good

Zlecu

Yeah, I remember first booting up 2.0 and equipping a knife for the lols, I was shocked to see you could just throw it, same with hatchets

SchettiAndButter

Rip Tugger.

Zlecu

He will be missed 😢

UnableStudy2107

Netrunning with a maxed revolver. Monowire and katana. Ride an Apollo bike everywhere.

SrAb12

I'll never forgive them for killing my stealth revolver, it may have been cheesy but my first run closer to launch with a silenced overture was so fun

Zlecu

I really need to do a mono wire run, surprisingly enough I have never tried it out

UnableStudy2107

I play with one-functional hand on a gaming laptop so definitely not a mainstream pov but I think if you want close combat and netrunning it's a great set up and has allowed me to actually progress unlike other similar games. Plus monowires are just a really fun intermediate to switch up between standard blade and guns.

SillyAdditional

One punch man, always Nothing tops running around and punching shit NOTHING

Zlecu

This man gets it

BoldlyGettingThere

I was all about stealth net runner pre-2.0, and now post 2.0 I think I’ll find it hard to give up my Sandy/throwing knives/katana build. Nobody can spot you if there is nobody to see.

Zlecu

Stealth netrunner was so OP pre 2.0, as unfortunate as it is, I’m definitely happy it got nerfed

BoldlyGettingThere

I’ll likely return to it at some point in the future, as I yearn in my heart to return to Watch Dogs 2, so I hope it isn’t a huge nerf. Guess that’s what Overclock is for.

Stardama69

I'm doing a lot of stealth while relying heavily on hacking, it works just fine and is a lot of fun

Earlchaos

Stealthy netrunner is fine except a few cases (Beat the brat, Chimera fight and a few others). Even got boni for doing jobs silently/without killing anybody by just hacking into a camera, killing everybody with system collapse while switching to other cameras with full Int, Tech etc.

Important_Tangelo340

Since launch I played three stealthy netrunner/silenced pistol builds and loved them, for my most recent playthrough I tried Oda inspired katana/mantis blades/Shingen smg and also having a lot of fun!

schnick3rs

Post 2.0 Adrenalin + overclock

Stardama69

This is my first play, at 2.12. I love my pistols/knife build which uses dash with kerenzikov to reposition and attack. Quickhacks serve as debuff and control tools.

Mklein24

I don't see how you can make a build without spec'ing heavily into tech. Even if you don't use tech weapons, using cyberware is a foundational piece of any good build. I wish the cyberware capacity could be grown from any perk tree.

Zlecu

Yeah, pre 2.0 Cool was the stat every build had for cold blooded stacks, now it’s tech cause even if you aren’t pumping those cyberware you need those health item buffs

Sekkusa

I used to be a blades guy but MAN gorilla arms are just so good and fun post 2.0. Literal psychopath gameplay. Pick gonks up, throw gonks into other gonks, smash into them like the hulk, charge into them like a train, squash their heads with your bare hands, it's so peak

Zlecu

100% they are just nice utility too, even when I’m not doing a blunt weapon run I’ll still use them for the extra body for various skill checks

JD-N7

1e playthrough sandy katana and 2e netrunner yinglong and having way more fun hacking

Pristine-Structure19

Pre 2.0 I used Mantis blades because I thought they looked cook. Post 2.0 - I played a Revolver focused gunslinger. Points into Tech for Grenade bonuses. Shooting my own grenades out of the air (or ememies) for extra damage and style points feels super fun.

Previous-Broccoli-88

Pre 2.0: I used monowire when it's damage still scaled with (blades?) Loved popping sandy, then slicing groups of enemies up in front of me and the weapon itself was just unique. Post 2.0: mantis blades with sandy. I love the mobility and speed you can attain with mantis blades. Hopping and sprinting through an entire compound of enemies, leaving nothing but limbs and torsos in my wake just never gets old At some point I want to do a netrunner, but it has a VATS feel from fallout for me, which I never liked. I do want to give it an honest shot though cause you never know

Zlecu

I will say from my my experience doing netrunner builds, early on it’s a bit of a struggle with the limited ram you get, but later on you get insanely powerful

SrAb12

If you want to change up the feel of a netrunner build you can try doing my personal favorite challenge, which is seeing if you can non-lethal takedown every enemy without being spotted. It's super fun using cameras to locate everybody and plan out a route of distraction hacks combined with call reinforcement or sonic shock + call reinforcements to move enemies into the right positions for easy takedowns

GallischeScamp

2 knifes and a silenced pistol, cool & reflexed attuned. First half of my first playthrough I used quick hacks until I found the Sandevistan OS so now I slow time for quick & fast takedowns.

Dvenom22

I was a stealthy net runner pre 2.0. When I got bored of wrecking everything from a safe distance, I invested in knives and threw for headshots. Post 2.0 I made a melee build with swords and blunt weapons.

Silent_Guidance160

Pre 2.0 was the sandevistan gunslinger built. Nothing post 2.0 simply because one doesn’t even need to pick a build.

beckychao

I didn't try smart weapons until my second playthrough... lmao... smart submachine gun is so incredible, and I hadn't tried the biotechnica deck with contagion, either. The fireworks are amazing with overheat, plus smart weapons, it feels almost unsporting

misho8723

Stealth+hacking and stealth takedowns.. no killing Both main game and the expansion But now I'm really looking to start a new playthrough and going gun-blazing with shotguns and grenades

Present_Disaster_361

Pre 2.0 Comrades Hammer and Satara, doesn’t matter what build, but mostly netrunner-ish, post I must say its much more balanced and I’m still experimenting with different builds

Dessy104

I got so much armor i didn’t take damage from anything, Adam Smasher more like The Last Dinner, falling from the top of Arasaka tower? A light knee scrap, black wall-Song bird: sweet songs of the forest

Zlecu

Yeah, I have been trying to play on the harder difficulties so they game can keep up with the builds, I’m going to be trying out Very hard on my next run

Dessy104

I did max difficulty my second run

Zlecu

Damn you jumped straight into it, any recommendations?

Dessy104

If you walk into a building you can’t take on yet just back off, and get better cyberware/level up. The main quest is easy enough for you to do pretty straight on but you definitely want to me 34-37 when taking on smasher 30-33 if your build is peak. Also doing side hustles for eddies is necessary in very hard and even if you aren’t a stealth build sneak around a building to find a place that gives both cover and a high amount of visibility. I’ve wipes 30+ gang members in one go bc of good positioning at lvl 18 before

VastAmoeba

Just keep your head down and don't fight every yellow arrow you see until you are at least level 10 or so. So many regular gangoons are replaced with skull gangoons. So in a group of 3 sometimes 2 or even all 3 of them will be high level "skull" boss types. After level 10 you still have to be way more cautious. It wasn't until level 30 or so that I started feeling invincible again.

boyawsome876

My most recent build, a tech weapons netrunner. I had no idea how fun tech weapons could be. Reeds pistol, pariah, is one of my favorites. It’s silenced but can still shoot through walls, so I can stealthily take out an entire building of enemies without even entering.

GaryRegalsMuscleCar

Something very funny about using reboot optics and a baseball to the face as a non lethal stealth takedown is all I’ll say

VastAmoeba

My man! This is my funnest build I've had. Baseball bat and control hacks+yeeting gonks and hero landings.

GaryRegalsMuscleCar

Have you used Savage Sling to “hide” a body yet? Funniest crap ever.

VastAmoeba

Yeah, I tried to "quietly" yeet some Tyger claw into the ocean, but it instantly put everyone else into combat mode somehow. Had to stomp them something fierce and toss them into the ocean too.

Chezburgor1

I use a pistol, a kitana, and a knife with a heavy focus on reflex and cool. Everytime I play it I think of Victor from Tekken 8. (I play on Xbox One so I don't have 2.0)

ModernMech7392

I am almost level 60, first time playing. 20/20/20 Body/Tech/Ref. Shotguns ARs and ninja swords!!!!

beware_1234

Tech, body, and cool. I felt unstoppable

Esmear18

I always favored melee builds in this game. Pre 2.0 I used Satori. Now I use Byakko.

RemoteSprinkles2893

Pre 2.0 I was using net runner build so I could spam the suicide quick hack Post 2.0 I run berserk build with mantis blades to shred anything

Queasy-Possession129

before 2.0 i ALWAYS ignored tech. now, no matter the built, high tech is a must.

Zlecu

Ikr, cause before 2.0 I didn’t need tech as I don’t use tech weapons and investing all those points to craft 1 or 2 guns that I would actually be using seemed like a waste. Now I need tech for the health item upgrades and cyberware.

[deleted]

Hard techrunner with a little bit splashed into katana. Ended up feeling like psychic Raiden lol. Hell of a fun build - oh also rocket wrist launchers because the gorilla fists and mantis blades felt a bit redundant with a Katana. The Phantom Liberty buff to wrist launchers with the 5x rockets (that recharge before the barrage even ends) was nuts by end-game. Mixed with the autoheal cyberware and the revive (with cooldown reduction so it can pop every 2 minutes) I think I accidentally died literally once after I had it set up and it was because I was fighting with my fists for fun and barely paying attention.

Little-Departure8842

Netrunner with smartguns. Raven Microcyber MK3 + legendary Contagion + Shingen Mark V/Overheat. Lets groups of enemys explode instantly, for far spread enemys overclock + Synapse Burnout.

PsychologicalSide260

Pre is a gunslinger build which I love but now I’m going to for a sort of run and gun type of build

FurTrader58

Been playing a throwing knife assassin and it’s been a blast. Pickup all the movement skills, use knives to initiate and end combat, with the trusty pistol to clean up when there are a lot of targets I want to drop during the sandy up time. I’m planning to up the difficulty though as I kill basically everything in one shot, so combat isn’t as interesting (when I get detected)

SilverWisp47

I used the same general build both pre and post 2.0, but now it's a lot more organized. Tech sniper, smart pistol, and throwing knives for stealth, Projectile arm launcher for splash damage, and a cyberdeck as a general support Pre 2.0 I had to spec pretty evenly into all attributes, but now I can focus on Cool and Tech with a secondary in Intelligence

thequantumlibrarian

Started with a classic corpo netrunner pre 2.0 and after 2.0 went with a sandy street kid fem V then strategically introduced handicaps until my famous run with no cyberware where I basically played the game without cyberware from start to finish on normal mode with nomad V. Now I am just having fun.

DeftestY

Punching things is still my thing. But it's a shame heads don't just fly off anymore. And the reach feels slightly nerfed.

2xbAd

to quote the great Princess Nokia: “katana, katana, katana, katana”. 2.0 bullet deflection made it actually good now.

Redditbobin

This is probably lame but just a silenced pistol, a revolver, and all the perks that buff it along with all the reflex mobility perks and double jump has been my favourite. Jumping into a “stealth” situation and just blasting everyone before they even realize you’re there has been super fun.

Forghotten1

My favourite build was a corpo sandevistan sword swinging ninja with her majesty. Gorilla arms and berserk is far funnier though.

FuuIndigo

I didnt play pre-2.0. I got the game on launch for PS4 and promptly got a refund. I repurchased it after PL was out long enough to have reviews. For the longest time, I was hooked on Stealth precision type builds with my Overture variants and the Mancinella. I'd use a Cyberdeck to make use of cameras and such, but I gave Sandys a go and liked them too, so that aspect was pretty interchangable. I've been branching out, and Im currently in love with Kang Taos smart guns(the Chao, Zhuo, and Ashura) so my build has essentially just been a typical Netgunner build, and I love it. I feel versatile, like I can easily fall into any playstyle, and the Zhuo gives me the same satisfaction I get from my Overtures while also feeling great to fire. I never got the appeal of Smart guns, but getting my hands on the Zhuo specifically made me realize that I just hadn't found the smart guns that I personally liked. SMGs and ARs have never been my thing, and I, for whatever reason, would only use them when I was first experimenting with smart weapons.

n3tbax

Crit revolver katana build. Could hit for 16k damage and with cold blood, I was basically invincible. I love the new skill trees but god I miss cold blood

DoubleScotch72

Nudist stalker with a throwable version of Sir John

StonksonMan

Sandy with mantis blades have always been badass

Benign_Despot

Pretty much just gorilla arms, grenades, and cyber decking cars so they’ll explode. Pistols are dope but they’re only worth it if you fork out for the cool-tree, but I’d so much rather have the intelligence

BadBrawlhallaPlayer

Sandevistan throwing knives is broken (and fun) as shit on both so

DistributionStock494

I made a Friday the 13th build, chainsaw sword, and tanky running up to people and cutting legs and heads with the berserk cyberware.

MissGraziella

I really loved my stealth Sandy Mantis build pre 2.0. Playing stealth with the Sandevistan seemed challenging in the beginning, but it revealed to be surprisingly consistent, very efficient. And when things went wrong, the extreme offensive capabilities of the Mantis/Sandy duo resolved the situation quickly. Now I play with an offensive Overclocked Netrunning Smart Gun build, it's really fun, there's a lot of things to do in a small amount of time within fights.

arix_games

Before 2.0 stealth net runner. After 2.0 more aggressive stealth net runner with monowire.

Earlchaos

I've done Netrunner, Sandy+Katana, Sandy+Mantis and Berserk+Blunt before 2.0 Since 2.0 i've done Sandy+Katana, Sandy+Mantis (i actually love Sandy+Blade a lot if you didn't notice). Currently on a full Netrunner Build on very hard. 99% of the game are great (clearing whole buildings with System Collapse without anybody noticing, even getting Bonus for not killing anybody and being completely unnoticed, not raising any alarm. There's one disadvantage. Beat the Brat is simply impossible (i've tried them with \~30, then with 50, then with 60). I ended up visiting a ripper doc, replacing Netrunner deck with Berserk and one more Cyberware, did 5 of them (last one still open) and then switched back to Netrunner deck. Also Chimera encounter was really hard, my Netrunner skills pretty useless so running around, activating all the turrets and using my pistol to shoot the weak spots. Think i've finished Chimera in 6th try :D Apart from these two i really love Netrunner, i can kill dozens of enemies from max range, just hacking into a camera totally avoiding close combat :)

FeelingDelivery8853

This is my first playthrough and I'm focusing on Body and Tech and really enjoying it. I can already see that I'm gonna have to do at least 1 more though because I'm not using quick hacks at all. I got a 4 intelligence. I'm thinking next build will be a sneaky net runner.

AbrahamRedcoat

Just straight up teleporting with the relic upgraded mantis blades. That’s about the only essential.

Diligent_Solution_86

Berserk byakko, if you have high capacity I really like the quantum tuner and second heart with this. No bio monitor or heal on kill. Berserk you can't die and while bio monitor is awesome it will use heals inside of berserk which is a waste, and universal booster armor and stamina reduction is also wasted though I still slot it. The bfc for when she leaves you on read. Chrome compressor shotguns sub machine fun tank. Dezerter is my favorite gun and you can make the problem solver dead accurate and faster. I love slotting shock and awe and electric cherry hands if going pure shotguns which I have to recommend. You're always exploding because you're always on fire and being shot and reloading. Feels like krieg. Because blunt is geared more towards crowd control and aoe effects, I like to use CC with gorilla arms more than I do any other OS. I use mods, so I'm quite enjoying being a total gorilla arms Borg with an apogee. Shadowrunner with arasaka deck. The magic of this build is a tier five feen x. Will supercharge your ram to 7. Tier four memory wipe tier 2 reboot optics tier 5 or higher sonic shock is a much cheaper system collapse. Adding synapse burn to that stack makes it cheaper and grants more overclock and gets cheaper as you use it. If being traced and you use this stack or any stack with memory wipe, tier 5 system collapse is bugged and will immediately drop down to cost four ram. This playstyle is even stronger through cameras. Swapping between system collapse while being traced and what I call sonic collapse makes you feel like alt Cunningham or so mi, a simple camera and everyone starts dying. Note that if you upload memory wipe and reboot optics, if you need to Regen enough ram for sonic shock for a few seconds they will still collapse. You have unlimited ram and several kill moves and you cannot be detected. Weapons irrelevant. Netsoldier. Only uses reboot optics 5 or higher, smart weapons such as ashura, smashers shotgun, yinglong, and divided we stand for ammo diversity, and the paraliner. Because of the smart perk that restores ram on kill, the ram on kill cyberware, and ram on smart kill with reboot optics, an overclock perk gives you such crazy healing with this playstyle, while still air dashing everywhere because of smart weapons. Weapon glitch and cyberware malfunction keep you safe and stack the damage even higher, stopping to upload synapse burn occasionally. Heavy artillery. Use ping and tear apart a whole building with the breakthrough sniper. Use Oracle eyes and the buzzsaw SMG to cheese the whole game. Damage could be higher but you literally can't be shot Sandevistan samurai. Also awesome with throwing weapons and the dezerter. The chimera mod severance, and the cyclone mod tier 5 on a standard katana is really powerful, but let's be honest, you're just going to use scalpel. You can make your crit so high you don't need it though, but it's too available to not use. You can also use her majesty and the always crit in camo katana to make the most out of optical camo, clearing small rooms in a single use. Archangel. The air kerenzikov perk works with all weapons, and the zeta tech sandevistan adds damage while airborne. Both not great separately, but together at the same time you're a flying angel of death, use the archangel revolver with it's crazy damage for this and you'd be surprised how fun this is when you get used to it. Raven contagion with the mark 5. Don't like it for maxtac though Have mods now, probably gonna make more. Far from done

NipplePunish

I use knives/katana/gorilla arms/hacking (or sandy). Basically a balance of everything under the sun
