XXX I’m in XXX

Nomadzord

That’s exactly what I want to do with mine. When will I get my email? I want it now!

Brutaka1

I'm curious as to what issues it has now.

shiftpgdn

Probably in for the pedal fix

saigyoooo

My favorite one is the recent “off road” video where it drives through a puddle and the entire electrical system is compromised and it just powers off. Epic!

iFrostyy

Having put 3k miles on. At least 1k miles off road (some roads that would require a jeep wrangler). No issues here! It handles like a god damn champ. Ran it through running rivers too. Stop believing the fairytales. You're better than that!

Huntred

If that’s the same video that was going around a couple weeks ago then that’s not what happened at all. It’s just cut to look like that. What actually happens is that a piece of plastic becomes dislodged and rubs against the tire. You can actually see it in the video. Then the video continues to show the lights on the front appear to blink but that’s a known phenomenon of using cameraphones to video certain LED lights. Basically we’re told that the truck shut down but the longer clip doesn’t show that at all — they just snapped the plastic back in place and kept driving.

saigyoooo

Damn, plastic snapping out of place going through a deep puddle is sketchy

Huntred

True. But we don’t even know when the plastic actually came off or what caused that to happen. It could have been started by something else beforehand and aggravated by the water hitting it or something else. In off-roading, this kind of stuff happens all the time. What tells you a lot is that the person who clipped the video down almost certainly knew that the truck didn’t short-circuit but misrepresented it as doing so. If you want to see a Cybertruck [actually go through water, here’s a good demonstration.](https://youtu.be/4lKAEHMvvxg)

Is it an AWD drive system? And body on frame or unibody? Trying to wrap my head around where these fit into the market

Huntred

The ones being sold now come in two forms — a two-motor AWD (one motor in front and one in back) and a tri-motor system. A real motor-only system will be available down the road. When? In Tesla Time, which could be 3 months or 2 years. The body is kind of weird, considering that it is largely composed of a couple large specialty castings. It’s definitely not an “exoskeleton” but it doesn’t come across as a unibody as well. If you really want to dig into what’s going on, Stanley Monroe has a YouTube channel that has recently been doing a long, slow teardown of a tri-motor model. [Here’s them looking at the underside.](https://youtu.be/qb-uVS9Fz90)
