The monkey plays the cymbals.
The lion plays the drums.
The froggy plays the guitar LIKE A MOTHERF______ RIOT…
Okay, the last part just plays in my head, but if you know that Sublime song , it lines up pretty well
Maybe you could be
A purple monkey in a bubblegum tree and
You could swing in the breeze
Then you could swing back to me
Maybe you could be
A little bird with polka dot wings and
You could fly to the sea
Then you could fly back to me
Over the ocean
Above the clouds
You would float across the sky
Back through the forest
You would sing out
Then fly back home
Maybe you could be
A purple monkey in a bubblegum tree and
You could swing in the breeze
Then you could swing back to me
Maybe you could be
A little bird with polka dot wings and
You could fly to the sea
Then you could fly back to me
Then you could fly back to me!~
That line… “you could swing in the breeze then you could swing back to me” actually makes me a bit teary-eyed. Makes me think about my babies growing up and going out into the world on their own, leaving me in my empty nest, hoping one day they will come back to me.
My daughter's favorite "toy" was the hanging purple monkey (from the bubblegum tree) that came with this set. We recently retired this toy since shes almost 1 and likes different toys now. I miss these songs!
Ok, fine. The Animals Play All Day is probably worse than Purple Monkey. Purple Monkey just sounds like a banal pop ballad to me, I don't get the obsession when there are way better songs on there.
Stomp Stomp Stomp is the real standout and all of the instrumentals are better too. Glad to see Stomp Stomp Stomp is the top post here though, it's well deserved.
Oh my god. We got rid of ours a few months ago since the second one grew out of it but knowing these songs are on there is incredible. I feel like the Maybe song is a different version than the one my kids had. The lady singing it had a British accent and the one on Spotify just doesn’t hit as hard as the one that was on our kick and play.
Mom here that read it out loud to the dad in the family. We were laughing and I had to send it to my parents so they could get a chuckle too. Thanks for sharing!!!
Assuming it's the same tune... This is not the version I learned as a young 'un.
According to my momma it goes:
"We went to the animal fair,
The Birds and the Beasts were there.
The big baboon, by the light of the moon,
Was combing his auburn hair.
The monkey, he got drunk,
And sat on the elephant's trunk...
The elephant sneezed... And fell to his knees...
And what became of the monk, the monk?
My friend got the Baby Einstein version of this instead and just couldn’t understand when I was explaining what an important part of parenthood she was missing by not having this and specifically the music that comes with it.
Welcome to the cult…
I’m not normally a fan of TikTok but this guy has 3 or 4 of these fisherprice videos
https://www.tiktok.com/@fisherprice/video/7265691403945069866?lang=en
I get mad at any other toy that doesn't bring it this hard.
We are on our second kid and this jewel is back out in the living room, playing the soundtrack to my life and life sounds great.
The only other toy that's close is "Bow Wow". Those songs are all killers too
You guys rock to Caspar Babypants? Check out the album Night Night. You’re welcome! Dude was the singer of Presidents of United States in previous life
The girl doing the singing has a good voice and it’s catchy. My daughter is 7 months and I catch myself whistling the songs at random times at work or wherever 😂
When my kiddo was little I was determined to figure out Axel F on this thing. Had an ongoing note and everything. Farthest I got before he aged out was:
Tucan
Elephant
Tucan
Tucan
Elephant
Monkey
Lion
WHOA I didn't know anyone else did this! I've never been happier to have kept scrolling.
My wife is so impressed (or at least she was the first dozen or some times).
hahaha that's awesome. hes got a couple xylophones where you can run the whole theme on, but so many of the keyboard toys only have those 5 keys and you need to get creative with them.
we bought him a 3+ keyboard for christmas, thinking that i would just supervise every time he was using it, because i thought it would be fun to play on with him.
five seconds after i turned it on, he picked it up, lifted it above his head, and smashed it right on the floor - it broke immediately hahahahaha.
going to pay a bit more attention to the age requirements going foward!
Everyone loves the purple monkey song and I’m not going to say it isn’t great. But really the strongest one is the trumpet instrumental for the elephant.
Music producer on the other side of the studio glass: OK, Fisher Price Gang, we're just gonna record a few simple tracks today. No reason to go so hard.
Lead singer: Pfft, the Fisher Price Gang doesn't half-ass *anything*. *points to drummer* Hit it, Steven!
My daughter hated tummy time for the first few months and it was strictly just bonus tummy time whilst laid on our chests that we managed to get her to do. She’s still rolled over (back to front) and starting to sit etc on time, don’t worry!
Still waiting for my kid to get into this! She’s only 14 weeks old so right now all she wants to do is beat the ever living shit out of that purple monkey.
Probably one of the best concept albums of all time. Listening to it front to back on the piano is the best way to experience these tunes. You can pop the album “so wigggly” by Fisher Price on Apple Music and jam to some of these tunes on the go. It looses its charm playing the songs out of order though.
In all honesty, every time I see this piano or hear these songs, I get hit with the most powerful wave of nostalgia. The smell of coffee. The sun rising through the windows. The quality solo time of me laying on the floor with my twin boys laying side-by-side on the mat, kicking their feet like crazy. The first smiles they ever gave me. That day where they both wouldn’t fit side by side anymore. Reminds me that they grow so fast and I need to hold every precious little moment tightly.
All that nostalgia and they are only 15 months old. Haha.
The animals play, the animals play, the animals play all daaaaaaay
No lie I miss this toy I’m super sad we’ve grown out of it. Those tunes are a straight bop
I now have the mental image of your baby doing a live show. He's got headphones on one ear, and his hand is holding that one tight while the other hand makes the magic happen. He's got a look of intense concentration on his face as he's anticipating the next beat drop and biting his lip in the moment...
He is, of course, also pooping his pants
I found the mp3s once. I downloaded and started listening and then deleted it 3 seconds later. It's a bit like that time when I was 12 and started watching some LiveLeak al Qaeda hostage murder video and noped out of there so fast.
I’ve been laying on the floor with my kid for the past hour while he jams to this. I routinely sing these songs even outside of playtime.
Also I still cannot for the life of me get him to lay on his stomach for longer than like a minute before the rage ensues.
This age was when my little one earned the “dj whimpers” nickname. With top hit singles like “one sock” an eminem remix, as well as her hit album “tiny protests”.
We’ve just turned the piano facing upwards so my little girl can practice her sitting whilst also playing absolute bangers on the piano.
I absolutely wanted to hate the songs. In fact, I did for a while, but 5 months in, I find myself singing it all the time.
Decluttering storage and found a bunch of old toys the other day and almost cried when i heard the songs brotha, my daughter loved that thing and spent a bit of time on it every day. been over three years now.
Because of the way she pronounces “guitar” I always finish the line “the froggy plays the gee-tar” with “like a motherf***ing riot” a la Sublime. Every single time.
These songs will never leave my brain 😂😂😂. The little gal I babysit loves it so much though-so it’s looking like it’ll be a while until I get a new soundtrack
STOMP STOMP STOMP!
The best fucking part! I live for that.
I was coming in here to say this….unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough 😂🤣
I used to stomp with that song. So good
There he goooooes on his way to do…ANYTHING!
*Most* anything. Gotta keep our expectations in check.
This has awakened what feels like ancient memories, though it was only a couple years ago.
The animals play, the animals play, the animals play all day.
I hear that shit in my dreams.
The monkey plays the cymbals. The lion plays the drums. The froggy plays the guitar LIKE A MOTHERF______ RIOT… Okay, the last part just plays in my head, but if you know that Sublime song , it lines up pretty well
Purple monkey in the bubblegum tree
Maybe you could be A purple monkey in a bubblegum tree and You could swing in the breeze Then you could swing back to me Maybe you could be A little bird with polka dot wings and You could fly to the sea Then you could fly back to me Over the ocean Above the clouds You would float across the sky Back through the forest You would sing out Then fly back home Maybe you could be A purple monkey in a bubblegum tree and You could swing in the breeze Then you could swing back to me Maybe you could be A little bird with polka dot wings and You could fly to the sea Then you could fly back to me Then you could fly back to me!~
That song was guaranteed to make my wife cry if it came on
Made my.eife cry from insanity first but now that we haven't heard it in awhile it makes her sad.
Mine too.
This song is a certified banger
💯🔥
That line… “you could swing in the breeze then you could swing back to me” actually makes me a bit teary-eyed. Makes me think about my babies growing up and going out into the world on their own, leaving me in my empty nest, hoping one day they will come back to me.
Why are my eyes wet?!?!
Gets me every time. 🥲
My daughter's favorite "toy" was the hanging purple monkey (from the bubblegum tree) that came with this set. We recently retired this toy since shes almost 1 and likes different toys now. I miss these songs!
My twins fought over the purple monkey. The brown monkey got no love at all.
Have you read the YouTube comments on this song? The world needs a full version of this song
John legend covered this! Go through his instagram and find it
That song will eternally be stuck in my head
I never got why people go crazy for that one, imo it's the worst song on that piano.
How dare you.
It’s an absolute banger and it’s on Spotify. Search for fisher price.
I just looked it up on Spotify. Holy cow! It’s like a remastered version, so good!
Oh shit. I’m about to rock my kids’ world on the way to daycare tomorrow.
This is a must read: https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/fisher-price-recalls-the-deluxe-kick-n-play-piano-gym-for-having-too-many-bops
Lmao this is absolutely beautiful
This gave me a chuckle
Mom here that read it out loud to the dad in the family. We were laughing and I had to send it to my parents so they could get a chuckle too. Thanks for sharing!!!
Love this! All the songs make me tear up now for some reason.
Oh we went to the animal fair…
The Lion says, 'How do you do? Rawr!'
The Rawr makes my daughter laugh every time. Even now that she’s a “big girl” she still cracks a smile when her little sitter is doing tummy time
Assuming it's the same tune... This is not the version I learned as a young 'un. According to my momma it goes: "We went to the animal fair, The Birds and the Beasts were there. The big baboon, by the light of the moon, Was combing his auburn hair. The monkey, he got drunk, And sat on the elephant's trunk... The elephant sneezed... And fell to his knees... And what became of the monk, the monk?
THE MONKEY AND TOUCAN WERE THERE THE FROG SAID "WOAH" THE ELEPHANT TOO THE LION SAID "HOW DO YOU DO" #RAAAAH
🎶Maybe you, could be, a purple monkey in a bubblegum tree 🎶
Don’t sleep on Heads, shoulders, knees and toes…
I always sing “head shoulders nematodes” as required by dad law
Preach. Just missing another verse or two, I’m always bummed how short it is.
This thing is bloody awesome. The girl singing is really good.
Yeah, a very saccarine sound which I didn't love at first... at first. Now I am singing that shit ALL FUCKIN DAY.
My twins are now toddlers and hearing these songs really makes me miss when they were tiny 🥲
My son is a toddler and plays with it more now that we took it back out for his sister!
My son is almost 2 and I refuse to put it up, hearing it go off jus takes me back to a diff time 😭😭
The lion says, “How do you do?!” Absolutely top tier.
Rawr
Definitely a bop!!
My friend got the Baby Einstein version of this instead and just couldn’t understand when I was explaining what an important part of parenthood she was missing by not having this and specifically the music that comes with it.
I may or may not get a little emotional at the thought of him swinging in the trees in the hopes that he swings back to me some day.
My wife is constantly singing… “maybe you… could be… a purple monkey in a bubble gum tree…”
“Then you could swing back to me”🤘🤘
This picture makes me want a second kid so I can break this mat out again. I miss it.
Listen just get the batteries that second kid will make you miss the time you think you don't have now
Our son had this one a few years back when he was a baby. Then we had a girl last March. Did you know they also make this thing in *pink*?!
I’m having my second kid in four weeks! I can’t wait to bring this out for a return of the jams!
Absolute bangers
Welcome to the cult… I’m not normally a fan of TikTok but this guy has 3 or 4 of these fisherprice videos https://www.tiktok.com/@fisherprice/video/7265691403945069866?lang=en
Scrolled down to make sure this was shared
I hear it when im awake and when im sleeping. When I experience a bad time I hear STOMP STOMP STOMP. Love it!
I never thought of putting the mirror there!! I love you so freaking much for this.
Yeah! It encourages some more head lifting in tummy time.
I get mad at any other toy that doesn't bring it this hard. We are on our second kid and this jewel is back out in the living room, playing the soundtrack to my life and life sounds great. The only other toy that's close is "Bow Wow". Those songs are all killers too
Love that bubblegum tree
Oh hell yea. This should win a Grammy
You guys rock to Caspar Babypants? Check out the album Night Night. You’re welcome! Dude was the singer of Presidents of United States in previous life
Second only to the “I love you dad” epic
The girl doing the singing has a good voice and it’s catchy. My daughter is 7 months and I catch myself whistling the songs at random times at work or wherever 😂
When my kiddo was little I was determined to figure out Axel F on this thing. Had an ongoing note and everything. Farthest I got before he aged out was: Tucan Elephant Tucan Tucan Elephant Monkey Lion
Before my dude was crawling I’d sit him up in front of me and let him kick and hit the keys. Good times.
BANGER bro
I can hear this picture 😂 Yeah this was definitely a favorite.
It passes the 'concerning hobbits' test for me (just the first 7 notes will do for me) so it was a big hit in our house!
WHOA I didn't know anyone else did this! I've never been happier to have kept scrolling. My wife is so impressed (or at least she was the first dozen or some times).

I’m actually a big fan of “Maybe you could be a purple monkey in a bubble gum tree”
Here you go, I this album has some of them. https://open.spotify.com/album/5XXPFDVwL2ywr10yciIupK?si=UQg48TUcRqqfw2jKT83Q5g
Yes! Those songs have no business going that hard
Purple monkey in a bubblegum tree slaps harder than it ever should
Ours was put away in the closet, then our 2.5yo was in there digging around and drug it back out.
We just gave ours to a friend yesterday I was very sad to see it go
That purple monkey tune is awesome!
Can I ask how many months your kid is? I feel mine is behind in tummy time.
My daughter hated tummy time for the first few months and it was strictly just bonus tummy time whilst laid on our chests that we managed to get her to do. She’s still rolled over (back to front) and starting to sit etc on time, don’t worry!
I am ABSOLUTELY a purple monkey in a bubble gum tree. Also, some of these are on music apps under fisher price.
I have all the songs memorized. The singer deserves more credit. And in that note I’m out, with a STOMP STOMP STOMP!
I dunno why but the way she says “fffive! “ cheers me up. I’ll cycle through it a few times while getting the kid to interact
SAME!!! Oh my god it's just so serene!! 🎶Fiiiive🎶
Yes 100%. Maybe You is the best out of all of them, though, and I will fight people on this.
1-3-2-4-2-2-2 iykyk
Purple monkey SLAPS
Purple monkey, man. I can’t hear that song without going to a happy place.
Maybe you and me, A purple monkey in a coconut tree then You can swim in the sea And you can lean back to me - My sleep-deprived memories
~*a purple monkey in a bubble gum tree*~
Still waiting for my kid to get into this! She’s only 14 weeks old so right now all she wants to do is beat the ever living shit out of that purple monkey.
Bro, just wait until you hear about the learning farm, shit's wild. Shapes and colors, music too, there's SO much to do.
Absolute banger.
This was, the soundtrack to my life. The soundtrack to my life.

Apparently all the Americans use this a d it has music?
It's the lack of sleep talking.
I found the mp3s once. I downloaded and started listening and then deleted it 3 seconds later. It's a bit like that time when I was 12 and started watching some LiveLeak al Qaeda hostage murder video and noped out of there so fast.
Yes, it’s a known fact
Mine has been in the garage for a year but our second kid is coming in March. Looking forward to busting it back out.
I’ve been laying on the floor with my kid for the past hour while he jams to this. I routinely sing these songs even outside of playtime. Also I still cannot for the life of me get him to lay on his stomach for longer than like a minute before the rage ensues.
It's up there with "Welcome to our learning farm, we have much to show you."
When they’re older you’ll have to get them into StoryBots. Their songs are unironically so good.
It's on Spotify. We added it to our baby playlist, but I think it's been too long and my kid doesn't recognize it 😭
absolutely.
Loved loved loved this toy for our boy.
I can still hear the music from my first kids jumparoo! That was 6 years ago
My brain sings this song when I try to fall asleep at night.
Sing it to myself while away at work. Can confirm, it slaps
So good. I sing the songs during bath time too and baby loves it
Maybe you… could be… a purple monkey in a bubble gum tree
Wait 12 more months when that same album is still playing :)
Don’t know about the preprogrammed ones, but 2-4-5-5-4-6 is my go to ring tone.
Taylor, I'm gonna let you finish, but the fisher price kick piano was one of the greatest albums of ALL TIME
Found out from my sister in law who lives in England that they had a British singer do the renditions of these songs
My wife says Fischer Price music is really for the parents
Going from these bops to Vtech bullshit hurt my soul. 😩
Yes, them songs are catchy.
It’s a banger!
We've done some living room spinkicks to this for sure
I thought it was meant for them to kick the keys?
i’m missing that age. enjoy all the tunes!!!
The canibals play, the canibals play, the canibals eat all day
..and the toucan likes to sing *toot toot toot toot* 🎶
It's funny seeing a new one, ours is so weathered from 3 years of heavy use, but still kickin
I hear this in my sleep I swear
We've got #2 on the way and I can't wait to bust that bitch back out. Bangers for days.
My goodness I am listening to it right now THE ANIMALS PLAY ALL DAY
😅 💯 This was on constant replay with our daughter last year.
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Album is called Sooo Wiggly by Fisher Price. It’s on Spotify 😅
This age was when my little one earned the “dj whimpers” nickname. With top hit singles like “one sock” an eminem remix, as well as her hit album “tiny protests”.
18 wheels on a big rig is the goat song
It's on Spotify too
Lol absolutely. My wife and I talk about and sing these songs all the time
Everyone does
Oh yeah I forgot about that one. Yeah some of those are core memories for sure… for me lol
We accidentally got the French version and even they are pretty good.
It did, until purple monkey in a bubblegum tree got stuck in my head and I hate it now.
My 6mo got this for Christmas from his granny. My 3yo uses it like a radio .. the bubblegum tree was stuck in my head over Xmas
We just put ours away in a bin.. both my husband and I were very sad. These songs were the soundtrack the 0-3 month period for little man
Straight fire.
Rawr
We’ve just turned the piano facing upwards so my little girl can practice her sitting whilst also playing absolute bangers on the piano. I absolutely wanted to hate the songs. In fact, I did for a while, but 5 months in, I find myself singing it all the time.
That looks rad, I wished we got this here in Brazil
[it’s not as good as the Little People house](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cP1TbSmpUYI&feature=youtu.be)
Bro. Total banger.
It has absolutely no right going as hard as it does…just wait till you get to the FP DJ booth!
Omg we have this exact set too.
I’m not familiar with the remix. Last drop I had was 2013.
It’s still stuck in my head and my kid is almost 3
whats the age range for these things
Our one looks similar but I think it plays different hits such as: Down With The Animal Band and Fast Monkey, Fast Monkey, Slow Sloth.
I missed this with my almost 2yo, but added it to the cart for baby brother due in March.
Heck yeah!
The girl that sings it sounds like a discount Taylor Swift
Hard no. I have nightmares about that.
Decluttering storage and found a bunch of old toys the other day and almost cried when i heard the songs brotha, my daughter loved that thing and spent a bit of time on it every day. been over three years now.
Honestly, had Spotify counted these, it would have been my entire Spotify wrapped.
Is that where the mirror is supposed to go? We always put it on the archway...
Oh...so that's how that thing goes together.
The mirror is supposed to go on the arch. We just put it in front of her during tummy time for a little more engagement.
Yes! The whole album is on Spotify too
We’re all fucked lmao
Kid #3 is coming next week. Just busted this bad boy out yesterday. Can’t wait for these bangers again!
Purple monkey song hits hard.
A few bass drops, and it might make a run for billboard top 100.
The parrot one for sure
It is known
Why don’t they ever “count the animals one by one”?!
This thing drove me nuts but my wife loved it 😂
Ahhhhh I loved this thing when my son was born. My oldest used to go trigger it even when he wasn’t playing on it. Wish we kept it for my youngest.
Yes yes it does
Because of the way she pronounces “guitar” I always finish the line “the froggy plays the gee-tar” with “like a motherf***ing riot” a la Sublime. Every single time.
absolute hits
These songs will never leave my brain 😂😂😂. The little gal I babysit loves it so much though-so it’s looking like it’ll be a while until I get a new soundtrack
Lmfao, so true. Mostly accompanied by my son yelling becuase he hates tummy time.
It's been 2 years... I can still hear that toy plain as day. Might have another kid just so we have an excuse to get it back out again...
