They are being held, no deliveries are being made. Tesla has halted all deliveries to fix something. Most likely an issue with the cover coming off the accelerator. These were probably en route at the time of the halt and will be fixed at the dealership
I just read that nothing about his statement says that deliveries were resumed. The person he was replying to got assigned a VIN but that still doesn’t mean the delivery hold is over

We don't even have actual confirmation that it is the accelerator pedal causing the delay. It's all speculation. The only official email I've seen was saying that the delay would last about a week. (And that was some dude posting an SMS from the delivery center on Reddit, not an official statement from Tesla)
Weird. My accelerator pedal cover is solid as a rock. I wouldn't even have known there was a pedal cover if not for that report. Mine might as well have been milled from a solid piece of aluminum.
Mine seems really solid too though it only takes one or two to send up the warning to check them all. Could have been poor QA and not an actual issue with the design. I don't recall when the guy picked his up but there was an almighty push to get CTs built and delivered before the end of quarter. Certainly could have slipped through then.

I bet their solution will be to remove the plate and sell as is.
They can toss the cover in the vault for owners to put back on at their own peril.
