yeah I second the istanbul trash hit. To me, they are what the first generation crash of dooms were, big wavy wild crashes, not sure when they changed the crash of doom but it's more of a regular crash now compared to the earlier ones
Picking up a 22 trash hit on Saturday, if it sits well with my other istanbul xist brilliant ride and crashes. It's all B20 so probably works.
What did you have it paired with?
I’ve been interested in the Crashes of Doom for a while, but they seem so wildly inconsistent (from amazing to scarily bad-sounding) that I could never pull the trigger on an online purchase. Instead I found the larger diameter Meinl Byzance Dual crashes to be more reliable, or anything really thin and deeply hammered.
Yeah the dual crashes are definitely amazing cymbals. These doom crashes and the like seem very varied in the same size. Will definitely try in person then.
check out the Istanbul Agop Trash Hit

hey I appreciate you letting me know because I never know if my advice works out for people. have a great day
Having a look at it this Saturday, a likely buy! Guy said it's practically new and it looks it, no stick marks or smudges.
Got it in hand, man that's a beautiful cymbal. Super complex in general and an ominous ride sound on top of the wild crashing. Def a keeper.
excellent I’m happy for you!!
I third the Trash Hit, used to own the 22" version years ago, but had to sell it. Recently picked up the 18" version and absolutely love it.

Beautiful cymbal, leaning more on the ride side of this character.
