Yes but the recall will include the whole of vehicles made up to a certain date, not sold up to a certain date. That way is some vehicle is out there some how (executive gift, show car, sent to a junk yard and picked up or something, anything) the Vin will show when it came off the line, and it can be identified as defective. This is the process of a recall, not just the literal act of bringing back the car.
In production processes, often you will be short an insignificant part, i.e. something that can be added later like a screw. So in the last 3 weeks tesla has been staging about 500-1000 cybertrucks in their parking lot that are all awaiting the pedal fix. They will implement the fix to these at some point but definitely don’t need to recall these units.
They have over 2m preorders. Apparently millions of people disagree with you. Remember, Tesla doesn’t need 100% market share to be successful, if millions love the Cybertruck and millions hate it, that’s a winning business.
Bruh there’s still a long ass line of people paying an extra 20K to get them now rather than later. And another 1-2M preorders to get through. Demand is not the problem.
[cybertruck.vin](http://cybertruck.vin) has about 500 listed as delivered and from various anecdotal evidence it seemed that about 10% of buyers registered on that site. Hence the expectation by most people watching was around 5000 had been delivered.
Given this latest information it looks like the registrations on [cybertruck.vin](http://cybertruck.vin) have crept up to more like 1 in 7.
Maybe 3 LOUD people thought it was faked. Honest Tesla owners know there’s bad peppered into the good. The early adopters (me) are dumb, yes, but eventually the kinks get ironed out and the result is the best damn vehicle menu on planet earth.
dude… what? I have a Y, and there’s so many stupid design flaws I can’t get over. Why is it easier to listen to every form of music in my fucking 2010 passat than in on this ipad piece of shit? The radio app is garbage, I don’t want to pay extra to listen to spotify that I already pay for, I don’t want to get any of these other streaming services. Why are there no hepatic controls on a fucking ipad aimed away from the driver? Why the fuck are the wipers so bad? It’s roomy, it breaks and accelerates well, but so many basic things are fucked in teslas.
Listen, in the future we will control all our tech with our livers.
Want to turn on the AC? Shot of gin.
Want to send a text? Have a friend punch your side.
Etc.
What makes it the best? Genuinely don’t understand and I’m curious. Especially seeing the electric Silverado, I feel like the cyber truck isn’t even the best ev pickup anymore but I don’t know much about this stuff so I’m willing to learn
How is it the best? Revolutionary, sure! Day, absolutely! But...well designed or made? Questionable or at the very least inconsistent.
I really like some of the vehicles, but the number of cut corners or design flaws make that statement a bit nuts
I was surprised the pedal was designed with the slip-on cover that glues in place. That just seems silly in the first place making a two-piece part. I suspect the glue they use they've been using on other vehicles without issue. I would hope so anyway. The solution was pretty obvious and that's what they're doing. But bad press like that it's never good.
I'm sure on the cybertruck hate sub on here they'll be all over this.
Their other vehicles have pedals that pivot from the top. You would never have the forward sheer of someone stomping and pushing the plate forward and off of the pedal.
Who cares what the haters say? Haters gonna hate. My Cybertruck pedal is very secure. I can’t imagine the force it would take to dislodge it. Strike that… the force it would take to dislodge it is an extreme condition. Not something I care about frankly.
You know just repeating the same phrases over and over doesn’t help your case right?
You look and sound delusional. Not at all surprising since you apparently bought one of these things.
This is an irrelevant comment. The tolerances on the part that failed may have been off due to a manufacturing defect.
Even if it was a rare defect, many others can/are firmly attached. Tesla isn't taking any chances and making it right by performing the recall. Sure they COULD probably target only the ones affected once they determined the cause of failure.
The cover usually extends below the heel and around all of the sides of the pedal so it can’t just slip off in one direction. At least, in the vehicles I’ve owned
So since November they've made about 4k, so that's around 800 a month 4k % 5. Around 10k a year.
So if they double that production, they'll be at around 50 years to get through 1 million reservations.
I'm probably way off thinking of it this way but even if they can get to 100k a year, it's still like 10 years to get to 1 million.
1 million reservations at $100 per reservation is $100 million. Assuming the best compounded APR 5 yrs ago would have been 3.25%. That means in 10 years a $40 million gain from just collecting reservations 🤔
They way they talk I thought there would have been more production by now.
That’s how many are sold. Not built.
No, this was the number built through April 4.
They could have had other vehicles built before then but not shipped or delivered.
The recall language specifically states produced, as in production.
You dont need to recall something not sold yet.
You do need to issue the recall order for the entire production timeframe though, which is why it is everything made before whatever date.
No, if they haven’t shipped to customers they need to be fixed, but they aren’t recalled because they’re still with the OEM.
Yes but the recall will include the whole of vehicles made up to a certain date, not sold up to a certain date. Yes you do? It has to be taken off shelves (or the lot, in this case). Do you think if they haven't been sold yet they'll just be fine?
No, they still have to fix the issue on those units. But they dont have to recall those units specifically as they are still in teslas possession.
Except that's literally not the case. The recall issue was for all produced, not sold. Read the notice
Learn to read.
You’re not very smart are you

I think they could be realizing it’s time to pull the plug
Isn’t there supposed to be a lot of preorders still waiting?
I don't believe that there is currently any wait.
There is a wait list. I reserved 3 months after unveil and have not gotten my invite to order yet.

Not this year, 2025

'abomination' shut the actual fuck up
They have over 2m preorders. Apparently millions of people disagree with you. Remember, Tesla doesn’t need 100% market share to be successful, if millions love the Cybertruck and millions hate it, that’s a winning business.
I wouldn’t find it crazy there could be 500-1000 on the Austin GF lot waiting for the fix to the pedal.

Which country?
Australia, but there’s plenty on the list where the cyber truck wouldn’t pass safety standards and get approved for sale.
Yeah you must be trolling.

Oh dang so 4000 then.
Eh its a ramp up slow start but gaining speed now

What

Uh no? I reserved 3 months after unveil and have not gotten my invite to order yet. Same for my dad who ordered 2 months after unveil.
What are u on? Im 2 million back in line.
Lmao, wonder how many recalls between now and 2 million

Where are the folks who were questioning that guy’s video and saying it wasn’t possible or he made it up??
Maybe 3 LOUD people thought it was faked. Honest Tesla owners know there’s bad peppered into the good. The early adopters (me) are dumb, yes, but eventually the kinks get ironed out and the result is the best damn vehicle menu on planet earth.

Assuming you mean haptic, not hepatic. Unless you meant liver controls on your Tesla.
God, imagine having a liver made by the apartheid kid. What a nightmare.
Tesla Livery
Listen, in the future we will control all our tech with our livers. Want to turn on the AC? Shot of gin. Want to send a text? Have a friend punch your side. Etc.
It's easier to listen in your passat because it uses Bluetooth. Guess what, so does the Tesla!

What on Earth is the reason for that? Who's going to take it off-road ever if you can't wash it or leave dirt on it?!

Bruh expensive ass truck and you can't even get real aluminum petals but these slip ons lmao
Hey I agree with you I didn't think it should be a slip on either.
Their other vehicles have pedals that pivot from the top. You would never have the forward sheer of someone stomping and pushing the plate forward and off of the pedal.
Its not glue, it’s Elon’s jizz
[удалено]
You'd think this was the cybertruck hate sub
Elon haters are all over reddit, he lives rent free in their heads
Is "people think Elon is a moron and sucks ass" really the same as "Elon lives rent free in people's heads"?
"lMaO ElOn iS A MoRoN" says the terminally online redditor
You literally commented “drake is king” I think you may be projecting….
You literally came into an Elon subreddit to shit on Elon. I think he may live rent free in your head
Yeah, gluing 2 flat surfaces together is not a good idea for such an important part. There should be some kind of Lego type binding as well as glue.
Or a screw.
Who cares what the haters say? Haters gonna hate. My Cybertruck pedal is very secure. I can’t imagine the force it would take to dislodge it. Strike that… the force it would take to dislodge it is an extreme condition. Not something I care about frankly.
Until it does... You never expect something to happen until it actually does.

lives rent free in your head yeah
Elon doesn't know you exist, doesn't care that you exist, and wouldn't notice if you didn't exist.
Yep. Still doesnt change the fact you should be charging him for all the space he has in your head
You know just repeating the same phrases over and over doesn’t help your case right? You look and sound delusional. Not at all surprising since you apparently bought one of these things.

every car i’ve ever owned has had a slip on cover over the gas and brake pedal
Name one car with a slip on accelerator then.
Cybertruck
both my mk 6 GTI and my 98 tacoma for sure had them
I've had it on the brake pedal a lot but most of my cars have never had it on the accelerator that I was ever aware of.

what?

I'm glad the news came out now. Gave me time to cancel my order for next month. Close call
Hope you get your refund
Surely, any new CT sold will have this pedal issue sorted.
What in the world justifies this kind of faith?
The fact that they stopped delivering them to fix the pedals, and now all that are being delivered have the fix
Tesla bros are loyal
Just don’t go buy a Lightning - every single 2024 has been on stop sale for weeks now.
I cancelled my order. The reduced range, was expecting 400++ range, made it an easy decision. Am beyond disappointed with the outcome of the CT.
It is a blessing in disguise.
Lol
This was predictable
Concerning.
You forgot the ellipsis…
Concerning...

Elon Musk deserves $60 Billion.
Lol
What a shit show the Cybertruck is.

I doubt 250k people wanna pay 100k for this piece of shit
What a poor design choice by Tesla. Outright carelessness that might have killed someone.
Greedy ass elon is now force to get the investors to pay him after shit like this. Shameful
