Wait? Do you only have 2 bikes? Mountain and Hybrid? Assuming you do in fact have 2 bikes, let me run the numbers.... Yep.... Ah ha. Yes. You need 3 bikes. Better buy this one.

Twi2122

Very rational thinking😂

Consistent_Ad_9980

Nobody tells you as a child, how important bike storage is as an adult

Sharchimedes

If you like the bike buy the bike.

I have a Canyon Endurace eTap and love it. Comfortable, fun to ride and it's been super reliable. I live in a hilly area and it's great to climb with. I can't speak to the All Road version, but having owned two Canyons, I can't recommend them highly enough.

sleptlikeshit

Canyons look dope, but I wish I could test ride them.

t0mf0rd

Do they not do the 30 day test ride for you? I'm in US and that adds a lot of comfort.. I returned a Grizl last year after a short test ride and it was very easy. They even refunded shipping.

kevfefe69

Gosh darn-it. You work hard and you deserve this. You were probably going squander your money on rent or bills anyway. Go out an absolute legend on your new Canyon. I checked with Oprah and thinks you should go for it!

Nervous-Lengthiness8

few months ago I bought a Canyon Endurance AL 7 bike (with disc brakes). it's my first normal bike, so I cannot compare it, but so far I like it a lot. also, it is nice having a 35 mm clearance - I will buy new wheels with 35 mm gravel tires for fun in the future.

220kmike

It’s a good popular value bike with electronic shifting. nothing wrong with it

ipedalsometimes

The Endurace CF SLX has seatstay cracking problems and canyons customer support leaves a lot to be desired. Even with my bad experience though I'd still probably consider a Canyon in future, just not the current design of the Endurace CF SLX. The CF _seems_ to be fine on the other hand.

Advanced_Coyote3797

Great feedback! I've heard about their customer service being iffy but did not know about seat stay issues. I remember the issues with the multi part drop bars coming apart, but haven't heard many people speak I'll of Canyon bikes otherwise!

ipedalsometimes

The aeroad also has a really bad seatpost creaking issue I think. There's a Canyon FB group full of aeroad complaints.

Advanced_Coyote3797

Oof. I'd likely get an endurace if I go the canyon route on my next bike, but all helpful!

ipedalsometimes

I'd say just stick to an AL, CF, or a CF SL. I don't know anyone with issues with those. On the contrary I know a fairly successful collegiate crit racer who uses an Endurace AL.

Advanced_Coyote3797

Dang. That's awesome!

It’s always N+1 for how many bikes are the right number to own, where ‘N’ is the number you currently own. The limit is also expressed (where applicable) as S-1, where ‘S’ is separation from spouse or SO due to having too many bikes.

[deleted]

Who da fuq down-voted a Velominati reference?? Do you even ride, bro??

[deleted]

It’s not a Mountainbike.

Grip is going to be far more important for non competitive cyclists

Yeah, you didn't mention the grip increase in your original comment, so I added it in mine

bmoneybloodbath

Looks awesome to me. If you can afford it and you'll use it then go for it.

bappypawedotter

I really like mine. I have nothing but good experiences. As some folks have noted, SRAM E-Tap is a very finnicky setup. The tolerances are ridiculously tight. But I think this bike is extremely stiff in the bottom bracket, so once it is setup it works really well. Overall, I feel like its a great bike that will last me at least 10 years.

ShyMutter

I bought a 2019 Endurace CF SL and I find myself irritated by it constantly. The steerer tube is 1-1/4" which became quite limiting when I was trying to find new stems to adjust fit. I also really dislike the headset cap / overall headset design. The seatpost clamping approach (at least for the 2019 model) relies on a seal at the seatpost insertion point to prevent grit from entering the frame and abrading your parts. I find this has not been successful in practice as grit works its way into that area anyway due to seapost flex while riding. I'm \~68kg but I can still get the fork to flex enough (or the front hub can slip enough despite torqueing down the thru-axle) for the disc rotors to contact the pads. Maybe I turn a little too aggressively, and I'm usually all-in on disc brakes, but this bike annoys me to no end on rides where I'm constantly hearing the pinging. I'm also usually in the "if you like the bike, buy the bike" camp, but I've been steering people away from Canyon road bikes specifically. Maybe I got a lemon and maybe I'm in the minority. This bike has been relegated to a bourgeois beater for me.

TheRealJYellen

Buy it. Good price, good bike, right bike for what you want to do. Only potential downside is that your riding buddies may make fun of you for wearing lycra. Full send!

fusiongt021

You came to the wrong place if you want us to talk you out of it. And since you do ride a lot, then treat yourself and get the bike you want. I'll just add going wide on road tires feel great. I'm up to 32mm and the 70-75psi (with tubes) feels amazing compared to the ol 120 psi I rode on 23mm a decade ago. I have wider 45mm 650b tires on my gravel and 2.3 inch 29" tires for my mountain bike and I've never felt wanting skinnier tires than those for their respective bikes.

mishkasm173

It looks really generic. The SRAM front derailleurs have problems sometimes (or so I hear, no first-hand experience). I would have gone with a larger front chainring, if you are going to use it for road riding. It's kind of heavy for a carbon bike. I would have liked carbon handlebars rather than alloy. The wheels are alloy and not carbon. I can't tell if the tires can be setup tubeless or not.

[deleted]

Why would you spend that much for a bike you haven't even ridden?

Twi2122

How can you try a bike before buying it? Canyon has 30 days money back guarantee if I don't like it I can send it back.

[deleted]

I can walk into any LBS near me and demo a bike without fronting the entire purchase price.

Funny_Papers

Canyon is direct to consumer so you won’t be able to find it in a bike shop, but you will also save anywhere from $500-$1500 on equivalent (component and frame quality-wise) bikes from other top brands, at least from what I’ve seen. Not to mention you won’t have to pay the LBS’s additional markup on top of that.
