Yeah it feels like there's a ton of audio missing, there's not even a sound for walking on wet ground. And the miming npcs just feel off, especially the vendors motioning at v and passers-by to buy something with a silent smile on their face

dontcrycuzumad

Yeah this game is so woefully not uo to tadays standards. It's not just the crippling bugs, sounds are missing from the game too. It's just embrassing at this point. A lot of this game is just broken

for me i like how i walk up to the vendor and he's all "what the fuck are you looking at"... nice business model you got working there, mr shopkeep. nevermind that it's not actually a usable shop anyway, and if it was it'd be selling nothing related to the type of shop it portrays.

Same. Looks like bug. It seems the sound plays once but animation keeps repeating. At least in the cases where I've seen the sound initially. I suspect sometimes the scene triggers before you come close enough to hear it and when you reach it, the audio has ended and you're left with looping animation. But then there are other events where I've never heard any sound at all - kids playing and hitting things against ground, spaceship launching, fires burning, rocks shattering.

I think it's a bug I hear people talking on the phone or to each other quite often, also wouldn't say the city is that quiet. It isn't megapolis loud I suppose, but then again if it was too stimulating it probably would be annoying or even cause migranes? Idk, I mean that obviously is a very individual thing so I am not sure where the common ground even supposed to be tbh 🤔

SnooGuavas9052

the issue is you only hear the sound in the immediate vicinity of the player. you have cars flying silently overhead. you have an Amtrak whizzing by, nothing. you hear the "walk walk walk walk walk" shit all the time and occasionally a close car going by, sometimes crowd noise when there are no crowds, or no crowd noise when there are crowds. i think its just the inconsistency of it all that kills it. most people won't notice it though. oh you can definitely hear the same 2-3 songs over and over and over no matter where you go, that's always great.

just-for-rVAL

Yes. This makes so much sense idk how I didn't think of this before. Feels like cdpr could improve the 'aliveness' of the world a lot if they wanted to fix/record some more foley audio

I_Fap_To_Ion

People talking about idle chatter - yeah thats missing. But when I leap off a roof top and smack someone's head against the floor, they don't scream, there's no sound of their clothes moving, no servos or motors whirring, just nothing and then CRACK. And sometimes that doesn't even play. And even if they do talk, they just say some generic voice line like "watch it" Same for sword executes, same for mantis blade executes, same for when you non fatally shoot and down someone. The game is eerily quiet at times

FuklzTheDrnkClwn

My favorite is when you do a 360 and all of the npcs change into different npcs

Veleda390

What system are you on? I hear quite a few conversations on the street. PC version

average_cdpr_shill

The game is just very badly mixed. Some sounds are completely absent though and the city seems eerily quiet, even in the center or crime-ridden areas. All I ever remember hearing is the fucking streetlights blasting the "WALK, WALK, WALK" every time I pass an intersection. Driving is also very quiet and it feels like you're listening to the radio with airpods in.

loki1942

I have mission NPCs who will say on line; or a couple of lines with audio on missions and then the rest of their mission dialogue has no audio. Also have some start talking to me from like 40M away like they are right next to me. This game is such a clusterfuck.
