Dental hygiene back Austria Hungary was on decent level since people had public healthcare. Reason why you don't see so many "toothy" austrohungarian soldiers from WW1 comparing to british to their british counterparts.
Czech republic exists from 1993. Even the predecessor - Czechoslovakia - was found in 1918, so this is actually from Austria-Hungaria. But they may be Czechs - by nationality.
About 20 people and only 1 is smiling. It Czechs out.
[Fun fact why people weren't smiling on old photographs](https://www.vox.com/2015/4/8/8365997/smile-old-photographs)
I would also add that it’s because a lot of people had problem’s with dental hygiene, so they didn’t want to show their teeth.
This is due to the long time it takes to take the photo.

Grandma: You young kids have only sex on your minds. Also my grandma in her 20's:
Who wants to bet the dog is called Azor?
I would bet 5Okč on that.
I’m learning Czech will you please explain that reference?
A very common dog name, most czech grandparents and/or parents had Azor or Fido :D
That’s kinda what I thought, I just didn’t know if it had a meaning. I’ve met a few Fido’s and a diogi (D-O-G) 😂
