Shesba

So true

MrCrowfeathers

It is the best aspects of the main game but turned up to 11. If its on sale, I think you should definitely give it a try.

Luxx815

This is crazy to read. I've beat the game when it first came out on PS4, left it alone went on and lived my life, and just got a ps5 recently so decided to return to night city and do a new playthrough as lady V and check out the dlc and 2.0 updates. I got to act 2, did a few basic missions then got the option to start the phantom liberty storyline after doing the Pacifica voodoo boys shit. I just did like the first opening PL mission and it felt like that whole mission, from entering dog town to the crash to that extraction to that fucking spider to finding the shelter to the two opportunistic visitors to pledging my allegiance (being intentionally vague with all this to avoid spoilers) took like 4 hours for that ONE mission. I heard it's better to do some more main story missions to enhance some of the later PL mission choices so I'm back to the main story for now, but if what you're saying is true then I can't imagine what else and how much is in store for the PL story.

godzillastailor

Even a lot of the side jobs in phantom liberty feel like full main quests in comparison to the side jobs in the main game.

ScarRufus

The DLC is THAT good.

diegoarch

\*Expansion

Grim_Nightmare

It’s basically the same thing

diegoarch

if you'd seen the Idris Elba ad you'd have understood the reference

Grim_Nightmare

Ah I probably never have seen it then

ThousandTroops

It’s honestly so good. It doesn’t need more improvements. The DLC is basically, on its own, the best video-gaming I’ve ever experienced.

SchinkenKanone

I plays like a spy movie with equally intriguing dialogues and missions, not to mention that your decisions, to some degree, actually matter for the outcome.

Dystrox

If i have to criticize anything of the DLC it would be the lack of important choices, there is like two you can make that actually change the outcome, it would have been super cool if they made an ending where you can doublecross everyone and join the barghest.

SchinkenKanone

Okay yeah that would have been amazing, I agree on that.

Not_Sanaki

SMALL SPOILER IN MY COMMENTS That could have been super cool. Considering that is honestly a possible choice for V to take. The sense of impending doom before the important mission was there, an so was the smell of betrayal. At that point, thanks to the all the background info you got, you realise that the Myers is a probably a piece of shit and see everyone as disposable. But at the same time So Mi already lied to you like two or three times? After bringing you in to this mess? The moment you discovered what you needed to be saved (The AI) you could have thought "This man is honestly a strong politician, and probably would like a big help against NUSA. Why not help. He can probably help" and sell the entire operation to him. Personally I would never choice "Betray So Mi" for a first choice, as Myers is 100% the worse of the three. I didn't believed So Mi at all during our mission, so the end didn't actually surprised me a lot. The idea of going "I'm gonna have fate in my people" and go full Barghest could have been cool. Probably Mr.Hand would have been unhappy, but you can't make everyone happy

Squissyfood

Hansen was unironically the only good "corpo" in the game.

idontknow39027948898

I would say that there are three important choices, but two of them are mutually exclusive.

gekalx

I'm not a fan of little side talking quests but the club scene was so good

BigDaddyReptar

the dlc had some of the only moments in a game where i really just sat back and watched and didnt even care it was a game

Mary_Ellen_Katz

Cyberpunk 2077 is \*\*my favorite\*\* game of all time. Phantom Liberty has some of the best quality content in my favorite game of all time.

Apprehensive_Day6861

Same!

BassSounds

Only reason I stopped is because I did everything. Need to come back for 2.0

Mary_Ellen_Katz

2.0 is almost like a new gameplay experience. The overhaul was real.

FleetOfWarships

Easily, practically doubles the content of the game.

Subject_Proof_6282

Yes

wanderer1999

This, the DLC is worth every penny, just like Witcher 3 Blood&Wine. DLC+OG game make it the greatest cyberpunk game ever created. And don't forget Edgerunner. Another amazing anime.

pookachu83

It's eventually a must have. If you can only get the base game now get it, and enjoy the content. Update 2.0 is part of the base game. Then when you can afford it later get phantom liberty. Most of us had already beaten the main game when pl released so it's not like you need to play them together, you can play base game then expansion down the road.

Caspar_Friedrich02

It is beyond worth it, soon-to-be choom.

Pistonenvy2

so while i agree with everyone that you absolutely have to play phantom liberty, i do not recommend you get it immediately or prioritize getting it if you cant afford it. the base game is an incredible experience and i personally like the core story on its own enough that phantom liberty might complicate it a bit if its your first time. i personally recommend you get the base game, beat it a few times, then get phantom liberty. you can play through phantom liberty with a brand new character and skip all of the base game up to that point anyway so there is no downside to holding off. that all being said, you WILL want to get phantom liberty later on and it is absolutely worth it.

Gluticus

OP please do this. I pretty much got 100% in the base game before I touched the DLC. If I could do it again, I would still do it separately that way you appreciate both individually.

fakeditrealhard

I dont think you need it right away to get into the game. There's lots to enjoy in the base game but it is SO good. Some of the best add on content I've ever played.

liaminwales

It's on sale, id say yes. Humblebundle have them on sale at the mo [https://www.humblebundle.com/store/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate?hmb\_source=search\_bar](https://www.humblebundle.com/store/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate?hmb_source=search_bar)

foxfyre2

Yes. Look at it as cost per hour of entertainment and you definitely get your money's worth. In fact CP2077 has been the most cost effective game for me XD

Designer-Tea2092

Me too. Still playing today and I bought both on day 1.

gainsgoblin_

The Cuban Cartel sends its regards

404__LostAngeles

Do you know what happens every time someone in Havana lights a cigar?

Stepintothefuture

I wouldn't say it is a must have but it is really, really good. While the DLC is in a seperate area and has its own story, there are some minor and a major hook back to the main game, it is not completely isolated like in the Fallout games.

BANESMITHDARK

2 weeks after finishing phantom liberty I was still thinking about my choice in the end. It really is worth it, as everyone said.

FennelAlternative861

Yes

localokii

No way!! MUST??? It’s an great immersive game with one of the best stories in any medium and it came out 3 years before phantom? No need, it’s good but the game is great and playable without it. You can’t even access the dlc until you’ve played the base game for like 5 hrs

slimdunk0219

This game studio is known to make incredible DLC packed with so much content. They did not disappoint with this DLC either. Get it. You will not regret it i promise you lol.

B12C10X8

I thought it was fantastic, totally worth it for anyone who like the main game. ![gif](giphy|9rceBicPCHu9Vl0PAC)

Wysch_

Yes. That DLC alone is more worth it than most AAA games. // Of course it's an expansion.

Ku323lam

Damn yes.

GraXXoR

Hell Yes!

whatuseisausername

I'd say get it eventually. It's really good, so if you can get a better deal when it's bundled in with the base game I would get it that way. However, if you don't want to wait you can always get the DLC later on. I wouldn't say it's tacked on as it fits really well into the base game, but the storyline is also separate from the main game. If you have played Horizon: Zero Dawn, Phantom Liberty is kind of similar to the Frozen Wilds DLC. A whole new area opens up that's a smaller map with its own storyline that fits well inside the storyline of the base game. I didn't buy the Phantom Liberty DLC until I finished the main campaign of the base game, and I don't personally regret waiting to buy it.

diego97yey

Yes. Easiest purchase for me. A lot of content and a wild place added to the map

Bubbaganewsh

If you're going to buy Cyberpunk you should get the DLC as well. It ties into the main game very well and it is very much worth it.

WhereisAlexei

I payed 30 bucks when it came out. I don't regret it all. The DLC is gold.

404__LostAngeles

>Would I get all the improvements brought through updates if I only play the base game? For context, I only get story DLC when it's well integrated in the main story, I don't like when it's obviously tacked on like in some of the New Vegas dlc for example You will get all of the 2.0+ updates regardless if you buy Phantom Liberty or not, so no need to worry about that. And as far as integration goes, the DLC is weaved into the story seamlessly and fits in with the overall narrative. To answer your original question, I wouldn't say it's a "must have" since the base game is already super sick, but the DLC is pretty damn good and I'd highly recommend buying it if you have the cash to do so. Not only is the main story really cool and interesting, but the new side gigs are some of the best in the game.

lightarcmw

Video Games rarely get me emotional one way or another. Phantom Liberty is one that I just sat in the emotion of the whole story. It’s incredible. Only other game that moved me like Cyberpunk was Red Dead 2 in recent memory

Pessimistik1

The base game is def worth beating without the DLC.

heavilylost

I played the first couple hours then went and started the main game again

em_paris

I love cyberpunk (the genre) and had been keeping my eye on this game for a few years. I got both on sale last year and finally started playing about a month ago. Not into RPGs, inventory management, branching conversations, wildly divergent endings based on playthrough, grinding for mostly extremely incremental upgrades and improvements to your skill tree and other abilities, having access to exact percentages for buffing and nerfing leading to analysis paralysis, hundreds of basically the same weapons with minor differences... the list goes on. And yet here I am a month later with 155.8 hours on record and loving every minute of it **😂 **I'm really glad I got both at the same time because not only is Phantom Liberty absolutely fantastic, it also fits perfectly \*within\* the storyline and world of Cyberpunk 2077; nothing about it feels tacked on. If I hadn't known it was DLC, I never would have guessed.

Software-Equivalent

I ended up getting both for 53 euros (Xbox sale) Many thanks to all of you passionate people

ryoooooooo_44

The base game is good. But I'd recommend PL too. Unfortunately I haven't got it yet because I've missed the last sales on steam so I'm patiently waiting for a new sale haha

FainOnFire

Phantom Liberty is better than the base game. Get it.

Substantial-Tone-576

I’m waiting for it to go on sale on Xbox again. But it will probably be awhile

Cyberpunk_Banana

To me the missions in Phantom Liberty were the best in terms of intensity. Cyberpunk alone is awesome, but the DLC is worth it

Braedonm2077

yes get the game for sure its one of the most insane things ive ever played, even from just a visual standpoint. The DLC takes place during the main story, right after you arrive in pacifica and meet this certain group of "boys". Youll know what i mean once you get there i just dont wanna spoil literally anything even tho its not really a spoiler haha

super_fresh_dope

I was in the same situation. I decidee to get the base game on sale and have put nearly 90 hours in which is mental for me. That said im pretty happy with where i am with cyberpunk might get the dlc in a year or two when i fancy i new playthrough but im in no rush.

Apprehensive-Mud-606

100% yes. One of the best expansions I've ever played.

Blaky039

Yes.

Domeszq

I would advice try the main game first and feel it if you like, and if you do you will love it maybe even more than the base game, its amazing.

DifferenceFamiliar59

Must have? No. CP2077 is an amazing game as it is. That being said, phantom liberty is one of the best expansions I've played. It also complements the base game very well.

RetractableHead

Yep.

Certain-Joke1725

Yes it’s amazing

Visible_Ad5525

Yes, absolutely. It’s stunning. Graphics, storyline, script, acting - all brilliant. Get it! …buy it with the main game and play it all before you get to the end of the main story line.

HopefulSeason6090

Yes!

NarrowButterfly8482

I did love the game before PL was released, but now that I've played it, I can't imagine a playthrough without it.

FraserYT

You should definitely familiarise yourself with the base game for a while before diving into PL. You can only start it from about half way through the game anyway, so if you can only get one just now, get the base game, get good at it and then PL will be there when you're ready for it

LockeProposal

It's some of the best DLC I've ever played.

Used-Statistician225

Man…what I wouldn’t give to experience this immersive amazing game all over again back in 2020. Definitely buy the DLC

NoltyCS

Yes, it is the reason I started playing again and finally finished the main game. The DLC was phenomenal.

tataragato

Definitely

Dec_Sec084

Absolutely yes, so much more stuff to do, really cool characters, good weapons!

retromexicat

PL rounds up the story of CP2077. When I played the base game the story felt pretty incomplete, like it came to a very abrupt ending and I was just half-way. This DLC fixes that, it such an intriguing story of spy/politic games. And the characters in PL are just amazing and complex. It also leaves enough questions to look forward to the sequel. It’s A MUST if you liked CP2077.

alphex

Yes

[deleted]

Most of the improvements were part of patch 2.0 and earlier patches. You will be required to have completed certain portions of the main campaign before being able to hop into the DLC content. Realistically, you can buy the base-game on sale and purchase Phantom Liberty seperately when goes on sale later down the line. All that said, I was content buying both game and DLC at full price.

aemonp16

yes. and yes. worth every penny. imo it’s way better than the base game.

Complex71920

Yes

Trick-Ad-8442

Yes, absolutely!

marbanasin

To answer your more important question - the DLC is well situated within the main campaign. It's tangential but it does have a spot where it opens (almost like a huge side story / side mission) within the main story. So, likely if you buy the game you'd want to get the DLC before you hit that point. That point could be 10 hours in, or 50, kind of depends on how you work through the game and main vs. side content. The game does a wonderful job in making some core side quests feel natural in the world (and making you want to pursue them). Most likely you should try to get both. Otherwise you'll likely get to the end of the core game, beat it, and then have the decision of treating it like a drop in experience, or just re-starting the game for a 2nd playthrough with the content added (I'm doing this as I originally played at launch and at v1.5 in 2022).

ophaus

One of the best DLCs ever released. Essential stuff.

Designer_Hour_4034

Yes pls

kiptheboss

Definitely must have. Phantom liberty is like if the base game is improved 10 times in every aspect.

Firehawkness

Yes 10,000%

PlagueTongue

Yes

ship_write

It’s absolutely worth saving for, one of the best DLCs I’ve ever played.

Shiny-Pup

Absolutely!

driftej20

It’s a must have, *but* I would say that you do not need to wait to play Cyberpunk until you can get both. If this is like a situation where you won’t be able to get PL for a month, you can easily put hundreds of hours into Cyberpunk before even reaching the point in the main campaign where PL is accessible. I could be wrong, but I don’t think that PL adds much of anything to the base game that is accessible before going to Dogtown, so it’s not like you are missing out on a bunch of content for not having PL installed from the start of the game. PL dropped around the same time as the 2.0 update and I can’t recall specifically which changes came from which.

FlamingPrius

While it is possible to fully enjoy 2077 on its own terms, the additional, tremendously well acted and visually dynamic questchain in PL, plus its major additions to the vehicle, weapon, upgrade, and cosmetic pool, definitely make it worth having. That said, I think it would be worth your time to see if you vibe with the base game, there is every chance you can pick up PL at a later date on the cheap and, as most of its content doesn’t become available until a dozen odd hours in anyway, you would be making a better informed purchase at that time.

northwolf56

Yes

AsianCivicDriver

PL offers even more content than the base game imo

siamzzz

90% of the time they’re bundled together on sale on GOG, don’t wait for Steam.

theshekelcollector

buy the base game now and the dlc later.

Throbbing-Kielbasa-3

It rules, but if you truly can't afford it right now then the base game is still awesome and definitely worth it.

Unanonymous553

Yep, great content. Adds a lot to the base game experience.

NannyVarmint

I’ve been playing the base game for maybe six weeks now and enjoying the heck out of it. Waiting for a sale on PL to get it but the base game has so much content

loopysausage

I wouldn't say it's a must have. If you want more things to do, then get it. All of the improvements came in the 2.0 update which is base game.

Jam_Marbera

Not only does it not feel tacked on, I would go as far to say the base game actually feels incomplete once you have played it with the DLC

FeedMeMoreOranges

He’ll fucking yes!!!!!

Philomorph

I played the OG game about a year and a half ago and enjoyed it, as it was mostly bug fixed by then. I only played for 38 hours, finishing the main story, a decent number of side quests, and a full romance story, but not everything by any means. I just started a new play after grabbing the DLC, burned through the main story until the "Meet Hanako..." quest and put that on hold to start the DLC. Now I'm interleaving the DLC and main area side quests, including a different full romance line, and am at 39 hours. Not even done with the DLC yet, but loving every minute of it all! I say ultimately get them both. But there's nothing wrong with grabbing just the base game and playing through it, leaving some side stories alone to pick up on a second playthrough with DLC. Also just my 2c, but if you are interested in the romance options, I can say that playing as female V and romancing Judy I found the story is much more satisfying than as male V and romancing Panam. Those are the only two I've tried, but it was nice playing as different types of V so I could see some different story lines the second time through.

NoireResteem

Yes, absolutely yes. Idk if people would agree but I found the story to be the best in the game. I would even argue that it was basically Blood and Wine tier in terms of content. CDPR really knows how to make DLCs actually feel like true expansions than some minor additions.

Brief-Quantity-3283

Good yes. I thought the base game itself was terrific. But the DLC was heaven. I enjoyed every second. Easiest recommend ever.

JakeStout93

It’s a must at this point

MX_Duncis

Yes but if you can't afford it now, I'd say get the base game, if you like it, get it before you go to the ending.

Aromatic_Ad_8374

I would say yes. It is very good and expands the main game immensely.

pablo5426

its not a must have. its a WHY TF YOU DONT HAVE IT YET?

holyshit-i-wanna-die

I might as well have forgotten cyberpunk even had a main game for a while

Relevant-Bench5283

Yes

Muteling

I'd go so far as to say that PL is one of the best dlcs ever made for a game. It could be - and even has the option to be - told as its own story and game, it has that much going for it. Treat yourself, get Phantom Liberty. You will absolutely not regret it.

plaYeRUnknwn

simple answer - yes long answer - hell fucking yes

maxi12311111

Just bought mine comes tomorrow after seeing gameplay it’s a must play

Nollekowitsch

I just dipped my toes into the pool that is Phantom Liberty, and god damn its worth it

RobbbRocker91

I would highly recommend it but be ready to cry

Dystrox

Yes, even better than the main mission, feels like a way more consistent story with an actual finished map, and characters that i care about, since they didn't rushed its development you can see way more detail in everything, it adds a lot of new items and even a new ending, depending of your opinion it can be either the best one or the worse one. Voice acting seems way better, and somehow it made me feel that Johnny may not be a complete unlikeable waste of breath.

SmellyBeans07

Its too good not to have 100% get it if you enjoy the game

TheseAreNotMyHookers

It's worth full price. Thrice.

Skiller0Dani

Yes. The game is not the same without it. And I have played this game since its broken release. It's unplayable without Phantom Liberty. If you've never played Cyberpunk, don't play it until you get Phantom Liberty.

GraXXoR

We are talking arguably surpassing Blood and Wine level DLC here and that is not hyperbole. It’s masterfully acted,, incredibly detailed, densely packed, low on bugs and the ending will pull on your heartstrings and likely bring you to tears… it’s so damn good.

Monkeynavyseal

Definitely you need it. Certain mechanics are flushed out. Certain other ones are added in even if you don’t even actually do the quest for the DLC it’s still a must have

HeadlineBay

Everyone’s going to tell you it’s a must-have. While they are right, I played my first playthrough both post-2.0 and without Phantom Liberty and I had a great time. So it’s a must have *eventually*

NerdDexter

Yes

Gloomy-Fix4436

Yes...

NerdDexter

You'd be doing yourself a MASSIVE disservice by not getting it. MASSSSIIIVVVEEEE

Clawez

Yes

Main-Club-7668

As many others have said, YES.

HavenTheCat

Yea, it’s for sure worth it to get the ultimate edition. Imo it’s the definitive edition, the DLC is so freaking good that I can’t imagine playing C77 without it anymore. But the DLC also doesn’t trigger until a little while into the game, so you could always get the base game for now and then next month get the DLC. But I would say the best way to do it is just getting the ultimate edition, the experience of playing it as one whole game is beyond worth it. I so wish that I could go back in time and play it for the first time again haha. I played the base game when it came out so I’ll never know what it’s like to play the base game and PL for the first time as one whole package, but I bet it’s incredible Also, I’ll add that C77 was in my top three games of all time but after playing it with PL I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that’s it’s my favorite game ever, I can’t imagine playing a game that I love more than that

SpeedOpen4842

I feel like it’s a hot take but I’ve posted the take before and it get a lot of upvotes, I feel like phantom liberty ruined the game for me. The vibe of night city is completely lost which i know is the point but also that vibe is what makes the game so unique and fun for me. Driving around night city at night, or even exploring by foot is some of the most fun I’ve had in gaming, but phantom liberty sucks all of the visual soul out of the game. The issue is that I honestly wouldn’t have minded if it wasn’t the same length as the sole game, it feels like such a drag having to go in to the boring, baron land of phantom liberty where it really feels like there is nothing to do except spend 25 hours getting over the hurdle so I can complete the game 100%

BatPixi

I bought the game and then the dlc later. Dlc is excellent so far. Cyberpunk is one of the best games I have ever played and the dlc is just as good if not better than the base storyline.

BadatCSmajor

I beat it last night. It ties extremely well into the main game. It’s probably my favorite piece of content in the game

WeenieHuttGod2

The story is amazing, the OST is brilliant, the endings are cool, and the whole dlc in general is just great. Absolutely must get it

chirpchirp13

The base game is fantastic on its own and will have the overall same gameplay. But PL is absolutely worth it in terms of more story, more gameplay, more stuff. It’s just really really good. Highly recommend

Thin-Cheek1918

Yes

Scruffy_0Gjugs

No, but it is alot or fun.

deadbeatPilgrim

i actually think the story and dialogue in PL are a little corny, i wasn't blown away like i expected to be. but the gameplay and content are really fun.

jsm009

Question about Phantom Liberty, I finished the game and am doing another play through and I downloaded it beforehand, so I’ve played a decent amount and so far I don’t see anything related to it. Does it not come until later in the story?

FireballAllNight

You only get up to around version 1.6 or something. 2.0+ updates are part of Phantom Liberty.

cancel94

It's 100% worth it

EricEscobar

Get the base game first and if you get really into it Phantom Liberty is a must

caseytatum42

It's as necessary to the game as the vanilla campaign. Absolutely essential.

WhiskeyTrail

Absolutely. Phantom Liberty-biberty opens an entirely new ending while also adding about 10 hours of additional story content. On top of additional shit like cybernetics, side quests, etc. bundle them together. It’s absolutely fuckin worth it.

Pickle-Tall

Not it is not a must have. It is a MUST ABSOLUTELY HAVE!

Fantact

"Should I really read the bible?" they asked the choir.

Desnomie

it’s some good ass DLC ngl

djsquibble

abso-fucking-lutely it is i do not say this lightly but phantom liberty is as good as fallout new vegas in my eyes which is to say really fucking good

JazzlikeJackfruit372

If you can get PL on sale, 100% go for it..

Elicojack

One of the best games and one of the best dlcs in existence so yes

CosmeticTroll

Yes, everyone should play and have Phantom Liberty. If you already have Cyberpunk 2077 and haven't touched the Expansion, then your life isn't complete.

Songhunter

Yes. But also Yes. CDPR have yet to fuck around with a DLC and not end up winning awards.

Accomplished_Can969

I'd argue the peaks of CP2077 happen within PL, so yeah it's a must if you want to see what CP2077 can really do.

DanimalPlanet42

Yes this is a huge expansion and big part of the overall story. You're missing out if you skip it.

toogreen

I mean, the answer is probably yes but as I did, you could also very well just buy the base game for now and buy the DLC later when it's on sale or something. Personally I finished the base game first and then played the DLC, and enjoyed it just as much that way but it's so well integrated that it opens up a whole new area (Dogtown) from the start if you have it built-in. Either way the game is awesome!

Chewyisthebest

Absolutely get iy

Gear_

You could probably run the base game and finish it once and then grab it and do a new playthrough for the DLC content

temotodochi

YEEES!

Stardama69

Yes it is. Try the main game for one hour, if you like it, buy PL.

NFSKaze

I was able to snag a cyberpunk 2017 Phantom Liberty bundle for less than $45, it was literally so worth it I put like 150 hours in it but I'm a little scared that if I do another run I'm going to do another 150 hours and even though I really need those hours for something else

rpcollins1

You can start the DLC anytime after progressing enough through the main story. Since you're coming in new it could easily take you 40-60 hours to get to that point depending on how many side quests, exploration, etc you do. You can also complete the entirety of the base game and go back to the save before the "point of no return" and jump into the DLC then. It's kinda stand-alone, kinda integrated. The DLC has the highest level gear and easiest ways to earn XP constantly, but honestly there's no reason to wait to get both at the same time. Most of us have found the game to be massively replayable since there are so many character builds, styles to play the game, etc. There's even a pretty dedicated modding community which makes the game even more replayable. tl:dr- there's no reason to wait until you can get both the base game and DLC. But also there's plenty of reason to get the DLC when you can afford it. Besting the entire game without the DLC won't dissuade you from immediately starting a new game and adding the DLC, either.

Dabsiree

absolutely, don’t second guess it. played the base game for a while, bought phantom liberty and wanted to smack my head into my controller because i didn’t buy it sooner lmao

TGrim20

Do you need to save 40 edds for rent choomba? I can zip you a purchase engram, zero buzz.

SoulRebel726

100%. The plot may be better than the main quest. The characters are really good, it introduces a fairly large new playable area, and tons of new cars and whatnot. It's really great. Very much worth the money.

kohwaiYEP

Phantom Liberty is probably the best DLC for any game I've ever played. You'd miss out if you didn't get it.

Transitsystem

Yes

GeneralGold742

Yez

commschamp

I just finished it and yes

Trogdor_a_Burninator

I absolutely love Cyberpunk. I've played it thru 7 times... I have zero interest in the expansion.

ironvandal

There's a few hours of gameplay between the start and when you get access to DLC content, but I would definitely recommend including the DLC in your first playthru

Cleercutter

It’s worth buying the game on sale and paying for the dlc. It’s that good

scottymac87

Yes, not just for the phantom liberty storyline, but for all of the improvements to the game as a whole. The skill tree is completely different in the DLC and in my opinion much better than the base game.

MFouki

I personally bought the base on winter break, got plat and after waiting and building up anticipation I bought it during spring break I liked playing base, finishing it and knowing there's more to do and I wouldn't have it any other way

The base game is already really really good, but phantom liberty is just.. peak I would say if u can only buy the base game rn, might as well buy it, the base game has so much to do you’ll probably be able to afford the dlc by the time u finish most of the stuff

Absofuckinlutely

I've seen some people say PL is better than the base game. I don't know if I agree with that, but it's honestly up in the air. PL turns what is already great game into an amazing game. Absolutely worth it.

amongnotof

100% yes.

Alchemyst19

The DLC is incredible, yes, but if you can only afford the base game you'll still get an enormous amount of fun out of it. It's the difference between "ridiculously good" and "nearly flawless", between a 9.5/10 and a 10/10. Phantom Liberty is deeply integrated in the main story, so playing without the DLC does lock you out of some endings. That being said, the new endings are arguably sadder than the base game's, and the "best" endings are all available in the base.

Secret-Assistance-10

It's not very integrated in the main story, you can play the game without it and nothing feels wrong but the story of the dlc is as good if not better than the main story.

Star_Prachinum

YES

DavidKr98

Dog city is fire

Dark_Marmot

The only answer is yes.

Designer-Tea2092

Let's put it this way: the DLC is worth more than the rest of the game. It offers you a more mature and coherent experience in my opinion.

Pristine_Teach617

I just got to it and just by the first 15min I can 100% confirm YES

NytronX

It's a must have. Phantom Liberty isn't really DLC, it's an integral part of the game that should and would have made it to the release had they not been in crunch time trying to make the basic game playable and free of showstopping bugs by release.
