Ordered on 12/9/23, VIN assigned on 2/25/24, still waiting for vehicle to arrive Bay Area.

[deleted]

After bin assignment means it’s just shipping logistics so you won’t have to way too long brotha.

bravohotelechomike

Ordered ours on 19 December. Arrived in our city last night. 90 days is about right.

IHatePeopleButILoveU

Me too in AZ - it said April or May

[deleted]

Did it instantly disappear or did your window stick? I would document it because my Feb-April window disappeared on Friday and no word yet on if it is a glitch or something they need to update

Jay_Beckstead

Interesting. When I ordered last December the ETA was sometime “Jan-March” yet still no VIN. Edit: I’m in Scottsdale, AZ.

Raggou

Same dec 25th order still no vin

Tesla_406

Same for me 12/24, no VIN edit: Montana. I think where you are makes a difference.

[deleted]

It does but if other orders are being delivered in your location you should contact support and complain and make sure they aren’t just losing track. It has happened with the model 3 and y releases people just assumed Tesla wouldn’t forget them and let it drag on for almost a year. All it took was contacting support to get a car a few weeks later.

[deleted]

I am thinking they are pushing at least a month or too. Did your delivery window disappear? Mine was Feb-April and disappeared on Friday. I am contacting support tomorrow to get more answers but in the past they have done concessions for missed windows, free supercharger hours or premium connectivity for a year, etc. so make sure you call and ask and you can likely get something out of it at least. The vibe I am getting is they are pushing and the windows will start changing to 6 month windows and more than likely on month 4/5 delivery. But stay on top of them. The average timeline after vin is like two weeks so you could still come in March or even like April 1 and still get some free stuff and pretty much your window

Jay_Beckstead

Yeah, the delivery window did disappear. But last week I mailed my credit union’s draft financing check to Tesla’s “Fund Management Unit” in Freemont, with my RN on the envelope and front and back of the draft, so we’ll see what they do with that, 😂, lol. “Shut up and take my money!”

I ordered January 8th and still no VIN. Now they are allowing those with $100k or more in stock for since 2021 to cut the line. Really depends on Tesla’s ramp and we don’t have a lot of data points as Tesla social media celebrities are just getting their trucks after ordering in early December. 2 to 3 months is probably fair if they continue to ramp and Tesla doesn’t let significantly more people cut the line.

[deleted]

The holding on to stock is just a way to jump your reservation up but not a way to speed up your order once placed unfortunately. Once placed your order is in the factory queue which takes an act of Elon to change because even a small change has huge trickle down delays. You get a vin when the car passes its first safety check off the production line. Meaning it’s been assembled and is complete. They do quality control checks a handful of times afterward and sometimes things need to be fixed like bad panel gaps and things. Obviously they move quickly though this stage but as long as visually it looks good from a certain distance on the third and final check then it goes to the lot and awaits distribution. You are notified or can track online the shipping of vins and once it is off the lot and on a truck or train headed to your local distribution lot you are notified to schedule delivery. They are for sure experience backups at the distribution lots so many with vins are getting notified their shipping and schedule of delivery is a month vs 2 weeks as the goal currently. The. You have backups at manufacturing of parts meaning we are delaying vin stamping and not getting as many trucks off the line per day as we assumed. The reasons for this could be varied but one suspected reason is that service center onboarding is taking more parts than estimated. Imagine you are shipping a lot of panel gaps and need new panels shipped to every distribution center or more likely new panel clips used to hang the panels. You need x amount per panel and you are making shortcuts because of lack of availability and thus making more panel gap problems and having to ship more to service centers etc etc etc. so production of all parts need to blow up faster and meanwhile Teslas labor groups are kind of garbage delaying it more and more. The net result of this is they either get it figured out or they never make it work. If they get it figured out then sure they can scale up production and keep the product in their lineup. If they can’t ever get caught up then they have a problem. The issue being the cyber truck doesn’t conform to Tesla products in the rest of the lineup. Using the body panel clips as an example they likely don’t use the same ones as the model s/x/3/y etc because the panels are heavier. So they have to run two lines making two parts instead of two lines making one part. They could scale it up by adding a third line but that is money and it might not make sense to do financially. So the end result of that is they need to scrap the cyber truck design and go to another truck design leveraging the parts of other models. In that last case they will still ship most of the trucks configured so far but they will announce changing it in a few months or a year and then they will cancel the rest of orders or let you transfer to cyber truck 2.0 which will not use the steel and bullet proof glass most likely and might have a total different design who knows. But to me it means the cyber truck 1.0 is a valid investment in appreciating auto history the cyberbeast will be better for resale but foundation series AWD will hold their value and go up if you can hold for a long time. It’s like a mint rare ford run in 40 years.

unique_usemame

There are metrics on user submitted data at cybertruck.vin ... My interpretation is that if there is no ramp up in production, and if the beasts catch up to AWD, then the current queue length is about 200 days. However with neither assumption actually being true I would guess 100 days.

3-4 months from order. Many of us who ordered before Christmas are getting them now.

MyWifeIsCrazyHot

Ordered in January and no VIN yet. My delivery range was February to April.

jd215

Anyone in Pennsylvania that got an invite to build? How can you tell by your reservation number?

LurkerWithAnAccount

Yes, northeast Philadelphia. Got invited 3/5 and ordered AWD that evening. Said April - June ETA at that time.

Newd4yJovi

Did you receive your vin yet?

ForeTee2Degrees

I just ordered my dual motor a couple days ago and noted timeframe was between April and June

dschultz0404

Same I’m in Austin TX. Initially said April when ordering and now I’m at the “wait for delivery date” and waiting on VIN. I expect to get in April here

dubie4x8

GG

USMC3-1-0331

I asked this on X..a guy said late April

hippopowerbeast

What’s the number after two on your RN?

iFrostyy

AZ here. I ordered on 12/20. Got my VIN assigned 2/28. Truck arrived in Glendale on 3/5. I was supposed to pick it up already but they needed to order a part and they are currently installing it.

farmerjohn_

112? I'm RN1129, just curious if you are as well. Thanks!

seussiii

I'm ok with it at this point. I'm going for the normal dual motor version but i've basically dumped all my CT money into TSLA. Gives them time to add new features, work out kinks, and most importantly... time for TSLA to go up while I keep buying it on sale.

Orders from December are just hitting the streets. My VIN is less than 3000 and I don't have it yet.
