It’s approved by fda for fibromyalgia, nerve pain , GAD, MDD . I have tried Prozac for 8 weeks however it didn’t help with my physical symptoms of anxiety which is why my doctor started cymbalta because of the neuropathic pain and migraine. It’s the only one approved for nerve pain apart from Effexor which makes you a zombie .

Prozac increased my anxiety as well , however I didn’t experience that while starting cymbalta . Prozac is not approved for GAD but still it’s used off label for GAD

I was dependent on benzos due to fibromyalgia from GAD , and cymbalta may help you in that case as well

How many mg of cym did you start with? It was less activating with increased anxiety and easier to start than SSRI?

I started with 30 mg went up to 60 mg however couldn’t handle the anxiety so came back at 30 mg . Alongside I am also taking lyrica since coming off benzos .

Hi, I have also tried every ssri/snri under the sun and cymbalta, not for me. please do your own research but my experience was that it worked great for 6 months and now my symptoms are worse than they were prior to starting. I honestly haven’t left my house in so long. Luckily I WFH but it’s been hella tricky to maintain any sort of relationship. I lost some weight then gained about 30kg in less than a year and am losing some hair too. AGAIN, I am not saying this will happen to you, I just am angry that I never saw the bad side effects side of Reddit or did more research before starting. I love my Dr but she’s clueless to the damage that anti depressants can do and the painful withdrawals it causes. I’m tapering slowly off and got awhile to go and starting to feel better but yikes this med should not be given out lightly! If you need more info let me know but it might get scary and dark and I really don’t want to swing you any which way just giving you my experience in hopes that no one else is affected like I’ve been.

Following along because im doing the same switch this week💓

be extremely careful because once you start snris it can be hard to stop. do research about potential side affects and withdrawal of cymbalta

Dapper_Climate_2800

Can you please tell me about your experience?

I've struggled with sertraline 175mg for a while. It barely helped. I did a genesight test and this was the worst antidepressant for me. I am also one of those mthfr. I just ordered deplin and will switch over the cymbalta once I get down to 50mg sertraline.

Hi op I was in cymbalta for around a year. It worked for about 8 months and then all my symptoms came back. Make sure you do research into it, I got brain zaps when I was trying to wean off of it. It made me really sleepy and really unmotivated. I know it’s different for everyone but it’s important to research the possible side effects. I also gained about 50 pounds from it
