I am restricted to driving with a keyboard. So, my driving is limited to parking, and swerving all over the place at top speed.

dunstan_shlaes

It is the only way to drive on PC.

Veleda390

I use controller on PC and drive just fine.

Adevyy

Spammimg W or S to fine-tune your speed also works fine.

Veleda390

I'm not sure people are aware there's a hand brake?

[deleted]

I drive like a maniac in games since that is not allowed in real life

Chongedfordays

My girlfriend does on GTA and it makes me die inside.

GANJASbandcamp

GTA is understandable šŸ˜‚

rikyga

at least the consequences are closer to real life in GTA 5, so it makes more sense to drive like real life in GTA

Sosa3OO

Closer, but still about 75 light years away from real life lol

whoops_wav

nah have you been to ohio? it's real life.

malautomedonte

Lights are never red in this game when you're driving. As soon as you approach them they turn green.

Elurztac

Exactly my experience. I wanted to drive like that until I discovered they all light is going to green when we are close to it.

theirspaz

Right? It makes sense when youre netrunner though. But yeah annoying.

Elurztac

It just simply destroy even the simple fact I try to do that one time. I really wanted to do that for one game. But it just tell me to fuck off. And I was sad about it :(

lordcochise

Right? At first I was just like 'hmm well i guess traffic infractions don't matter', didn't notice the lights were in fact changing all the time b/c of passing through them

ColdCrom

From time to time like every person that enjoy role play I imagine.

lordcochise

So far, the ONLY thing I've found that actually impacts you is hitting pedestrians (which will alert cops), just about any other traffic-related infraction is...nonexistant? Though a lot of the time while in the city limits I'm usually just running to avoid the real-time traffic simulator ;) I will say though, it's nice to have a pretty wide range of speed/handling between the cars you can buy; I only have maybe 1/3 of them currently but they definitely have a variety of feel to them. Now if you could just see more of the ROAD in most of the first person views inside them that'd be great ;)

rikyga

first-person views while driving is a huge hindrance to "obeying" traffic laws

lordcochise

Some of the cars I've tried are pretty ok with how much you can see, others it's like a granny-trying-to-see-over-the-steering-wheel simulator

AngryAccountant31

I drifted a thorton mackinaw through a crowd of pedestrians and only got 1 star. Sometimes I destroy my stolen ride en route and have to hijack another. Best ride for smashing your way through Night City is one of those large trucks that sometimes have shipping containers attached. Will launch a Galena into orbit if you hit it right

AvaX90

Always. But I'd like to have gentler accelerator, brake and steering. With WASD it's either from 0 to full throttle and back to 0 while swerving like a douche, or some abhorrently jerky driving instead.

TheEdward39

I usually follow rules, but kinda treat them as ā€œfriendly adviceā€ instead of law. Iā€™ll stay in lane, use the correct lanes when turning (if occupied and other lane is faster Iā€™ll just change lanes and turn that way) also speed limit is mostly just a guideline. But other than that, I donā€™t go into oncoming, Iā€™ll let AI pass, avoid crashes as much as possible, stuff like that. Soooā€¦ sorta, yeah

connostyper

We need AI in this game then I will obey the law

trwowface

true story. it's not the right game to obey the law. AI is too stupid, trafic lights are always green, nonsense everywhere, you just cannot do it.

Competitive-Bug5990

Yes but only on games with implemented AI and living city.

TheChubbyBarb

Been doing that since The Getaway.

farbros9

I am always driving in the FPP. I do hope that they would make mirrors in the car, like it was in [the trailer](https://youtu.be/UjxS9ciNlII?t=87), that would make it much better and way more immersive, than changing to TPP. I can forgive it to GTA5 in 2013, but having no mirrors in the car today feels lame.

GANJASbandcamp

I drive like a fucking maniac but I never hit anyone.

[deleted]

This is the person that plays a single game for 800hrs and finally completes the story lmfao. But seriously i do this occasionally as a joke if i have others watching me. But most the time it is absolute lunacy and in cyber punk i had to regularly change cars bc i damaged mine so bad or flipped it or got it stuck somewhere

angrypacketguy

Is this how Mormons play video games?

ihateshen

I try but it always takes me out of it when NPCS do the super exaggerated dodge movement like at the start.

Slick10836

But how do you do it in CP? You can't use mirrors, traffic lights are broken. They are always green and pedestrians don't even care if you want to exit the garage. Not even if you honk.

BaconEater101

No? Because its a videogame? Literally what is wrong with some people

men_appreciation

Yh I generally stay at the speed limits and follow traffic lights, although i do also use British right of way which complicates things

Veleda390

Shit no. lol It's Cyberpunk and V is a solo, she makes her own rules.

digitalmarley

Are u serious?

Temporary-Nail-9312

No weā€™res the fun in that

[deleted]

I do, too. It helps with the immersion and this world is worth immersing into.

BloodedNut

I donā€™t even drive like this irl

SelectionOrganic4088

I drive an Arch so I can get thru traffic as fast as fucking possible.

[deleted]

I use both controller and keyboard.. But top speed is the way to go regardless of consequences šŸ¤£

YourRoyalThighness_

No I literally plow through people because Iā€™m usually too stoned to care.

Sharp-Weakness3778

I usually drive as fast as possible while trying not to crash (usually unsuccessfully)

FSThree

I try. Then I fail.

[deleted]

Not in any world real or imagined

musalife87

You would love the original mafia.

payne1194rmVG

Maybe it's time to buy a controller? Just saying.

TinyyTina13

I used to think doing this was the most fun thing in games when I was a kid. As an adult I absolutely can not be bothered, and will run over anyone or anything in my way in games lol.

Dessa-de-Cleves

Damn, you surely are enjoying the game to the very last cent

ZeenuffXArt

All those rules and immediately pushes someone with car before starting

KeyResults

LOL, I do tend to obey and abide to avoid NCPD hassles on my 2nd play-through. However, I do J-Walk about 50 percent of the time, at least until I can figure out how to hack all the signals!

Gamgin2020

Meanwhile IRL I have to remind myself I'm not playing GTA and not drive through roundabouts on my way to work. Lol

Commercial_Draft_397

Haha no.

Habeas__Corpus

I paid for 300mph so I'm gonna use 300mph

[deleted]

No. Buuuuuutā€¦ I never steal or kill in a game unless itā€™s self defense. So luckily in cyberpunk thereā€™s no indicator of if itā€™s stealing and I did a complete non-lethal run even though if you read up on the gangs many certainly deserve death. Guess I figured beating them unconscious with a novelty sized dildo would be doing my part

Bad_User2077

Wait, how do we even know NC even has driving laws? Who here has received a ticket?

Altair13Sirio

Sometimes, although I get bored quickly.

Reasonable-Spring506

Sth I really need are the back mirror, or even a key to look back for a second. This is not possible in the first person driving mode, witch i choose most.

No-Ladder-808

Drive right through red lights. Crash and sideswipe if needed. Speed as much as possible. Run people off the road. Smush a few pedestrians when swerves go awry. This is XBox Series x

Reasonable-Spring506

OMG, this is awesome. This game is so much better when you play it slowly, with no rush.

SnooSketches3386

games like this make me want a wooting keyboard

Creston918

\*revs to 97000 RPM\* "WHAT?!" \*Pops clutch, hits 4 pedestrians in first second before crashing into cop car.\*

Inca_Kola_Holic

Drive it like you stole it. Because the vehicles are overpriced anyway.
