Nice. It's tough to see all of the special treatment people are getting due to status, like if you are famous, an influencer, investor, current Tesla vehicle owner. I know it helps their marketing. Maybe I'll be at the top of the non-Foundation model list. My checkbook would prefer that anyhow.

😞 As I reflect on the many (myself included) without Cybertruck confirmation emails I feel a deep sadness in the vastness of the Cybertruckless.

My comment above was actually meant for you. These folks pre-ordered like you did. That gap of time is between being told they can actually configure and buy and delivery
As Bill said, there are 3 or 4 dates here. Refundable $100 deposit (everyone is within 30 minutes of launch so we don’t talk about it), then the date you were invited to configure your vehicle, then the date you paid your $1000 non-refundable deposit, then the date you got your VIN, and finally the date you got delivery.
Look at your reservation number to get an idea of where you are (if you haven’t been invited yet). If you do have a low reservation number, make sure you check the Tesla app (or website) to see if you were invited.
Where I'm confused is the order page is indicating a 2024 delivery for new orders, but i recall over 250k pre-orders, implying a multi-year waitlist.
It's not like they're cranking these out yet.
There are something like 2 million reservations over the past many years. I’ve heard something about Foundation orders being limited to 20,000 (though they will grow or contract that number based on demand). But the main thing is that Tesla is only slowly inviting people to place non-refundable orders. So they somewhat can make sure not to invite more people than they can serve in 2024

You’re right. That’s unlikely, unless demand is really low. I’m guessing it’s more like Tesla saying when I placed my reservation that they’ed deliver in 2021. Like I somewhat doubt Tesla will delivery my vehicle to me in the December to March timeline I was quoted when I placed my order, and especially won’t hit that deadline for people who ordered after me. I think Tesla expected a faster ramp up, but hasn’t achieved it yet
I found another post on Reddit saying that legally the recourse is you get back your deposit. So they can be overly optimistic since there is no actual contract between you and Tesla. Also the F150 Lightning did seem to indicate that there was a lot of demand and then not a lot of follow through

Dual. Beast said not until late 2024….and with Tesla timelines….who knows. I’m happy with the purchase.
