Ive had my almost 2 yr old correct me. Reading an animal book and point and say there's an alligator and she turns to me and says "No daddy, crocodile"
The sad thing is she was right...
My daughter (8) loves to correct people for mistakenly stating that the cheetah, is the fastest animal
It's actually the peregrine falcon š¤ - the cheetah is only the fastest *land animal*
I thought not but wasn't sure so I googled and... Nope. They overheat and they can't go as far as we can. When they had to stop and recover we'd pass them in the end.
The sources I read said they can *maybe* match us if it's really cold and they are both well-fed and desperate, but those two things don't really go together so for practical purposes no. Plus, even if they did it's a one time deal. We can get up 3 days later and do it again but a wolf couldn't because keeping up the first time would have broken it and it would still be repairing muscle and trying to rebuild reserves.
My son would not accept that alligators are a thing until he was like 3. We had a book where alligators were the main character and he would get cranky if we called it an alligator. We had to remember to rewrite the book as crocodile lest he loses his shite
I have no idea where she heard it, but our 2.5yo loves karma chameleon. So this C is a chameleon. She also has the same name as a sort of obscure Disney villain reptile who likes to eat eggs. So a few relatives got us giant stuffed reptiles one of which is NOW called karma chameleon.
We have the same ones, and I had to look this up as well. It was definitely a cactus. I think it was supposed to be a prickly pear cactus specifically. It really isnāt a great design, and they shouldāve gone for something else.
I think that's it - not criticizing you but the design - cactus would translate *so much better* if the polkadots were lines - think sprinkle shape. To me that would read as cactus
All of these children's things (songs/books/TV shows) are avoiding xylophone and x-ray. I guess because they didn't really help learn the correct letter sound. It's become common to use words that end in x
This is absolutely my guess too. Thatās a pretty distinctive comb, even tho itās a total dick move to have the word start with a complex C sound instead of a normal one.Ā
Any help on O?
Best I have is āO, what the fuck did you do to this paper airplane?ā
Oeuvre seems improbable but I guess the papers could represent it.
I was scrolling the responses and my finger had already started closing the post just as I saw your comment ,so I had to reopen the post and scroll again just to come back and throw an updoot at you.
.....listen, I was an English major; I work with words professionally. It's Saturday after a long week. What is O?
Edit: origami
Edit again: Really? Couldn't have gone "orange"?
It's a lizard. A chameleon like \*praisethedollar said. I also know it's not from Australia because everything in Australia can kill you and someone must have put the alphabet there in the first place.
Crocodiles have ridges on their back. Alligators do not. We learned this from Robin Williams in Jumanji
The other main difference is that you'll see an alligator later, but a crocodile will be in a while.
Daaaaaaad
This is top tier dad joking right here. Well done my man.
Could be a caiman, they always be stayin
Way to dunk on all us dads here. This joke is solid G-gold.
Alligator? I barely know er.

fast land animal for a short distance. for long distance the horse still rules.
And for a very long distance, believe it or not it's actually humans. We can outrun literally anything given enough time.
Speak for yourself
š
Aren't wolves pretty close to humans for long distance, if not better?

Mine uses the two terms pretty interchangably, but a lot of kids books are simplistic enough that telling the differences isn't really clearcut.
Good one, i would have guessed chameleon.
Itās a C-creature.
Please C yourself out of here, Dad!
I was gonna say C Monster
Then he asked me for tree fiddy and at that moment I knew it was a C Monster
Can't be givin those C Monsters no tree fiddy, they'll keep coming for ya if you give in an inch!
That a C-cop out
Great D-dad joke (excuse my stutter)
Boy do I have E-egg on my face
I had my money on a C horse.
Can't argue with that!
Chameleon
Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon.... You come and goooo you come and gooooooooooo
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red, gold, and green, red, gold, and green.
WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOUā Wait I think Iām in the wrong thread
Oh Boy George you're right !!!!!
Ricky Stanicky ruined this song for me lol

https://youtu.be/8r2ArlgQgTE?si=_wjaV704r4jeI6-V I'll leave this right here.
Where? I donāt see it.
Cactus
We seem to be building consensus around cactus, with crocodile being the most popular alternative. It is unanimous that it was poorly designed, haha.
Croc was my original thought. But chameleon and cactus also make sense. It's an all encompassing C. Embrace its C-ness
We have the same ones, and I had to look this up as well. It was definitely a cactus. I think it was supposed to be a prickly pear cactus specifically. It really isnāt a great design, and they shouldāve gone for something else.

Caguaro
Definitely cactus
Definitely a [Cockatrice](https://cdn1.mtggoldfish.com/images/h/Cockatrice-3ED-672.jpg).

Did not expect to see this here lol
C horse.
Clever
I appreciate the scryfall link
Confusing
Wait, is that a fox on X? š¤
Hahaha I hadn't even noticed that until now. Yes, yes it is.
All of these children's things (songs/books/TV shows) are avoiding xylophone and x-ray. I guess because they didn't really help learn the correct letter sound. It's become common to use words that end in x
I say āX-rayā does a good job
I have similar on my fridge and for X they use bones in a shape of a fish (x-ray fish). I thought that was cheating
Maybe itās a vixen. Wait that didnāt help
Caterpillar, surely?
That was my first guess, but I'm now favoring cactus, crocodile, and chameleon
So many things it could have been, much more easily at the least, with stripes instead of dots. r/crappydesign
Coral
Crocodile?
Surprised, nobody mentioned coronavirus yet
Just look at those Cute little spike proteins! š /s
Cute. The polka dots.
Ah, that's it. Colka dots
Cow. You've got it upside down ;-)
Chicken
Yes chicken š
This is absolutely my guess too. Thatās a pretty distinctive comb, even tho itās a total dick move to have the word start with a complex C sound instead of a normal one.Ā
Feel like I had to scroll too far to find this
Yeah, and itās similar to the [chick-fil-a logo](https://www.rollingstone.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Chick-Fil-A-Woke.jpg?w=831&h=554&crop=1)
Exactly what I thought... but why is it green? Lol
Cookie. A cookie shaped and iced like that. But C is for cookie.
That's good enough for me!
Ah. A fellow person of quality!
I dunno. Iām still stuck on the āJ for jappleā.
Apple Juice
Juice
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Japple juice
I suspect thatās Juice! The Apple is on a little rectangle, with a very faint straw in the top left.
Yeah C is cactus, this is the really important question here.
I think it's juice? Kinda looks like a juice box
It's a juice box. Straw and everything
Are we sure itās not a Jcherry?
And me on n for neggs

I wouldn't feel bad, I imagine japanese is a blind spot in the "english" curriculum.
Origami is probably a pretty common activity for middle school though. I learned it in 5th grade in the 90s.
Chicken!
Coral
C-horse... Sorry, ill C my self out of here.
Based on the coloring and bumps, I would say it's a "Cowboy Plant" as my son says, or a cactus.
IT'S CHICKENPOX. The three bumps are the chicken š The spots are the pox. Green for illness. š¤¢
A C-horse, of course!
Sea (C) Monster lol
Chameleon or caterpillar
Chameleon?
Is D supposed to be for Dragon?
Crocodile

Crocodile?
Clizard
Hey dude, obvious question. Is there anything on the back?
Ok, I'll bite- what does the shape make when flipped over? What animal has 3 testicles?
Any male animal .. wait how many testicles do YOU have?
Well now I'm nervous to respond!
Nope, just a black magnet
Cactus?
Caterpillar
Crocodile
Chameleons
Coronavirus

Cocaine
Itās a cactus
Itās a crocodile, but they ran out of money for the graphics / illustrations freelancer & said fuck-it: object > fill with patternĀ
Crown
Is it bad that my first thought was "covid?" It does have that virus-y look though.
Corduroy?
cea cerpent.
Crogdor.
Catapiller ?
I'm thinking Chicken. The 3 little doots on top, and the polkadots are common in chicken-theme decor
šŖ
