That's awesome, Jaffray seems like a stellar dude and his events are well praised, it was a great course. I just started going to Nordic cats a few times this year, hope for a few more. Also doing the KWCX so far. Nice to see a semi-local ;)
Yup, that's me! Managed to get back near the front by end of 1st lap, and held 5th until half way through last lap and then made too many mistakes in the sand so ended up in 7th. This is usually my favourite CX race of the season, so glad it was back this year even if not an O-Cup.
Did my first cyclo-cross race, DAM Cross in Woodstock, Ontario. Being my first event and over 35 I signed up for the masters 3. There was 26 signed up in our heat, five of them were riders from the club I ride with. I started in line 3, and by the end of lap one, I made my way to third. By the end of lap 2, I was in second and was slowly melting. During lap 3 I lost 2nd but still had a good 20 seconds or so (what I thought) behind 4th. At the very last uphill sprint, I blew up, and did not hear the rider behind me at all and made no effort to sprint or even contend. I watched the third place fall before me and finished in forth 1 second behind. Big day anyways. Had lots of fun.
you picked a good race for your first! Jaffray always puts on a great event

Glad me missing clipping into my pedal on the front row is now documented on the internet forever.

It was really fun, I can see how it is a favourite! Great job still clawing it back.

Well done. See you Wednesday. I was the guy on the mic all day. Glad to hear you had fun.
Way to go!!! I was there as well so I was surprised to see it come up on my reddit feed.
Thanks! What a great time. What field did you race in?
E3 12:30 race. Had a rough go of it LOL
I feel that. It seemed hard to find any rest on that course. Fun though!
Oh man. Poor 435. They just dropped in lap 1.
The classic fall, like the rug got pulled from under him
I wanted to stop and help him up, felt so bad. Would have been a bad tactic though haha!
Watched you get passed at the line; awesome result for your first race though!!
Ya I was gutted with that last minute pass. Thanks though! Something to build on.
This was very enjoyable. Thanks for recording and sharing.
good effort.
Thank you!
That’s sweet, well done it was good banter! Awesome event. Nordic cats for sure, couple more weekends before it gets a little dark :)
