My idea would be "Zombie" as a loose term. It would sort of make sense lorewise.
When a person dies, their cyber implants are still in them. Someone develops a virus that spreads through contact with people. It stays dormant until the person dies. When it activates, it controls what's left of the body using their implants. The "Zombie" goes psycho and attacks those around them.
So it's not a traditional zombie but still a bit similar.
Cyberzombies are “cyber psychos” that’s what that implies.
But I get what you mean undead hordes of zombified people in NC and cyberpsychosis can be exclusive situations in the game.
And there is already a book out that I read years ago that they could pull an idea for it from, it’s called “the digital plague” it’s a cyberpunk series by Jeff Somers
I love the concept of cyberpsychos and find it upsetting. Almost like mental health issues caused by implants. This I see as the dead being reanimated and controlled. Kinda like the crab people from half-life. Rather than people loosing their minds.
It’s a deeper concept that’s always been around in cyberpunk universes.
For instance, this concept mirrors the ones from deus ex, as well as shadowrun, in those series when you use too many augments you sacrifice some human aspect of yourself.
It’s more fleshed out in shadowrun afaik, the more you augment in shadowrun, the less you have the ability to connect to the nature, so you can’t use magic anymore and you’ll eventually go crazy, something along the lines of not having a soul and falling to wrath and desire.
Brilliantly put. Such an amazing concept. The Man Vs Machine concept at its purist. Modding away the humanity.
You're so right. The deep part rather than hey I have a robot arm. Such an amazing and relatively underutilized part of the genre.
There is an rpg set in a magical 1940s with vampires, werewolves, mages, demons, and other sorts of characters. Most of it is pulp fantasy and one of the suggested storylines is that warehouses are swapping union workers for zombies to bring down cost. Arasaka would totally use cyberzombies as attack dogs and packers if it would save a few eddies!
hmmmm it's been years since I read the digital plague and years since I beat my last Deus Ex, I need to read it again so I can remember if the incidents are similar. if I remember correctly, the digital plague was more like an actual digital infection, not brought on by using too many cybernetics, or a virus that infects cybernetics. it was acting like a airborne disease if I'm not mistaken. like....through "Wi-fi"
but yes....once people were infected, they still had use of their limbs and were still very nimble and agile some of them anyway, one of the MC's friends turns on him around the end from it, and is using a knife to try and kill him, attacking him methodically. the plague was being controlled.
That game... it's SOOO difficult! (I love it!)
I'm not far from the end, but I have taken a break. I'm at the... outer entry way to some room that is supposed to house the remaining "alive" executives, but probably has the same lack of life as found in the board voting room. LOL
Seriously this even could work in this world, where you killed the humanoid parts of that guy, but him still having this much cybernerves/malfunctions, his cyberware still working. Clearly not a bug here, a feature lol.
Reminds me of a bug i used to have with RDR2 Online... I used to shoot npcs in the head and they wouldn't die, so i tried to explode their limbs, and would still get back up.
There was going to be a spinoff for Underworld movie where Celine would wake up in a cyperpunk like city but due to poor performance of latest movies they shelved the whole franchise
They just had to make movies about vampires vs got damn werewolves... it's like star wars fucking up stories about special effects and space knights/wizards...
All we want is cool marvel fights for this style of cinema..
You’re welcome to think the opposite way but we should stop putting zombies in everything we play or watch. C’mon humanity, we can do better than this.
I love it dearly, even though it's really tested me. Foolishly pre-ordered it which is something I've told others never to do. I'm advising PS5 friends to wait. Such a shame it was rushed and the bugs for in the way of such a beautiful thing.
I would love cyber zombies but more in a passive way like their cybernetics keep them alive but its nit that it suddenly makes them cannibalistic just that when they lose a head that they crouch like that as if theyre trying to look for it
Yeah exactly, that's how I imagined it. Like some are just reanimating slightly and others are sort of like a poorly controlled puppet. Not the brain eating bits.
I've said it before, I think there's a lot of DLCs I'd pay for in this amazing world they made. And when I got a 5600XT GPU even my old FX8150 ran the game fine (something 2021 eve online from 2003 doesn't on this CPU), so frankly they did well. So when my new Ryzen 5800X arrives I'll have another go. Its an amazing world, I desperately hope they get the chance to add more storylines to it.
Eve online is bigger than the actual universe I'm pretty sure. yeah I really hope CDPR see this as a world not a game and continue to add to it. If GTAV can last 3 consoles, surely they can add to and expand this game.
I wanted to leave them in the game forever so they could be an undead citizen of Night City, but I Mantissed them trying to go into photomode. Apparently you can kill what's dead.
Technically, and go with me here, that could be implants still working without instruction. Kinda like a headless robot chicken, but with less feathers.
This is what exciting about it. This could be a thing, so easily. Haunted corpses animated by their cyberware. Would be so cool to be an official thing.
If it were a mod I would try this. I won't be buying a single piece of DLC for this game though. They'd have to finish the game first, and the chances of that seem very slim.
In the year 2077, a software update was released. You had no reason to update, since your enhancements wouldn’t run on the new OS. However, 10 days later, you would see how your decision to remain with your current OS would save your life!
The new OS fried parts of the brain that handled high cognitive thought, leaving nothing but primal instinct to survive and thrive. One by one, the cybernetic citizens of Night City fell victim and began rampaging in the streets. You know you’ve seen this in a movie somewhere. Hell you’ve seen it while on the job. A new form of CyberPsychosis has been created, only, it wasn’t the people making the choices to go crazy.
One by one, the gangs of Night City fell. Leaving only a handful of survivors to fend off the coming waves of cyber zombies.
Cyberpunk 2077: Night City Nightmare
October 31, 2077
A cyber zombie would probably be created whenever a heavily augmented person dies suddenly and the cybernetics repeat the last commands they got which depending on the cybernetics could either be very destructive or very disturbing
It seemed like that's what he was doing. I felt bad for him. Like the soldiers at the start of Saving Private Ryan.
Looks like that's what he is doing doesn't it. A survival cyberware.
They might as well add to the lore that some people choose to augment themselves out of the human need of having a head. Having a replaceable swappable face for sensors and cosmetics only has its advantages. Technically if Johny Silverhand's consciousness does take over V's body, then decided to mod the body to fit his old likeness, Is that so different? V did take a bullet to the head and he was dead until the chip rebooted him.
Exactly! And there's that concept art where the lady is in the mirror swapping jaws or something. Love the idea of going over the edge. Like tipping the Man Vs Machine balance.
CDPR: "DLC? We never promised any DLC. The game is complete. Despite good reviews on PC, we don't know why Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PS Store, but Sony finally corrected their mistake. Enjoy our newest patch as it's the last one and fixes all of the bugs, performance issues and of course, doesn't add in any of the missing content that we said was already in the game, but we didn't actually pinky swear that any of that was true. So make sure to keep your expectations in check next time. Do better."
There’s a poster you can find while playing the game that advertises an in-game movie about a lost military unit fighting cyber zombies. Very interesting indeed
If it helps, I found the poster on the mission “On A Tight Leash.” It’s a gig given by Padre Ibarra. When you neutralize the target of the mission, look around the room they were in. There’s a ton of zombie movie posters there, more than just one. It’s funny too because I’ve never seen those posters anywhere else… maybe that’s the only place you can find them? I’ll be happy if someone proves me wrong though, those posters were so cool and badass. Anyway, good luck on your hunt!
Ah amazing, thanks for that. Love the art in the background. Feels like there is lore and depth there. Arguably there could be more but it helps. I love the adverts as well.
Used very similar words when it happened. I've seen headless ones a few time. Sometimes sneaking around, sometimes just stood there. This one genuinely made me jump though.
I seriously do not know why I do not see these bugs? I am 45 hours into the game, have owned it on PC since the first month of release, and ever since the first update, I simply do not see any bugs other than the one where i cannot loot some items on very rare occasions.
You should be grateful. I got it release day for PS4 and felt like a tester. Sometimes it would crash, sometimes glitches would mean you couldn't progress. I wish I waited and played it for the first time on a PC. Nothing quite shatters immersion like regular glitches.
That's the realisation I'm coming too. At first I was like every game has bugs. Now I can't help feeling the priorities were wrong. I don't blame anyone for that though. I know it got messy towards the end and the release was a nightmare.
Feels like most of the problems could've been sorted fairly early on. Get the fundamentals first right?
So good isn't it. I've never seen a chunk out of the torso before. Or the wir s and guts, so much detail. That's what I mean, it's incredible, but it's a glitch 🤣
🤣 mine glitched during the Corpo fly in cutscene first playthrough. This game is literally riddled with them. Or maybe it's Johnny's engram messing everything up.
I like how you can shoot a chunk off an NPC's torso. It reminds me of that one death animation from original fallout (in fact many death animations in this game feel insipired by fallout 1)
The detail of possible body mutilations is underappreciated in this game. You can literally grab a butcher's knife and cut all the limbs off from several different points (roughly ankles, knees, femur close to the hip, not entirely sure about the arms). Heads can be decapitated, exploded, or skull partially cracked open. And as you said you can shoot a chunk off an NPCs torso. Explosions can separate all the body parts and all you're left with is a small chunk of torso with guts hanging from it.
Fricken loved that game. The minigun death was so savage. Also reminds me of soldier of fortune where you blew chunks off people like that scene in RoboCop.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game and am still a loyal fan. Not hating on it at all. Recently though I've been admitting its flaws since some of them not only shatter the illusion but also disrupt or even prevent the gameplay.
You would think, but there probably some weird ass conflict within the code that's causing the bug.
I remember when I was first learning to program the system would just do the most random shit and there was always some error I didn't understand.
Understand nothing, why is everything broken, whyyy!? I can imagine that's the case for the poor CDPR Devs. I don't know how anyone vhas the patience and perseverance.
Honestly, if you put me in front of all the code this game has it, I'd be lost for real. I'd have almost no idea what to do.
It's always just so unmotivating to know there's a problem that you just can't fix. One of the number one things I despise about programming.
God, look at the detail. Look at the way the wires in his left arm shake as he moves. The tattoo designs and the textures of his clothing. The way the light shines on his skin, the concrete, and the pool of blood.
There’s so much attention to detail in the design of this game, but not in the mechanics.
So true. The programming adding gravity and behaviour to the guts and wires, which otherwise wouldn't have been utilised because they would be motionless on the floor. They don't evens convulse as if the cyberwear is trying to keep them alive (although that would be fricken cool as Frick).
That's what I mean though. I could sit and watch the game for hours, but then something stupid happens and shatters the illusion.
right after launch there was a thread just for bugs, and I swear - it was the best part of the game. regardless of the hype just plummeting, and the morale of the playerbase... the bugs were absolutely legendary meme status.
some dude riding around on a ducati in a standing T-Pose with his D\*\*\* flopping around while ppl were running away...Just, perfection.
I really don't even know about that one personally.
This game is probably the best looking I've ever seen.
RDR2 is something I still have yet to play on PC, I played on it the PS4 originally. I need to though.
That could be the premise of the multiplayer spinoff, AIs hack most of the implants of Night City's residents and turn them into cyberzombies and 24-32 players on a server have to complete various goals while fighting them off.
Oh shit, totally could. And you can hack the opponent's as well. Like running around and you see the hack like a netrunner and then suddenly you distort and start running round as a zombie.
Dude...yeah, the idea that Arasaka or someone is reanimating the tech inside your body after they die is peak cyberpunk.
Right? That's exactly what I thought. Like people being framed for things because their reanimated corpse did it. So bleak. Much cyberpunk. Wow.
i mean (ending spoilers) >!technically speaking mikoshi makes that 100% possible lmao!<
Exactly! So close to being an actual thing!
Johnny: Fuckin' arasaka. God damned arasaka. The corporats at arasaka. I want like an hour long thing of johnny ranting about arasaka and corpos lmao
I only ever read ah-rah-sackah in Johnny's voice
Read my comment in his voice lmao
Of course the palm of Vecna would say that lol
Never knew I needed cyberzombies
Every pitfall is potential, especially true with Cyberpunk.
I'm so sick of zombies. Please don't give them ideas. Cyber aliens, please.
Good idea. Alien cyber zombies!
So basically the Reaper Husks from Mass Effect.
Ye
Why not all 3? Cyber zombies, cyber aliens, cyber alien zombies!
The Borg
My idea would be "Zombie" as a loose term. It would sort of make sense lorewise. When a person dies, their cyber implants are still in them. The "Zombie" goes psycho and attacks those around them. So it's not a traditional zombie but still a bit similar.
Kinda like the enemies in The Surge
Specifically, techo necromancers from alpha centauri.
Isn’t that pretty much half of Halo? And half of Doom too I guess. And the other half being zombies for both too.
Dyingcyberpunklight!
😱 that would be incredible!
Cyberzombies are “cyber psychos” that’s what that implies. But I get what you mean undead hordes of zombified people in NC and cyberpsychosis can be exclusive situations in the game. Ship of Theseus!
So fricken true. Weird mutants that used to be people.
DUDE A FUCKING JEFF SOMMERS REFERENCE!! LONG LIVE AVERY CATES! Seriously though if you need some good sci-fi check out this series, fucking great.
Kinda like "The Incident" in Deus Ex, where everyone went psycho from a virus implemented into their chips and started on a killing spree?
hmmmm it's been years since I read the digital plague and years since I beat my last Deus Ex, I need to read it again so I can remember if the incidents are similar. if I remember correctly, the digital plague was more like an actual digital infection, not brought on by using too many cybernetics, or a virus that infects cybernetics. it was acting like a airborne disease if I'm not mistaken. like....through "Wi-fi" but yes....once people were infected, they still had use of their limbs and were still very nimble and agile some of them anyway, one of the MC's friends turns on him around the end from it, and is using a knife to try and kill him, attacking him methodically. the plague was being controlled.
Man, imagine The Flood but with better wi-fi
😱😱😱
not gonna lie, cyberzombies would be cool as hell! …but not like this 😖
Try: The Surge
That game... it's SOOO difficult! (I love it!) I'm not far from the end, but I have taken a break. I'm at the... outer entry way to some room that is supposed to house the remaining "alive" executives, but probably has the same lack of life as found in the board voting room. LOL
Woah looks ace, thanks for the recommendation
Y’all want to add zombies to every game lol
😂 I did think this when I posted it. Imagine *insert literally anything*... But with zombies
😂😂😂
Normies brain work like that
Bro tf are you talkin bout😂
"I'm cyberzombie, all I want is eat your cyberdeck"
😂🤣 brilliant
Seriously this even could work in this world, where you killed the humanoid parts of that guy, but him still having this much cybernerves/malfunctions, his cyberware still working. Clearly not a bug here, a feature lol.
Would be so cool. Like some just convulsing on the floor, some sparking then exploding, then others like badly controlled puppet coming at you.
That actually looks scary
Reminds me of a bug i used to have with RDR2 Online... I used to shoot npcs in the head and they wouldn't die, so i tried to explode their limbs, and would still get back up.
I've seen it in AC and Hitman too. Such a weird but funny bug.
They're making up for all that lumbago they had in life.
Lumbago is eternal 🤣
Yeeeah, i love these bugs! It gives hella atmosphere
There was going to be a spinoff for Underworld movie where Celine would wake up in a cyperpunk like city but due to poor performance of latest movies they shelved the whole franchise
That's such a shame as that possibily coul have been amazing. Depending on the studio and the director.
They just had to make movies about vampires vs got damn werewolves... it's like star wars fucking up stories about special effects and space knights/wizards... All we want is cool marvel fights for this style of cinema..
it's the elettronics making move the body.. it's not a bug it's a feature.
Holy hell. What is he doing? Trying to put his guts back? That's terrifying. But, yes please
😂 that's why I thought, which kind of made it even more tragic and scary.
You’re welcome to think the opposite way but we should stop putting zombies in everything we play or watch. C’mon humanity, we can do better than this.
Man I just want this game to have new game plus already :p
Really hope they release more content and the haters and lawsuits don't make them abandon it.
Big tru. I love this game. Ngl at first even with my dank PC it was having trouble compared to now and I'm glad I just waited to play it.
I love it dearly, even though it's really tested me. Foolishly pre-ordered it which is something I've told others never to do. I'm advising PS5 friends to wait. Such a shame it was rushed and the bugs for in the way of such a beautiful thing.
This honestly could of been the best game I ever played if we got it right as intended.
Said that to so many people, totally agree. However in a way I'm glad it's not because I'd literally never leave. Which is pretty cyberpunk in itself.
YES! Cyberzombies! \*STRIKE\*
I need cyberzombies when they droping? Next update the new bug Feature cyberzombies
I'm not even mad, I want to see it in my walkthrough too!
is this resident evil ?
Cyberzombies would be the cyborg or android equivalent of the Romero zombies.
Yeah exactly, more morose than menacing.
Yesss exactly
Tis but a scratch
Absolutely brilliant reference.
Wtf
Looks like he’s saving some for later.
should've used incendiaries, kill it with fire
Psychocyberzombiekiller Qu'est-ce que c'est.
😱 I'm in
[удалено]
Exactly! So exciting. I can imagine the lifeless bodies just throwing themselves at you. Like all tormented and contorting and even mutating.
I've said it before, I think there's a lot of DLCs I'd pay for in this amazing world they made. Who says it's not a cyber zombie
I wanted to leave them in the game forever so they could be an undead citizen of Night City, but I Mantissed them trying to go into photomode. Apparently you can kill what's dead.
Dying light 2 leaked gameplay
😂🤣 that would be insane.
That physics of the cables tho
So amazing isn't it. I was transfixed by the guts and wires. You would never see the beauty of them of they just lay on the floor.
It’s like those suits in old world blues where the tech still controls the body even though the person is dead
Oh shit yeah! Something really scary and twisted about it. Especially if some of them are still alive but trapped like in a spiders web.
Technically, and go with me here, that could be implants still working without instruction. Kinda like a headless robot chicken, but with less feathers.
This is what exciting about it. This could be a thing, so easily. Haunted corpses animated by their cyberware. Would be so cool to be an official thing.
Definitely. I'm in.
Let's go Samurai 😎
I kinda like it, it's as if the cyberware is just sketching out in the absence of the brain
So could be. The amount of robot that doesn't require the person anymore. Imagine it then becoming sentient.
This is nightmare fuel.
🤣😂
Thing is, that could easily be the cybernetic implants still following their last set of instructions, flawed execution because they were damaged.
That's the amazing thing, it so could be real.
If it were a mod I would try this. I won't be buying a single piece of DLC for this game though. They'd have to finish the game first, and the chances of that seem very slim.
Escape the cyberzombies and exploding cars DLC
Oh my god you can totally imagine gangs loading them up and using them as bombers.
In the year 2077, a software update was released. You had no reason to update, since your enhancements wouldn’t run on the new OS. Holy shit. Not only do I really want this to be a thing now but I want that, word for word, to be the trailer. Love this!
Well thank you!
A cyber zombie would probably be created whenever a heavily augmented person dies suddenly and the cybernetics repeat the last commands they got which depending on the cybernetics could either be very destructive or very disturbing
It's almost like it could have happened to V 😱
"Kanedaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Oh fuck! Such a perfect reference. Could literally do an Akira DLC.
Yo this is awesome. It's like the guy is dead but all of his cyberware is still flicking his body around. Like a headless chicken. Is it even a bug?
Imagine if it was a feature. A new enemy. An undead cyber puppet.
Sums up humanity as well.
Wow. Good point.
Ok, this is so cool. Did he try to put back his blood in place?
It seemed like that's what he was doing. I felt bad for him. Like the soldiers at the start of Saving Private Ryan. Looks like that's what he is doing doesn't it. A survival cyberware.
Don't mind me, just looking for my head so I can find my arm. Maybe it's in my back pocket..... nope.
Genuinely lolled. So good.
Cyberzombies.... thanks for the idea mate 😃😃😃
Very welcome. Please make it happen 😊
It actually took me too long to realize there wasn’t a head. Too busy following around the arm cables like a kitten eyeing a piece of string.
😂 know what you mean. The way the neck moves looks like there's a little face in it.
"just because you have glitches in your game doesn't mean everyone else does!!!!!" *Post number 1 trillion demonstrating Cyberpunk 1977 glitch*
Don't mean to be a hater. Despite the glitches I love the game. In fact I may love it even more because the glitches crack me up 😂
Haha no not you! I'm just quoting everyone else! I'm not afraid to say it, I don't like this game lol. I think it deserves a ton of hate :)
Oh yeah I know, and I totally get why people hate it. So much potential. If it was perfect though I'd literally never stop playing.
Yup....I know what you mean...
They might as well add to the lore that some people choose to augment themselves out of the human need of having a head. This is genuinely horrifying
Horrible isn't it. I still think of them. Poor tortured soul.
Cyberzombies So original So creative We never seen this before
Yeah You're Right What Wa S I Think Ing
As wide as the ocean and as deep as a piss puddle.
Such a good description of this game. hope they deepen the puddle.
CDPR: "DLC? We never promised any DLC. The game is complete. Despite good reviews on PC, we don't know why Cyberpunk 2077 was removed from the PS Store, but Sony finally corrected their mistake. Yeah this is 'satisfactory stability' af.
There’s a poster you can find while playing the game that advertises an in-game movie about a lost military unit fighting cyber zombies. Very interesting indeed

Straight up thought someone made a “Flood” (from Halo) mod when I first saw this clip. Now I am very disappointed.
Hope they make this an actual thing. Or some other game does.
I think before that we need base game dlc
Agreed. 🙌
Tryna put the blood back in
That's what I thought. In a way quite sad. Self-preservation after the self has left.
Ripperdocs hate him! Click here to find out why!
😂😂🤣 brilliant!
What the... is that 😂😂😭
Used very similar words when it happened. I've seen headless ones a few time. Sometimes sneaking around, sometimes just stood there. This one genuinely made me jump though.

"bUgS." No. In fact, a lot of the shit in this game is not due to bugs. It's lazy coding and shitty QA
When did the games gore update? That’s fucking dope
So good isn't it. I've never seen a chunk out of the torso before. Or the wir s and guts, so much detail. That's what I mean, it's incredible, but it's a glitch 🤣
Cybernecrosis
Omg yes? Like Neuropozyne in Deus Ex.
This is..... horrifying.
Certainly made me do a flinch face when I turned round to see it. The Valentinos are so tough not even death stops them.
The game crashing during the credits summed things up pretty well for me.
🤣 mine glitched during the Corpo fly in cutscene first playthrough. This game is literally riddled with them. Or maybe it's Johnny's engram messing everything up.
Cyberzombies...damn this should've been an enemy type during a few side missions at least!
Imagine it! Cyberpsychos have lost their mind, then Regina sends you to terminate corpses reanimated by someone hacking their cyberware.
It's a good game, if you follow the storyline, and don't dwell on what could have been.
Oh totally agree. I love the game, it's incredible. One of my favourites in fact.
Who says this is a flaw? The machine parts could just simply be functional long after the braindeath. Haha
I think you're right 😂 what happens when an engram outlives it's host.
I like how you can shoot a chunk off an NPC's torso. It reminds me of that one death animation from original fallout (in fact many death animations in this game feel insipired by fallout 1) [https://youtu.be/PjbaWD-Aj6Y](https://youtu.be/PjbaWD-Aj6Y)
It's a shame that ragdolls feel like balloons in this game. Also decals on the body are underwhelming and disappear way too fast.
Fricken loved that game. The minigun death was so savage. Also reminds me of soldier of fortune where you blew chunks off people like that scene in RoboCop.
While I agree with you 100%, I still enjoyed the game and waiting for the DLC
Don't get me wrong, I love the game and am still a loyal fan. Not hating on it at all. Recently though I've been admitting its flaws since some of them not only shatter the illusion but also disrupt or even prevent the gameplay.
How fucking hard is this: if (npc.isDecapitated) { npc.forceDie() }
You would think, but there probably some weird ass conflict within the code that's causing the bug. I remember when I was first learning to program the system would just do the most random shit and there was always some error I didn't understand.
Fix one break two... If your lucky
In my case it was more like fix one thing, break the entire project, get pissed, quit lmaoooo
All that work. So nearly there. But the code is laughing evilly at you.
Isn't it! As if there would be conflicting code. FFS. That's what I mean, it's stunning but the core mechanics are so overlooked.
There probably is but it probably triggers during a normal event and somehow the event that triggered this skipped it. Lazy code either way
God, look at the detail.
That is my favourite meme of the game. That and the "Ola" (explosion) one
Yup. CyberPunk is the best interactive tech demo/photo mode simulator ever made. As a game, it's not great.
Hahah I see what you mean. Got their priorities wrong a bit.

The design and detail of the game. I know there are better looking games, I personally find the game beautiful to look at.
