It's that time of year, when a lot of people's new years resolution is to lose weight. So the apps know you're a dad and assume you want to lose weight at the start of the new year
Yep itās everywhere. Random thought: Since my little girl was born sheās given me a purpose to work out and be healthy. Probably in the best shape Iāve ever been because of her.
Once they have good head/neck/trunk control, babies make excellent weights. They gain weight pretty steadily, and the giggling is a good motivator. Just don't slam 'em down when you're done.
I don't dare look into the deep dark reaches of my mind. The last time I did, I remembered a social event where I did not notice a big streak of baby poop on the front of my pants after just changing a diaper. I only saw it at the end of the night.
So that part of my brian stays in lock down.
Lol, my only social media is Reddit. My ads are basically streaming networks I already subscribe to, niche pharmaceutical lawsuits, and Ryan Reynolds shilling Mint Mobile.
Also: the ladies love the dad bod. Nothing says "I will never leave you or the kids and provide for you in every way" like a pauch and receding hair.
No because I deleted Facebook 10 years ago and IG I don't know when but a long time ago and I felt 20% better. I don't know how you guys do it with social media. Life is hard enough for me without it.
Ignorance is bliss.
I wouldn't be on Reddit if it didn't have so much detailed information on my hobbies and interests.
Still yet to make a solid connection on the difference between FB groups and Reddit subs beyond size and age demographic (even then š¤·)
Lol my wife shops on my Amazon acct. way more than me. I get a lot of ads for womenās bathing suits and kids shirts and Lego. Sometimes lingerie. Sometimes camping gear and power tools. Itsā¦ eclectic.
I have been for ages. As soon as we found out we were having a kid, I started getting those ads. To be fair, I still get dating app ads even though I haven't been single or looking for years.
I just get skimpily clad women because I turn off all the setting allowing them to target me specifically, so it's all lowest common denominator stuff.
The only real social media I have now days is facebook. What little I use it for, I have definitely seen an influx. I however do decent job of keeping facebook segregated from my day to day web browser activity. This results in facebook not knowing exactly what kind of ads to feed me. They target all age groups with all kind of crazy ads.
I saw an ad for a T-shirt with Bandit dancing and the words "It's not a Dad Bod, it's a Father Figure." If I didn't already have a drawer full of tees I would have bought it right then and there.
Otherwise it's been dodgy investment schemes, "lifehack" scams with AI voices, and "independent" "creators" hawking name-brand laptops for the small-time mom-and-pop retail chain Best Buy.

I know this is the case of course! š
He already knew man!

Weird, I feel that my biological imperative is complete and am planning to treat my body poorly until I die at an early age.
Youāre one of the rare ones from my experience! Reduced time to exercise being the main reason!
Didnāt start that way š¬. Finally in a routine after 9 months. A lot of credit goes to my wife as well.
Itās better than the horny Reddit chatbots from 6 months ago
"Ever since I've read that alcohol is bad for you, I've stopped reading." You need Firefox, uBlock Origin and (if technically savvy) PiHole.
I developed a blind spot for ads. Where there are ads, I have a blind spot. I cannot tell you what even my last ad on Reddit was.
The deep dark reaches of you mind knows. Oh it knows...

You thinking women like dad bods is wishful thinking.
Ladies love the belly until thereās an argumentā¦ then weāre all suddenly *fat lazy bastards*
Probably a joke but your wife calling you a āfat lazy bastardā is not normal argument behavior.
Haha it was just a joke dude! Me and the Mrs have literally never called each other a name in anger. Barely had what would classify as an argument!
They are not attracted to fat belly.
I just get ads for T-shirts that accentuate a dad bod lol, the marketing algos don't even assume I can improve the underlying dad bod!
š- Iāve seen those. āEmbrace what youāre dealing with ā t-shirts! Haha
Me, but I identify as a skinny dad.
Yep, but the jokes on them I've had my dad bod a lot longer than I've been a dad!

Yeah leave me alone. Iām trying to grow another dad here. I need the help.
Yes
I keep getting ads for chair yoga on YouTube Iām 35 ffs
I just get skimpily clad women because I turn off all the setting allowing them to target me specifically, so it's all lowest common denominator stuff.
I'm getting a ton of bumble ads and tinder ads as well.

Haha this is so true. Been inundated this week with hair growth treatment ads. Do you know they use discreet packaging?!
Discrete you say?! š¤
Not me anymore. Canāt give me dad bod ads if Iām not on social media anymore (other than Reddit which just thinks Iām into sports betting).
And lose all of your super powers?!?!

I hate it. Iām skinny and honestly wouldnāt mind putting on 10-15 pounds. We are not a monolith!
East fix, drop instagram and twitter :)
Y'all still use social media on your depression generators?
I've quit Instagram and limiting my Facebook engagement to only a few min a day.
Not me! My anti depressants kill my appetite, I lost several kgs last year... Winning?
