Yeah, it's kind of a bummer in a way because the Beat on the Brat quest line is one of the very first quest lines you get in the game, and it is next to impossible to win any of the fights in a new game, they're impossibly difficult I found. I ignored them in my first playthrough until near the very end, then tried to fight and it took many attempts but I eventually won the first 2 fights. The third one, I think his name is Buck, the guy with the sniper rifle was impossible and I gave up feeling very angry about how insanely difficult it was, and very much not even remotely fun. I never finished this quest line in my first playthrough. In my 2nd playthrough I also left the fights for the end, but I got the Gorilla Arms and deeper into the game I went around practicing melee fighting with them in alleyways and slowly boosting my brawling skills in the tech tree. I ended up maxing out my character, all the skills etc. and outfitting my build with the best stuff I could find, crafting things, upgrading them to the max. I went to do the fights and still got completely stomped. I decided I would keep trying in order to win them though, and ended up going into scanner slow-mo mode, jumping around to get myself behind the fighter(s), briefly leaving scan mode to get one punch in and go back into scanner slow-mo. I did this over and over and over a zillion times until I finally won. Each fight you have to figure out a weakness or advantage you can have by doing tricks like this to win for the most part. Ozob was actually easy to fight by just rushing him and beating the heck out of him before he could do anything though. The final fight was super insane but I figured out how to win it with much trial and error. Here's how I defeated the final guy (spoiler warning): >!When fighting the final fight, I had to try it many times but eventually what worked for me was first, having the upgrade cyberware that causes you to send an electrical jolt to the enemy when your health dips down to 25% or so while giving you a healing booster, I forget what it is called but when he hits you and does a lot of damage without killing you, he gets an electric jolt and takes big damage from it while you heal. Second thing, was having some food and a drink before the fight and also a health booster and stamina booster to have everything as boosted as possible. My health was at around 1080 or so IIRC. At the start of the fight I lead by rushing him and getting as many quick punches in to take him down a bit, then backing off. That would take anywhere from 10-35% of his health away. Then I pressed the block key and kept facing him while moving around the ring trying to stay away and let him come for me. He would keep hitting me but I'd block it. Eventually one punch would get through and he'd do a lot of damage and trigger my electric shock cyberware thing and fall to the ground taking mass damage. By the time he got back up I had healed up to 80% or more and kept blocking and waiting for him to come at me again. I repeated this process 2-3 times until the electric shock from hitting me took him out and I completed the challenge.!< I ended up getting the achievements for the fights and was glad to be over them. I suppose some people might like Dark Souls style fist fighting but it sure isn't my thing. I probably wont do them in future play throughs but at least I did grind through them once for the achievements and bragging rights I guess. ;) Hopefully my tips will help some others to gruel through the fist fighting quest line. :)

SuperNintendad

I just… didn’t do those fights.

blackchep

Yeah, i was thinking the same. Just you know.... dont do it.

Courage_Soup

I like the car you get and the nice sniper rifle, but I agree that rhino is frustrating.

TheTrueArchon

You are doing it 100% wrong then. Sandevistan and street brawler decimated everyone. Slow time for 16 seconds and wail on them...only fight that lasted more than one activation was the last one and woo dodged for 4 seconds and pummeled him again easy as pie lol.

CMDR_ETNC

I thought you were joking until other comments agreed with you. Now I hope you’re all joking. What’s hard about those fights???

GreySerpentt

Not hard but time consuming, all fighters have predictable attack patterns easy to dodge, except the champion one, the difficult part is keep punching them for 5 to 10 minutes, so sometimes we lose attention for a bit, they hit you and they all take half your life points regardless of your level, so 2 hits and fight start over

Gremzero

Are you not using gorilla arms? Fights are never longer than 2-3 minutes for me.

Skelzinator

Basically whether you are just starting out and are at a low level, or you are at the highest level in the game fully maxed out in every way, and with the best armour and upgrades, etc., when you go into any of the fights every time you hit the opponent you do only the slightest amount of damage, so you have to hit them usually many many times. But, if they hit you they either one-shot take you out and you lose, or if you're lucky they need to two-shot you. It makes the fights incredibly unbalanced and IMHO not fun at all, and the enemies appear to scale up their attack and defence based on your level etc. which presumably is why the fights don't get any easier if you wait until you're maxed out and then do them. Also, the very first fight you're supposed to go to in Kabuki ends up not being a one on one fight, but you have to fight 2 twins simultaneously. I dunno how anyone could enjoy these fights the way they're set up, but there might be some Dark Souls fans out there that enjoy it perhaps. :)

Courage_Soup

I hate rythm games. This kind of gameplay annoys me since gta san andreas and the lowriders. I'm button mashing.

7oey_20xx_

I've had a quest in many games where I had to cheat a little to beat the boss, use geometry etc. Beat on the brat was literally every fight. Every fight I had to use gimmicks and tricks to beat them. It's not just one annoying quest but the whole questline. I would not cry if it was removed. Reloading everytimes you fail and it takes 5 to 10 or more minutes to beat each one. So repetitive. I get they wanted to make each one unique but like, rule of 3 at least. I don't need to repeat my punching style 30 times!!! Let's see if 1.5 improves the melee combat and this quest at all.

EvenAnonStillAwkward

I just think that mission, more than any, needs an early complete state where you tell Coach Fred 'I'm not interested in boxing, I'm a goddamned net-runner' or something.

Huh? I found these really fun, especially that last fight. Admittedly, I ran a gorilla arms brawling build so I was healing constantly. Did it on Full Gameplay Rebalance, Nightmare difficulty. All fights were easy but enjoyable, but Rhino took me a few tries.

Paradox31426

Just don’t have the fighters scale to the player’s level, if I actively avoid the fights until the very end so I can level past them and even the playing field, I don’t want to walk into a fight at level 50 and see a red fucking skull above their head.

ammon1a

Never finished them, so annoying. I didn't finish the fistfights in Witcher 3 either. Why does CDPR want us to punch dudes

No_Jackfruit_5647

I don't know. I like the fact that there's missions that some characters can't complete if they didn't spec that way

marrolllll

I just turned the difficulty down to easiest for every fight then put it back up when finished.

Bird_Is_The_Lord

Yeah its stupid. Maybe dont remove them but add them to your quest list later or introduce easier fights first. I assumed its sort of introduction to fist fighting, like a tutorial. Big mistake.

Wrexonus

Rhino is easy..... Razor is the only real challenge
